We had an absolutely fantastic experience renting Skip's RV! From the very beginning, Skip was incredibly friendly, personable, and easy to deal with. He took the time to answer all of our questions and made sure we felt comfortable before heading out on our trip. The RV itself was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing camping vacation. It was clear that Skip takes great pride in keeping it in excellent condition. Our trip couldn't have gone better, and renting from Skip made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to rent from him again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a stress-free RV rental. Thanks again, Skip, for helping make our vacation such a memorable one!

The RV is in amazing shape. It’s got a deep fridge which runs on solar, very comfortable bed. My 5 year old loved it so much that he wanted to move into it. JC also did an amazing job with setup, very through with levelling. He even set up the mat. Gave a clear breakdown of everything I needed to know. He was on time and great with communication. Would definitely recommend and rent from JC again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Lake Country, BC

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Lake Country, BC?

What license do I need to rent an RV in Lake Country, BC?

Good news: a regular Class 5 BC driver's license (or the equivalent from your home province, state, or country) is all you need to rent an RV in Lake Country. No special RV endorsement or commercial license is required for the Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels listed on RVezy. RVezy generally requires renters to be 25 or older, and approved driver verification is handled inside the platform before pickup. Visiting from overseas? Pick up an International Driving Permit before you fly, pair it with your home license, and you are set for your Okanagan adventure.

Is my RV rental in Lake Country protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Lake Country booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance. Protection plans cover physical damage to the RV based on the coverage level you choose at checkout, giving you peace of mind whether you are driving up Beaver Lake Road or parked on the shore of Wood Lake. You, not the host, select the coverage tier, so you can match it to your comfort level. Combined with roadside assistance that is a phone call away if you get a flat on Highway 97, this is one of the biggest reasons first time renters feel confident booking on RVezy.

What is RVezy's cancellation policy for a Lake Country RV trip?

RVezy sets the cancellation policy, not the host, so the same rules apply across every Lake Country listing. Your refund depends on how far in advance of your trip you cancel, and RVezy's support team can step in when something unusual happens, like wildfire evacuations or other emergencies in the Okanagan. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will help you rebook or provide a refund or credit. Because the policy is platform wide, you do not need to compare individual listings. Book early to lock in the best Okanagan summer rigs, knowing the cancellation terms are clearly defined.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Lake Country?

Yes, Lake Country is a great Okanagan stop for dog owners. To find a pet-friendly RV rental Lake Country listing, tick the Pet Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see rigs whose owners welcome your dog, sometimes for a small cleaning fee. Once you arrive, your dog will love the off-leash area at Pebble Beach Regional Park on Wood Lake, the shaded forest trails at Spion Kop, and the lakeside paths around Kaloya Regional Park (leashed). Many local RV parks also allow pets on leash. Message the host before booking to confirm your dog's size and breed are a fit.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Lake Country?

Yes, RV delivery Lake Country is one of the most popular add-ons, especially for first time renters who would rather skip towing a trailer up Highway 97. Many RVezy hosts will deliver your motorhome rental Lake Country or travel trailer to local RV parks like Wood Lake RV Park and Marina, or to a friend's driveway in Oyama or Winfield, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Delivery fees are set by the host and often scale by distance, with some hosts offering free delivery inside Lake Country. Filter listings by Delivery on RVezy, message the host with your campsite address, and your rig will be set up and ready when you arrive.

How far can I drive on an RV road trip from Lake Country?

The Okanagan is one of BC's best launch pads for an RV road trip from Lake Country. Kelowna is about 25 km south (roughly 25 minutes), Vernon is about 25 km north, Penticton is around 85 km south on Highway 97, and Revelstoke is about 200 km east via the Trans Canada Highway. Want bigger adventures? Banff National Park is roughly 575 km east, and Vancouver is about 390 km west. Most RVezy hosts include a daily kilometre allowance (often 150 to 200 km per day) with affordable rates for extra distance, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage. Map your route, message the host, and ask about a custom mileage package.

Where are the best campgrounds near Lake Country to park my RV?

You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Lake Country. Wood Lake RV Park and Marina on Woodsdale Road has beachfront sites with full hookups and a marina. Holiday Park Resort, just south near Kelowna, offers a full resort feel with pools and amenities. Just north on Kalamalka Lake, Kekuli Bay Provincial Park is a stunning BC Parks option with vehicle accessible sites. Other nearby BC Parks options include Ellison Provincial Park and Okanagan Lake Provincial Park. Most fill up early for July and August, so book your campsite first, then your RVezy rental.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Lake Country?

July through early September is peak Okanagan, with warm daytime highs typically in the high 20s C, lake swimming, and ripe cherries and peaches at roadside stands. The best value for RV rental in Lake Country is often late May to late June or mid September to mid October, when temperatures still reach a comfortable 20 to 26 C, campgrounds have availability, wineries are quieter, and rental prices ease. Fall brings the Okanagan harvest and golden larches in the surrounding hills. Winters are cool with occasional snow, so many campgrounds close from mid October through April. Book your shoulder season trip 2 to 3 months ahead for the best selection.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one around Lake Country?

You will be just fine, first time renting an RV in Lake Country is beginner friendly. Your host will give you a hands on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, the water system, propane, slide outs, and dumping, and they are a text message away during your trip. Highway 97 through Lake Country is wide, well maintained, and clearly signed, and most campgrounds have pull through sites so you barely need to reverse. If you are nervous, start with a Class B campervan or smaller Class C, and add delivery so the host parks and levels it for you. Take a short practice loop on Pelmewash Parkway, a quiet lakeside road, to get comfortable behind the wheel.

What happens if I have a breakdown or flat tire during my trip?

You are covered. Every RVezy booking in Lake Country includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on Beaver Lake Road, a dead battery at Kekuli Bay, or a mechanical issue on Highway 97 is one phone call away from being handled. You will also have your host's direct number for questions about anything specific to their RV, and RVezy's support team is available before, during, and after the trip. Local repair shops in nearby Kelowna can handle most RV issues quickly. Snap photos at pickup, save the RVezy support number to your phone, and keep your host on speed dial.

Can I take my Lake Country RV rental across the US border or to other provinces?

In most cases yes within Canada, and sometimes into the US too. Travel throughout BC and into Alberta (think Banff, Jasper, or the Rockies) is allowed with most RVezy hosts in Lake Country, perfect for a longer loop. Cross border trips into Washington, Idaho, or Montana are possible with many hosts but depend on their specific insurance coverage, so message the host directly through the listing before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, since insurance coverage does not extend there. Popular routes from Lake Country include the Powder Highway loop through Revelstoke and Nelson, or south to Glacier National Park in Montana.

What kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?

Budgeting fuel for a Lake Country RV trip is easier than you might think. Class B campervans typically average around 11 to 14 L/100km, Class C motorhomes run roughly 18 to 25 L/100km, and a truck towing a travel trailer is similar to a Class C. Gas in the Okanagan generally runs about $1.60 to $1.90 per litre. For a 4 day, 500 km loop in a Class C, plan on roughly $175 to $250 in fuel. Fill up in Lake Country, West Kelowna, or Vernon (Costco in Kelowna is usually cheapest), and avoid pricier remote stations. Diesel rigs cost more per litre but travel further per tank.

How far in advance should I book a campground in Lake Country?

For summer trips, book your campground as soon as you commit to dates, ideally 3 to 4 months ahead. BC Parks campgrounds like Kekuli Bay, Ellison, and Okanagan Lake open reservations through the Discover Camping system on a rolling window, and prime July and August weekends sell out within minutes. Private parks like Wood Lake RV Park and Marina and Holiday Park Resort also start filling by spring. Shoulder season (May, June, September) is much easier and you can often book 2 to 3 weeks out. Set a calendar reminder for the exact reservation opening time, log in early, and have your dates and rig length ready to go.

What are the driving conditions like in and around Lake Country?

Driving in Lake Country is refreshingly easy compared to a major metro. Highway 97 is a smooth multi lane corridor connecting Kelowna to Vernon and runs right through town, with gentle grades and excellent signage. Pelmewash Parkway along Wood Lake is a scenic, slow speed alternative perfect for sightseeing. Watch for steeper, winding climbs if you head up toward Beaver Lake or Oyama Lake. BC law requires winter or mud and snow tires on most BC highways from October 1 to April 30, so if you are booking a shoulder season RV rental Lake Country trip, confirm tire setup with your host. Check DriveBC for live cameras and road reports before you roll, especially around the Coquihalla if you are coming from the coast.
drivebc.ca/

What amenities do Lake Country campgrounds usually offer?

Most Lake Country campgrounds are well equipped for a comfortable RV stay. At full service parks like Wood Lake RV Park and Marina and Holiday Park Resort you will typically find 30 and 50 amp electrical, fresh water, sewer hookups, hot showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi. BC Parks sites like Kekuli Bay offer electrified sites with potable water taps and a sani-dump on site. Need to dump or refill mid trip? Many private RV parks offer sani-dump service to non guests during office hours, and there are public dump stations in nearby Kelowna and Vernon. Ask your host whether your rig's fresh water tank is full at pickup, then top off at the campground spigot before settling in for the week.
bcparks.ca/kekuli-bay-park/

What's typically included inside an RV rental in Lake Country?

More than you might expect. A typical motorhome rental Lake Country comes ready to camp: real beds (queen or king in many Class Cs), a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet, climate controlled heat and air conditioning, a dinette that often converts to extra sleeping, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many listings include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, camp chairs, and a propane BBQ. Wi-Fi and generators are common add-ons. Each rig clearly lists what is included on its RVezy page, so you can match it to your family RV trip Lake Country plans. Ask the host about a kitchen kit (pots, plates, utensils) so you do not have to pack any.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lake%20Country%2C%20British%20Columbia

What add-ons and options should I consider for my Lake Country RV rental?

A few smart add-ons make any Lake Country RV trip easier. Delivery and setup saves you driving and parking stress and is set by the host based on distance. Linen and kitchen packages mean you can fly into Kelowna International Airport (just minutes from Lake Country) and roll straight to your campsite. Bike racks, paddleboards, kayaks, and generators are popular Okanagan add-ons since you will be on the water often. Most hosts set a mileage allowance of 150 to 200 km per day with reasonable per kilometre rates for extra distance, and pickup or drop off is often flexible by an hour or two. Bundle add-ons in one message to the host before booking and ask if they will discount the package.
ylw.kelowna.ca/

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is handled inside the RVezy platform, so you never hand cash or a credit card to the host. You pay the rental total, taxes, and any add-ons by credit card when you book. A refundable security deposit (amount set per listing) is pre authorized on your card before pickup, not actually charged unless there is an issue, and is released back to you after a successful return. To avoid surprises, do a careful walkthrough video at pickup and drop off, follow the host's mileage and generator policy, return with the fuel and propane levels you started with, and dump tanks if required.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Where can I park or boondock overnight in Lake Country if I'm not at a campground?

Lake Country is a small municipality, so overnight parking on public streets and in municipal parks is generally not permitted. The good news: legal options are close by. Wood Lake RV Park and Marina sometimes has walk in sites if you arrive last minute, and a few big box store lots in the Kelowna and Vernon area may allow a single overnight stay with management's permission, so always ask first. For Crown Land dispersed camping, head up into the Okanagan high country east of town, where camping is generally permitted on BC Crown Land for up to 14 days per site. Always carry your own water and a portable waste tote, and pack out every scrap.
