Campgrounds and RV parks near East Prospect, PA

East Prospect is a small borough in York County, Pennsylvania, sitting a few miles west of the Susquehanna River. Nearby Samuel S. Lewis State Park covers 85 acres and is dominated by Mt. Pisgah, an 885-foot ridge that separates Kreutz Creek Valley to the north and East Prospect Valley to the south. The location puts RV travelers within easy reach of the Lower Susquehanna, Lancaster County to the east, and the Hershey and Harrisburg corridor to the north. Campground options within a short drive cover the full range from riverfront primitive sites to full-hookup resorts. Bainbridge Rock Quarry Campground and Otter Creek Campground sit along or near the Susquehanna, while Pequea Creek Campground lies across the river in Lancaster County. Circle M RV and Camping Resort and Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA Holiday offer larger family-oriented properties with pools, activities, and pull-through RV sites. The area is a practical base for visiting Gettysburg, Lancaster's Amish country, Hersheypark, and the state parks that ring the Lower Susquehanna River corridor.

Pennsylvania state park campgrounds, including Gifford Pinchot and other DCNR sites in the region, are reserved through the state's ReserveAmerica portal. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance, and popular summer weekends are often taken within days of opening. Some sites may only be available by contacting the park office directly, so it is worth calling to check availability if the online window is full. Private campgrounds such as Circle M RV and Camping Resort, Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA Holiday, Pequea Creek Campground, Bainbridge Rock Quarry Campground, and Otter Creek Campground take bookings directly through their own websites or by phone. KOA properties also accept reservations through the KOA app. For summer holiday weekends and Hersheypark event dates, book several months out.
