Campgrounds and RV parks near Pine Grove, PA

Pine Grove sits in Schuylkill County in southeastern Pennsylvania, along the Interstate 81 corridor between Harrisburg and Hazleton. The town is a practical base for RV travelers heading to Hersheypark, the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, or the wooded ridges of the Appalachian range. Most private campgrounds in the area are within a short drive of I-81, which keeps arrival and departure days simple for renters towing or driving larger rigs. The surrounding landscape is defined by Swatara State Park, a 3,520-acre expanse of rolling woodlands set between Blue Mountain and Second Mountain, with Swatara Creek running through the valley. The park anchors most outdoor recreation in the area, and ridge-and-valley terrain means shaded, creek-side sites are common at nearby private grounds. RV renters have several options in the area, including Echo Valley Campground, Camp Swatara, Camp-A-While, Twin Grove RV Resort and Cottages, and the Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey. Most offer full-hookup pull-through sites suitable for rental Class C and travel-trailer rigs.

Private campgrounds in the area take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Twin Grove RV Resort and Cottages and the Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey use online booking with real-time availability. Echo Valley Campground, Camp Swatara, and Camp-A-While generally accept phone and web requests; calling ahead is useful for verifying big-rig access and preferred site selection. Swatara State Park itself has no reservable campground or developed RV facilities, so overnight stays in the area are handled through the private grounds listed above. For summer weekends and any date near Hersheypark events, book six to eight weeks out. Holiday weekends often require booking months in advance and may carry minimum-night stays.
