Ross was great to work with & the experience exceeded our expectations! He was very accommodating with pick up- we live out of state and ran into unexpected delays on our way to pick up. The rental was very clean, came stocked with anything we needed, and was a very pleasant experience. We will be repeat renters!

Kenny was great to work with on delivery, setup, and pickup. All were completely as desired. The camper was great, roomy and completely stocked with all that we needed. Only thing we encountered is that there was no antenna access for the television and the wifi at the campground was not strong enough for steaming to the TV.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Lodi, WI

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Lodi, WI?

RV rental in Lodi is affordable compared to big metro markets. Travel trailers typically run about $80 to $175 per night, Class C motorhomes average $175 to $275, and larger Class A rigs land between $250 and $400 nightly. Lodi sits between Madison and the Wisconsin Dells, so you'll find competitive pricing from hosts who cater to weekend lake and Dells travelers. To score a cheap RV rental Lodi visitors love, book midweek, aim for May or September shoulder dates, and consider a travel trailer if you already have a tow vehicle. Many hosts discount stays of 5+ nights, so a full week on Lake Wisconsin can cost less per night than a long weekend.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Lodi, Wisconsin?

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Lodi. Wisconsin does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers within standard size limits, so your everyday license works for nearly every rig on RVezy. RVezy's approved driver guidelines generally require renters to be at least 25 years old. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto club. ID verification happens right inside the RVezy platform during checkout, so there's no DMV trip or extra paperwork before your Lodi getaway.

Is RV rental in Lodi, WI covered by protection if something goes wrong?

The protection plan covers most damages to the RV during your trip, giving you real financial peace of mind. What happens if I need to cancel my Lodi RV trip?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy for every reservation. There's a grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and additional refund options apply depending on how far in advance of your trip start date you cancel. RVezy also has provisions for unexpected events, which matters in Wisconsin where a sudden spring thunderstorm can change plans fast. If life happens before your Lodi RV trip, head to your RVezy dashboard or contact support, your reservation details and refund options are right there, no back-and-forth with the host required.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Lodi?

Yes, many hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental Lodi travelers love, and your dog will love Lake Wisconsin too. On RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching Lodi listings to see rigs that welcome dogs. Dogs are welcome on-leash at most local campgrounds and on designated pet trails at Devil's Lake State Park about 25 minutes north. Pro tip: pack a towel, the sandy public beach access on Lake Wisconsin means a wet, happy dog by the end of day one.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Lodi?

Yes, RV delivery is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you've never towed before. Many RVezy hosts will drive the rig directly to a campground or private property in the Lodi area, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just use the Delivery filter when browsing, then message the host to confirm your destination and any delivery fee (usually based on mileage from the host's location). For a first time renting an RV, this turns a campervan rental Lodi booking into a true plug-and-play vacation.

How does mileage work, and how far can I drive from Lodi?

Mileage on RVezy is flexible because each host sets their own policy, and you'll see it clearly on the listing page before you book. Many Lodi hosts offer generous daily mileage allowances, and some list RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is perfect for a longer loop. From Lodi you're within easy reach of southern Wisconsin highlights: Wisconsin Dells (about 30 miles), Devil's Lake State Park (about 25 miles), Madison (about 25 miles), Door County (about 200 miles), and the Mississippi River bluffs at Wyalusing State Park (about 110 miles). Pro tip: if your itinerary is loose, filter for unlimited-mileage listings and let the Wisconsin backroads decide.

Where can I camp with my RV in Lodi, WI?

You have great options for RV camping near Lodi. Smokey Hollow Campground sits just outside town with big-rig-friendly sites and full amenities during the warm-season window. Just north, Devil's Lake State Park has three family campgrounds (Quartzite, Northern Lights, and Ice Age) tucked under the famous quartzite bluffs, and Mirror Lake State Park near the Dells is another favorite. Lake Wisconsin and the Wisconsin River also have private campgrounds and resort parks within a short drive. The best campgrounds near Lodi book up early for summer weekends, so reserve as soon as your dates lock in.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Lodi, Wisconsin?

Late May through early October is prime time for an RV rental Wisconsin road trip based out of Lodi, with daytime highs ranging from around 70F in May and September to the mid-80s in July and August. June and early September are the sweet spot: warm enough to swim in Lake Wisconsin, cool enough at night for a campfire, and far less crowded than the Fourth of July rush in the Dells. Fall color typically peaks late September into mid-October, when the Baraboo Range turns gold and crimson, gorgeous from the Merrimac Ferry. Winters are cold (often below 20F) and most campgrounds close by mid to late October, so plan accordingly.

I've never rented an RV before. Is Lodi a good place to start?

Lodi is one of the more beginner-friendly spots in Wisconsin to rent an RV. Roads are flat to gently rolling, traffic is light outside the Dells corridor, and most area campgrounds have wide pull-through sites that are easy to park in. Every RVezy host gives you a full orientation at pickup, showing you how to operate the slide-outs, water system, generator, and propane before you drive off. You can message hosts beforehand with any questions, and RVezy support is available 24/7. Pro tip for a first time renting an RV: book delivery for trip one and pick up yourself on trip two once you're comfortable.

What if I have a breakdown or flat tire during my trip?

You're never stranded on an RVezy trip. Every booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on Highway 60 or a dead battery at Devil's Lake is one phone call away from being handled. Help covers things like towing, jump-starts, tire changes, lockout service, and fuel delivery. Your host is also a message away through the RVezy app, and the support team has your back the whole trip. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number in your phone before leaving Lodi, cell service is solid along I-39/90 and Highway 113 but can dip in the bluff country around Baraboo.

Can I take my Lodi RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, an RV road trip from Lodi across state lines is doable and very popular. Most RVezy hosts allow travel throughout the continental US, so loops through Minnesota's North Shore, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, or down to Chicago and Indiana Dunes are fair game. Cross-border trips into Canada may be allowed but require host approval since insurance and protection coverage must extend across the border, so message your host before booking if Canada is on the itinerary. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because protection coverage does not extend there.

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Realistic fuel planning makes your motorhome rental Lodi trip stress-free. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves but drop your tow vehicle's MPG to roughly 10 to 14. Class B campervans usually get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and big Class A rigs land around 6 to 10 MPG. Wisconsin gas prices typically sit near the national average, and you'll find competitive pricing at Kwik Trip stations in Lodi, Poynette, and Sauk City. Pro tip: fill up in Lodi or Sauk City before heading into the Dells, prices often jump a few cents at the tourist-corridor pumps along I-90/94.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Lodi?

Book early and you'll have your pick of the best sites. Wisconsin State Parks like Devil's Lake, Mirror Lake, and Governor Dodge open reservations 11 months in advance through the Wisconsin DNR reservation system, and summer weekends, especially around Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day, sell out within hours. Private parks near Lodi take direct bookings and often fill up 3 to 6 months ahead for peak weekends. Pro tip: for a more spontaneous Lodi RV trip, aim for Sunday-through-Thursday stays or target the first two weeks of June, you'll often find availability even at Devil's Lake when weekend warriors cannot.

What are driving conditions like around Lodi?

Driving conditions around Lodi are about as RV-friendly as Wisconsin gets. Highway 113, Highway 60, and I-39/90/94 are wide, well-maintained, and mostly flat through farmland and gentle hills. A fun local quirk: the Merrimac Ferry on Highway 113 is a free state-run ferry that carries RVs across Lake Wisconsin from mid-April through early November, a beloved shortcut to Devil's Lake. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk on rural stretches, and slow down for the curvy descents into the Wisconsin River valley near Sauk City. Winter driving (December through March) brings ice and snow, so most renters stick to the April-to-October window.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Lodi?

Lodi-area campgrounds are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Private parks typically offer full-hookup sites (water, electric, sewer), dump stations, laundry, swimming, beaches, and boat ramps. Smokey Hollow Campground has 30/50-amp electric, water, a dump station, big-rig pull-throughs, and on-site propane. Devil's Lake State Park campgrounds offer electric at most sites plus potable water fills and a centralized dump station (no sewer at individual sites). Pro tip: top off freshwater and dump tanks before heading into the Dells, in-park dump fees there can run $10 to $20 for non-guests.

What's typically included inside an RVezy rental in Lodi?

Most Lodi RV rentals come ready to camp the moment you turn the key. Expect a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and basic cookware; a bathroom with toilet and shower; sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on the rig; air conditioning and furnace; a TV in many units; and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Class C and Class A motorhomes often include a generator for off-grid power, and many newer rigs offer a Wi-Fi booster or cell hotspot. Each listing spells out exactly what's included, so you can compare side by side. Pro tip: message the host to confirm bedding, towels, and outdoor chairs, many include them free while others charge a small add-on.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lodi%2C%20Wisconsin

What add-ons can I get with my Lodi RV rental?

Hosts in Lodi offer add-ons that make your trip easier. Common options include delivery and setup (often $2 to $4 per mile from the host), generator hours for boondocking, linen and towel packages ($25 to $75), camp chairs and outdoor rugs, kayaks or paddleboards (perfect for Lake Wisconsin), grills, and propane refills. Pickup and dropoff times are set by each host and shown on the listing, most use a flexible afternoon pickup and morning return. Mileage policies vary, so check the daily allowance and per-mile overage before booking, or filter for unlimited-mileage rigs. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a linen package and your RV is truly turnkey when you arrive at the campground.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment on RVezy is simple and secure: you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A security deposit is held separately from your booking payment shortly before your trip starts and released after dropoff once the rig is returned in the same condition. Deposit amounts are set per listing and shown clearly before you book. To avoid issues, do a quick walkaround video at pickup and dropoff, follow the host's mileage and generator-hours policy, and return the RV with the same fuel and tank levels you started with. Pro tip: leaving the rig clean and tanks dumped goes a long way toward a fast deposit release.

What are the best road trips to take from Lodi?

Lodi is a launchpad for some of the Midwest's best RV trips. Top picks: Wisconsin Dells (about 30 miles, water parks and Upper Dells boat tours), Devil's Lake State Park (about 25 miles, quartzite bluffs and swimming), Door County (about 200 miles, lighthouses and cherry orchards), the Mississippi River Great River Road via Wyalusing State Park (about 110 miles), and the Driftless Area around Viroqua and Westby (about 140 miles, rolling unglaciated hills and trout streams). For a quick overnight, the Merrimac Ferry crossing toward Devil's Lake is a Wisconsin classic. Pro tip: a 4-day loop from Lodi to Devil's Lake to Wisconsin Dells to Mirror Lake State Park back to Lodi covers roughly 100 miles total and hits the region's greatest hits.
