Things to do around Bath
Fishing is a headline draw. Evergreen Lake stocks its lake with a range of fish species, and fishing there is license-free with no catch limits. Nearby Pohopoco Creek, an excellent trout stream, feeds the 949-acre Beltzville Lake, and the lake supports year-round fishing for trout, bass, walleye, and muskellunge.
Beltzville State Park features a 525-foot sand beach and 15 miles of hiking trails including Wild Creek Falls. The Sawmill Trail starts just west of Beltzville Dam and passes the remains of a gristmill, small ponds, an abandoned slate quarry, and a wetland.

Snow and ice common, most private campgrounds closed
Bath has a humid continental climate. Winters are cold with regular snow and ice, and most private campgrounds in the area close from late fall through early spring. Evergreen Lake is open from April 15 through October 15, and Don Laine runs a similar warm-season schedule. Beltzville State Park itself is open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset, but there is no camping or overnight lodging within Beltzville State Park.
Late spring through early summer brings mild days, heavy tree cover leafing out, and the region's wettest stretch, with frequent thunderstorms. June is the month with the most rainy days in the Allentown area. Pohopoco Creek and other local waters are stocked with trout by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission through the spring.
July and August are hot and humid, and holiday weekends and Pocono Raceway race dates fill seasonal parks fastest. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the beach and day use area at Beltzville are open every day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. September and October cool sharply, humidity drops, biting insects fade, and foliage peaks late September through mid-October, making it the strongest window for a quieter RV trip.

Great weekend getaway!
Kami A. - Nov 2024
Great vehicle and friendly owners. This compact camper has a lot of creature comforts while allowing one to maneuver and park in regular parking lots. The van is really easy to drive and handles really nice. The beds were comfortable and IMO accommodate 2 adults (top bed) and 1 adult or 2 kids in the lower bed. We were able to use the bike rack, too, and that worked great for a road bike and mountain bike (I think 2 mountain bikes might not fit unless the handle bars were turned on 1 of them). We didn't use the, generator, heater, hot water, shower, sink, microwave or toilet so I can't comment on them but I wish we rented it longer so we could've taken advantage of all this van has to offer. We would absolutely rent again.
Great holiday weekend in Dalton's camper! He was an amazing host, and everything was as described. We had the camper delivered and picked up by Mike, who was also awesome! Thanks for a great weekend!
Stephanie H. - Sep 2026
Dalton's Jayco is the perfect option for a small family. There's plenty of sleeping options for the kids, and the tub is a great bonus for bath time. The camper is well maintained and everything was functional. Delivery and pick up to the site went smoothly. We're hoping it's available next year too!
