Campgrounds and RV parks near Lebanon South, PA

Hersheypark is the region's main draw, with more than a dozen roller coasters, water attractions, live entertainment, and the adjacent ZooAmerica. Chocolate World, the Hershey Arena, Hershey Stadium, and the Giant Center all sit within the same complex. Outdoor time centers on Swatara State Park, a 3,520-acre park stretching along eight miles of Swatara Creek between Blue Mountain and Second Mountain, with more than 34 miles of trails for hiking and biking, plus paddling and fishing. Indian Echo Caverns offers guided tours through limestone passages, and Fort Indiantown Gap hosts the Pennsylvania National Guard Military Museum. Lancaster County's Amish farmland, roadside stands, covered bridges, and outlet shopping are all within a short drive, and Gettysburg is reachable as a day trip.

The core RV season around Lebanon runs from mid-April through late October, which matches the operating windows at Pinch Pond Family Campground and PA Dutch Country RV Resort. Hershey RV and Camping Resort operates from spring through late October, while Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey stays open year-round with reduced services in the off season, and Camp Swatara runs a seasonal program tied to its warm-weather camps and retreats. Summer is peak: Hersheypark is in full swing, splash pads and pools are open, and weekends fill early. Expect warm, humid days, afternoon thunderstorms, and two- or three-night minimums on weekends and holidays at Thousand Trails properties. Spring and fall are quieter and cooler, with fall foliage along Blue Mountain and Swatara Creek in October. Winters are cold and snowy, and Swatara Creek tubing rentals near the Jonestown KOA are periodically suspended when the creek runs too shallow, so paddling plans should be confirmed with the campground before arrival.

Sites in the Lebanon area lean toward level, full-hookup RV pads with 30 and 50 amp service. Big rigs are well served: the Jonestown KOA offers pull-throughs up to 100 feet, and Hershey RV and Camping Resort has 320 sites spread across 200 acres of rolling farmland with a small on-site fishing lake. Check-in at Thousand Trails properties is generally in the afternoon with an 11 a.m. checkout, and minimum check-in age is 21. Bring proof of RV insurance and registration, since some resorts request it at the gate. Golf carts brought on site typically require registration and proof of insurance. Cell coverage is generally reliable along the I-78 and I-81 corridor, though it thins inside the Hershey resort's valley. Wi-Fi is offered at most parks but is often limited, so plan for streaming and remote work with a personal hotspot as backup.
