RV camping near Fivepointville, Pennsylvania
Fivepointville is an unincorporated community in Brecknock Township, northeastern Lancaster County, named for the intersection of five roads at its center. The surrounding countryside is classic Pennsylvania Dutch country: rolling farmland, Amish and Mennonite communities, covered bridges, and small towns like New Holland, Ephrata, Denver, and Adamstown within a short drive.
RV renters use Fivepointville as a base for exploring Lancaster County without the traffic of Route 30. Private campgrounds dominate the area, with full-hookup RV sites, cabins, and family amenities rather than dispersed or public-land camping. Red Run Campground, Sills Campgrounds, Shady Grove Campground, Woodcrest Retreat, and Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Oak Creek are all within roughly a 15-minute drive.
Most properties sit on wooded or farm-adjacent acreage. Sites typically include 30 or 50 amp electric, water, picnic tables, and fire rings, with dump stations and bathhouses on site. The setting suits families looking for pool-and-playground stays combined with day trips to Hersheypark, Dutch Wonderland, Strasburg Rail Road, and Amish farm markets.
Things to do near Fivepointville
On-site recreation at nearby campgrounds is a major draw for families. Red Run Campground features a swimming pool, a stocked catch-and-release fishing pond, creek access along Muddy Creek, a playground, pickleball, horseshoes, and seasonal weekend activities. Woodcrest Retreat has a swimming pool with a 225-foot water slide, wooded walking areas, and a camp store.
Off site, day trips fill out the itinerary. Strasburg Rail Road, Sight and Sound Theatres, Dutch Wonderland, and the Ephrata Cloister are within reasonable driving distance, and the Green Dragon Farmers Market in Ephrata is a Friday tradition. Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area offers hiking, birdwatching, and the well-known snow goose migration in late winter.
Amish farm stands, quilt shops, and pretzel bakeries line the back roads between Blue Ball, Intercourse, and Bird-in-Hand.

Most private campgrounds around Fivepointville run a seasonal calendar. Woodcrest Retreat operates its RV campground during the months of April through October, with a two-night minimum on weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Red Run Resort and Campground keeps its RV, cabin, and tent sites open through the warm-weather months and hosts seasonal campers as well.
Late spring and early fall are the sweet spots for RV travel: mild temperatures, working pools at the resort-style parks, and fewer bugs than midsummer. Peak demand runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with July weekends and holiday weekends filling first. Reserve well ahead for those dates.
Fall is a local favorite. Amish country foliage typically peaks in mid to late October, and farmers markets are stocked with apples, cider, and pumpkins. Winter camping options are limited in this immediate area, so travelers looking for cold-weather stays should confirm operating dates directly with the campground.

How to book a site near Fivepointville
Campgrounds near Fivepointville are privately owned, so reservations go through each property directly rather than a central state or federal system like ReserveAmerica or Recreation.gov. Most take bookings by phone or through their own website booking engine. Red Run Resort and Campground uses an online reservation platform, and Woodcrest Retreat accepts campground reservations through its Ephrata office by phone or online.
For peak-season weekends, book eight to twelve weeks out. Holiday weekends often carry two or three-night minimums, and some parks require full prepayment. When booking an RV rental for delivery to a site, confirm site length, hookup amperage (30 vs 50 amp), and whether sewer is at the site or dump-only. Ask about pet policies and quiet hours if traveling with kids or dogs.
What to expect on arrival in Fivepointville
Expect small, family-run operations rather than big-box resorts. Roads into properties like Red Run Campground, Sills Campgrounds, and Woodcrest Retreat are rural, sometimes narrow, and share pavement with Amish horse-and-buggy traffic. Plan daylight arrivals when possible, and slow down on hills and blind curves.
Check-in is typically mid-afternoon. Red Run Resort lists a 3:00 p.m. arrival for RV and tent sites and 4:00 p.m. for cabins. Sites at Woodcrest and similar parks include water and electric, with sewer at a portion of sites and a shared dump station otherwise. Bathhouses, laundry, camp stores, and playgrounds are standard.
Cell service is generally reliable, and most parks offer Wi-Fi, though speeds vary. Sundays are quiet across the region as many Amish and Mennonite businesses are closed, so stock groceries on Saturday.

Plans change, and RVezy is built for that. Every booking is backed by a standard cancellation policy set by RVezy (not the host), so the rules are consistent across every RV rental in Fivepointville. Your refund amount depends on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy helps rebook you or issues a refund or travel credit. Review the full cancellation policy in the RVezy Help Center before you book so you know exactly what to expect.

dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/RecreationalActivities/PetsInParks/Pages/default.aspxCan a host deliver the RV directly to my campsite near Fivepointville?
Yes, and it's a game changer, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. Many RVezy hosts offer RV delivery in Fivepointville and throughout Lancaster County, meaning they'll tow or drive the rig to your campground, level it, hook up water and electric, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Popular delivery destinations within about 30 miles include Old Mill Stream Campground in Lancaster and Sun Outdoors Lancaster County in Narvon. Use the Delivery filter when searching, then message the host with your destination to confirm distance and any per mile delivery fee.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106934-Delivery-optionsHow does mileage work on a Fivepointville RV rental and how far can I realistically go?

penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Pages/default.aspxWhat are the best campgrounds near Fivepointville, PA?
You're spoiled for choice. Top campgrounds near Fivepointville include Sun Outdoors Lancaster County in Narvon (right in your backyard with a pool and planned activities), Old Mill Stream Campground in Lancaster (walking distance to Dutch Wonderland), and Shady Grove Campground in Mertztown (about 25 minutes east, creekside with full hookups). For a state park experience, French Creek State Park near Elverson offers electric sites and over 7,700 acres of hiking, and Marsh Creek State Park near Downingtown is another nearby option. dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/FrenchCreekStatePark/Pages/default.aspxWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Fivepointville?
Late April through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping in Fivepointville, with two clear winners: May to June (highs 70 to 82 F, blooming farmland, fewer crowds) and late September through mid-October when the Lancaster County foliage explodes in red and gold. July and August get warm (mid-80s with humidity) but are perfect for pool campgrounds. Winters dip into the 20s and 30s with occasional snow, so most casual renters target the April to October window. Local insider tip: book your fall foliage week by July, peak color (usually the second and third weeks of October) sells out fastest in all of Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
weather.gov/ctp/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay picking one up in Fivepointville?
You're going to do great. First time renting an RV in Fivepointville is easier than most people expect because the area is built for it: wide rural roads, low traffic outside Route 222, and friendly hosts who walk you through every system at pickup, slides, leveling, tanks, propane, and generator included. Start with a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer if you're nervous, both drive a lot like a big van or pickup. The back roads through Bowmansville and Terre Hill are forgiving practice routes. Pro tip: do your first turn-in at the campsite during daylight, and your host is just a text away if questions pop up.
penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Safety/Pages/default.aspxWhat if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You're never stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance through the renter protection plan, so a flat tire, dead battery, lockout, or mechanical hiccup is one phone call away from getting sorted. For questions about how the RV works, your host is your first call, they know their rig better than anyone, and most Fivepointville area hosts respond within minutes. WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital and Reading Hospital are both within roughly 20 to 30 minutes for emergencies. RVezy support is also available before, during, and after every trip. Save the roadside number in your phone before you leave the driveway.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008954-Roadside-assistance-coverageCan I take a Fivepointville RV rental on a multi-state road trip?
Yes, an RV road trip from Fivepointville is one of the best ways to see the mid-Atlantic. Travel within the United States is allowed on every RVezy booking, so you can roll through New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia without any extra paperwork. Popular routes include the Pocono Mountains loop (about 2 hours north), the Shenandoah Valley and Skyline Drive (around 4 hours southwest), and Niagara Falls (roughly 5.5 hours northwest). Heads up: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental, and crossing into Canada requires explicit host approval plus insurance confirmation, message the host before booking.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for a Pennsylvania RV trip?
Easy to plan once you know the numbers. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes around 8 to 12 MPG, travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG combined), and Class A rigs run 7 to 10 MPG. Gas prices in the Fivepointville area typically hover near the Pennsylvania state average (recently around $3.30 to $3.70 per gallon for regular). A weekend Lancaster County loop of 200 miles in a Class C runs about $60 to $80 in fuel. Pro tip: top up at the Wawa or Sheetz on Route 322 before heading into Amish country where gas stations thin out.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground around Fivepointville?
Earlier than you think, especially for summer and fall. Pennsylvania State Park campgrounds (French Creek, Marsh Creek, Pine Grove Furnace) open reservations 11 months in advance through the official PA State Parks reservation system, and prime summer weekends fill within hours. Private campgrounds like Sun Outdoors Lancaster County and Old Mill Stream typically open booking 6 to 12 months out and sell out 2 to 3 months ahead for July, August, and October foliage weekends. Midweek and shoulder season (May, early June, late September) you can often grab a site 2 to 4 weeks out. Pro tip: snag a Friday Saturday combo first, then extend if you find availability.
pennsylvaniastateparks.reserveamerica.com/What are the driving conditions like around Fivepointville?
Mostly relaxed, with a few local quirks worth knowing. Fivepointville sits in Lancaster County's Amish country, so expect to share two lane roads like Route 897 and Route 625 with horse drawn buggies, slow down, pass only when fully clear, and watch for the orange triangle. Route 222 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) are your fastest connectors to Reading, Lancaster, and Philadelphia. Winter (December to March) can bring snow and ice, so plan around the forecast. Summer thunderstorms roll through quickly. Avoid downtown Lancaster city in an RV over 25 feet, the narrow brick streets are tight, park at a campground and take a rideshare in instead.
penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Safety/Pages/Winter-Driving.aspxWhat hookups and amenities will I find at campgrounds near Fivepointville?
Most campgrounds within 30 miles of Fivepointville offer full hookup sites: 30 or 50 amp electric, fresh water, and sewer right at the pad. Sun Outdoors Lancaster County and Old Mill Stream both have full hookups, pools, laundry, and Wi Fi. Pennsylvania state parks (French Creek, Marsh Creek) typically offer electric only sites with central water spigots and a dump station near the exit. Free dump stations are available at the Flying J in Carlisle and many KOAs along the way. Pro tip: fill your fresh water tank at the campground spigot before parking on your site, it's the cleanest source and saves messing with hoses later.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/Pages/default.aspxWhat's typically inside a motorhome rental in Fivepointville?
More than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental in Fivepointville comes fully equipped: real beds (queen or king in most Class Cs, plus bunks or convertible dinettes), a kitchen with fridge, freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a wet or dry bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, propane furnace, and seatbelted seating for the whole family. Most rentals include a TV, many have generators or solar for off grid power, and a growing number offer mobile Wi Fi hotspots. Campervan rental Fivepointville options are more compact but cover the basics in a smaller footprint. Check the listing's amenities list, or just message the host to confirm exactly what's included.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safetyWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect when booking?
Hosts make it easy to customize your Fivepointville RV rental. Common add-ons include bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits with pots, plates, and utensils, camp chairs and outdoor mats, generators or extra propane, bike racks, and firewood bundles. Pickup is typically at the host's home or a nearby meeting point in Lancaster County, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included so you leave confident on every system. Many hosts offer delivery to local campgrounds for a per mile fee. Mileage policies vary by listing, usually 100 to 150 miles per day with optional unlimited upgrades. Family RV trip in Fivepointville tip: ask the host about bundling add-ons for a discount.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037868454-Add-ons-and-extrasHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Simple and secure. You pay for your Fivepointville RV rental directly through RVezy with a credit card, no cash and no driveway handoffs. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment a few days before pickup and released after return, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition it left.
