Camping near Intercourse, Pennsylvania
Intercourse sits in the heart of Lancaster County's Amish farmland, roughly ten miles east of the city of Lancaster along Route 340. RV travelers use the village as a base for Pennsylvania Dutch Country, with easy day trips to Bird-in-Hand, Strasburg, Paradise, and Ronks. The surrounding countryside is flat to gently rolling, and most nearby campgrounds sit directly on or beside working Amish farms.
Campground options within a short drive cover the full range of styles. Beacon Hill Camping is a small, quiet campground for ages 16 and older, roughly three-quarters of a mile from Kitchen Kettle Village, while Country Acres Campground offers generous sites, a pool, and family amenities on eighteen-acre grounds near Route 30. Mill Bridge Village and Camp Resort, Flory's Cottages and Camping, and Roamers Retreat Campground round out the closest options, each with full hookups and Amish-farm views.
Most parks are big-rig friendly with 50-amp service, and traffic on Route 30 is the main planning consideration during peak season.
Things to do around Intercourse
Kitchen Kettle Village anchors the town, with shops, food stands, and buggy rides within a compact walkable block. Nearby draws include Sight & Sound Theatres in Ronks, Dutch Wonderland amusement park along Route 30, the Strasburg Rail Road, and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Country Acres Campground guests receive a complimentary two-hour guided bus tour of Amish farmlands, Monday through Saturday.
For outdoor time, the back roads around Intercourse are well suited to cycling and scenic drives past covered bridges and one-room schoolhouses. Mill Bridge Village and Camp Resort is home to the 1738 Herr's Grist Mill and the 1844 covered bridge, the longest in Lancaster County, both registered historic landmarks, with self-guided mill tours available to campers.
Families typically pair one theme-park day with one or two days of village shopping, farm markets, and smorgasbord dinners.

Mill Bridge Village and Camp Resort is open year round with full-hookup sites, which makes it a useful shoulder-season and winter option.
Spring brings mild temperatures, blooming farmland, and the lightest crowds outside of Easter weekend. Summer is the busiest stretch, with hot, humid days, frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and heavy weekend traffic on Route 30 near Dutch Wonderland and the outlet malls. Booking an RV site near Intercourse
Most campgrounds near Intercourse are privately owned and take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. There is no central park-agency reservation system for this area, since the surrounding land is private farmland rather than state or federal park. Third-party booking through Good Sam, RoverPass, or Hipcamp is available for several properties, including Country Acres Campground, Mill Bridge Village and Camp Resort, Flory's Cottages and Camping, and Roamers Retreat Campground.
For summer weekends, holidays, and the fall foliage window, booking six to eight weeks ahead is prudent, longer for pull-through big-rig sites or creekside sites. Deposits are typically required at the time of booking, and cancellation policies vary by park. Beacon Hill Camping is restricted to guests ages sixteen and older, so families with young children should choose another nearby park.
What to expect on arrival
Sites near Intercourse are generally level and grassy, set among Amish farmland rather than forest. Expect open views, working farms across the fence line, and the sound of horse-drawn buggies on adjacent roads. Full hookups with 30 or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, and cable are standard at Flory's Cottages and Camping, and similar service is available at Mill Bridge Village and Camp Resort and Roamers Retreat Campground.
Campfires are prohibited at Flory's Cottages and Camping as a courtesy to Amish neighbors, so confirm fire rules with each park before arrival. Cell coverage is generally reliable, and most parks offer WiFi, though speeds vary.
Out of respect for the Amish community, campgrounds ask that guests limit photographs of people and keep noise down after quiet hours. Sunday closures are common at local shops and restaurants.
