Campgrounds and RV parks near Pennville, PA

Pennville sits in York County in south-central Pennsylvania, just outside Hanover and roughly a half-hour drive from Gettysburg. The area places RV travelers within easy reach of Codorus State Park, Civil War battlefields, and the rolling farmland of the Pennsylvania Dutch region. Its location near U.S. Route 30 and Pennsylvania Route 116 makes highway access straightforward for larger rigs. Campground options range from state-run sites at Codorus State Park, which spreads across four loops with sites that accommodate both RVs and tents, to full-service private resorts. Gettysburg Farm RV Campground and Drummer Boy Camping Resort sit a short drive west toward the battlefield, while Cedar Lake Resort and Campground Island offer additional choices closer to the lakes and creeks that shape this part of York County. Most RV renters use Pennville as a quiet base for day trips: Gettysburg National Military Park, the Lake Marburg shoreline, Amish country in Lancaster County, and Hanover's downtown are all within a comfortable radius.

Reservations for Codorus State Park Campground can be made through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system online or by phone, and sites can be booked up to 11 months in advance. Pennsylvania opens reservations 11 months in advance at 12:00 PM Eastern Time, and popular summer weekends often book out the day they become available. Private campgrounds including Gettysburg Farm RV Campground, Drummer Boy Camping Resort, and Cedar Lake Resort take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Holiday weekends and Gettysburg reenactment dates tend to sell out earliest, so lock in dates before finalizing an RV rental. When booking, confirm rig length limits, hookup type (full, water and electric, or non-hookup), and any age or pet restrictions. Campground Island and smaller local sites may have shorter booking windows and limited online availability.
