Campgrounds and RV parks near Lansing, NY

Lansing sits on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake in Tompkins County, about ten miles north of Ithaca. The area functions as a Finger Lakes base camp: waterfall gorges, lakefront swimming, wine trails, and Cornell-adjacent Ithaca are all within a short drive. RV renters tend to use Lansing as a hub for day trips rather than a single-park destination. Campground options split into three tiers. Myers Park is the closest, a town-run park directly on Cayuga Lake with a marina, swimming area, and a small campground loop. Buttermilk Falls State Park and Robert H Treman State Park, both just south of Ithaca, deliver the classic New York State Parks experience with gorge trails and stream-fed swimming holes. Spruce Row Campground and Pinecreek Campground are private options with fuller RV hookups. Most sites are seasonal. Buttermilk Falls runs mid-May through mid-October and Robert H Treman runs mid-May into early November, so planning around those windows is essential for RV renters.

New York State Parks campgrounds, including Buttermilk Falls and Robert H Treman, are reserved through ReserveAmerica. Campsites can be booked up to nine months in advance, and same-day reservations are accepted online until 3 p.m. on the arrival date, with walk-ins permitted after 3 p.m. subject to availability. Cabins require at least one day's notice, with a two-night minimum off-peak, three nights on Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Columbus Day weekends, and a seven-night Saturday-to-Saturday minimum during peak summer. Myers Park is booked directly through the Town of Lansing Parks and Recreation Department via its online reservation portal. Spruce Row and Pinecreek take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Proof of rabies vaccination is required at state park check-in if traveling with pets.
