RV rentals Lac-aux-Sables, QC

RV rental in Lac-aux-Sables is often more affordable than picking up in Quebec City or Montreal. On RVezy, travel trailers in the Mauricie region typically run about $90 to $160 CAD per night, while Class C motorhomes average $180 to $275 CAD per night. Many hosts offer weekly discounts of 10 to 20 percent, which adds up on a 7-day lake trip. For a cheap RV rental Lac-aux-Sables option, filter by travel trailers and book mid-week in June or September to avoid the July peak. Pro tip: bundling delivery to nearby Camping Lac-aux-Sables often costs less than the fuel and stress of towing yourself.

Good news: your regular Class 5 Quebec driver's licence (or equivalent from your home province, state, or country) is all you need to rent an RV in Lac-aux-Sables. No special motorhome endorsement or commercial licence is required for any RV listed on RVezy, including Class A motorhomes and large fifth wheels. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from overseas? Bring your home licence plus an International Driving Permit and you're set. Most first-time renters in the Mauricie region are surprised how quick the approval is, often within a few hours.

Every RV rental in Lac-aux-Sables booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can focus on the lake instead of the what-ifs. RVezy offers multiple protection tiers you select during checkout, and each plan provides financial protection for most physical damage to the RV during your trip. That coverage is especially reassuring heading into rural areas like the Portneuf Wildlife Reserve. Pro tip: choose your protection level before confirming so the daily rate is locked in and you're covered from the moment you drive off.

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy platform-wide (not the individual host), so the terms are consistent across every listing. That's reassuring when planning a Lac-aux-Sables RV trip months in advance, since Quebec spring weather and the May ice-out can shift plans. If a host cancels your reservation, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credit. For details on timelines and refund amounts, review the cancellation policy on the RVezy Help Center before booking. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Mauricie inventory, knowing the policy is transparent and applied the same way for every guest.

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental Lac-aux-Sables options are plentiful, since this is dog country: lakes to swim, trails to sniff, and quiet backroads to walk. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see only listings where the host welcomes pets, and message them with your dog's size and breed for a quick confirmation. La Mauricie National Park permits leashed pets on most trails and in campgrounds, including the Rivière-à-la-Pêche area. Pro tip: pack a long lead and keep a towel by the door, because the sandy shoreline at Lac aux Sables will tempt your dog into a swim.

Yes, RV delivery Lac-aux-Sables is one of the most popular options on RVezy and a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many Mauricie hosts will tow or drive the unit straight to Camping Lac-aux-Sables, the Portneuf Wildlife Reserve, or a private cottage lot, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system. Delivery fees are set by each host and are typically based on distance from their home base. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see eligible listings instantly. Pro tip: ask for setup-and-pickup service so you never have to back into a wooded site or dump tanks yourself.

You can absolutely turn your base in Lac-aux-Sables into a wider Quebec road trip. Each host sets their own mileage policy on RVezy, with many Mauricie listings offering daily kilometre allowances and some featuring RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal if you want to explore. From Lac-aux-Sables you're roughly 90 km from Trois-Rivières, 160 km from Quebec City, 240 km from Mont-Tremblant, and about 230 km from Montreal. Filters on RVezy let you sort by mileage policy before you book. Pro tip: if you're planning a loop through the Laurentians and Charlevoix, message hosts directly to ask about a flat mileage package for the week.

You're spoiled for choice on RV camping Lac-aux-Sables options. Camping Lac-aux-Sables on Rue Cloutier offers waterfront and forested sites with electrical and water hookups, a sandy beach, and lake swimming right out your door. La Mauricie National Park's campgrounds, including Rivière-à-la-Pêche and Mistagance, sit about an hour south and offer serviced and unserviced loops in a stunning Canadian Shield setting. The nearby Mastigouche and Portneuf wildlife reserves managed by SEPAQ provide quieter, more rustic RV-friendly sites in deep forest. Pro tip: book waterfront sites by February for July and August, as they sell out first.

The sweet spot for an RV trip to Lac-aux-Sables is mid-June through early September, when daytime highs typically sit between 22 and 26 °C and the lake is warm enough for swimming. Most local campgrounds operate roughly from mid-May to mid-October, so shoulder-season trips in late May or late September reward you with quieter trails, golden Mauricie foliage, and lower nightly rates. Winters here are cold (January lows often near -20 °C) with heavy snow, so most RVs are winterized and off the road from November through April. Pro tip: the last two weeks of September deliver peak fall colour across the Portneuf hills, perfect for a quiet lakeside week.

Yes, and Lac-aux-Sables is one of the friendlier places in Quebec to learn. Roads like Route 367 and Chemin Sainte-Marie are wide, lightly trafficked, and lined with farmland and forest rather than city traffic. Your RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, hookups, slide-outs, propane, and dumping, and stays reachable by message throughout your trip. If nerves are still high, choose a Class B campervan or a smaller 22-foot travel trailer, both of which drive close to a regular vehicle. Pro tip: arrive at your campsite before 4 p.m. on day one so you're parking and leveling in daylight, with energy to spare for the lake.

You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on Route 153 or a dead battery at the Mastigouche Reserve gate is a phone call, not a crisis. Roadside can coordinate tows, jump-starts, lockouts, tire service, and fuel delivery across the Mauricie region, including remote stretches between Saint-Tite and Lac-aux-Sables. Your host is also a direct resource for quirks of their specific RV, and RVezy support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number and your host's contact in your phone before leaving the driveway, since cell coverage thins out toward the wildlife reserves north of Lac-aux-Sables.

Cross-border road trips from Lac-aux-Sables are possible but require the host's written approval before booking, since protection coverage must extend into the United States. Many Quebec hosts happily say yes for trips into Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine; just message them from the listing page first. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because coverage doesn't extend there. Popular cross-border routes from Lac-aux-Sables include heading south through Stanstead into Vermont's Lake Champlain region or east toward Maine's Moosehead Lake area. Pro tip: bring your passport, vehicle registration, and a copy of the host's written cross-border permission to make the customs stop quick and painless.

Fuel is one of the easier line items to plan here. Class C motorhomes in the Mauricie typically average 18 to 25 litres per 100 km, while pickups towing travel trailers often see 20 to 28 L/100 km on hilly routes like 155. Gas in the Lac-aux-Sables area can run slightly higher than Quebec City prices, so consider topping up in Saint-Marc-des-Carrières or Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade before heading north. A 500 km Mauricie loop usually costs roughly $130 to $200 CAD in fuel depending on the rig. Pro tip: choose a delivered RV that stays parked at your campground all week to cut your fuel bill dramatically, leaving more budget for poutine and microbrews.

Book earlier than you'd think. SEPAQ reservations for La Mauricie National Park and the Portneuf and Mastigouche wildlife reserves open months in advance for the summer season, and serviced sites for July and August often fill within days. Camping Lac-aux-Sables takes reservations directly through its own channels, and lakefront sites typically sell out by early spring. For a flexible last-minute Lac-aux-Sables RV trip, target Sunday-through-Thursday stays in late June or after Labour Day. Pro tip: pair an RVezy delivery booking with a reserved campsite so your host knows exactly where to drop and set up, no campground hunting on arrival day.

Driving around Lac-aux-Sables is genuinely pleasant: low traffic, scenic two-lane roads, and well-maintained provincial routes like 153 and 367. The biggest things to watch for are deer and moose at dawn and dusk (especially on Route 363 toward the Mastigouche Reserve), occasional logging trucks, and a few steep grades climbing out of river valleys. Some side roads to private cottages are gravel and tight, which is another reason RV delivery Lac-aux-Sables is so popular. Winter driving is generally not recommended for RV renters. Check Québec 511 for live road conditions before any long leg. Pro tip: avoid narrow cottage roads after dark, when wildlife is most active.

Most Lac-aux-Sables area campgrounds are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Camping Lac-aux-Sables offers electrical and water hookups, Wi-Fi at many sites, restrooms with showers, laundry, a playground, and a sandy beach with watercraft rentals. La Mauricie National Park has serviced and unserviced loops, potable water fills, and dump stations. SEPAQ wildlife reserve sites tend to be more rustic, so plan to arrive with full fresh water. Pro tip: confirm whether your site offers 30-amp or 50-amp service before booking, since older Mauricie campgrounds may only offer 15/30-amp, which matters if your rental has dual roof ACs.

You'll be impressed. A typical motorhome rental Lac-aux-Sables booking includes a queen or king bed, a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet, dining seating that converts to extra beds, a TV, and often a generator or solar setup for off-grid nights. Travel trailers in the area generally sleep 4 to 8 and include the same essentials minus the engine. Seatbelts are present for designated travel seats in motorhomes (passengers must ride in motorhomes only, never in trailers). Many hosts also stock dishes, linens, and outdoor chairs. Pro tip: message your host to confirm coffee maker, BBQ, and Wi-Fi hotspot details before your Mauricie trip so you arrive packed light.

Plenty, and they make the trip easier. Common add-ons on a campervan rental Lac-aux-Sables booking include delivery and setup, kitchen kits, linen and towel packages, bike racks, kayak or SUP rentals, generators, propane top-ups, and tank cleaning if you'd rather not dump. Pickup is usually at the host's home in an afternoon window, with drop-off the following morning. Mileage allowances range from a per-day limit to unlimited depending on the listing. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, linens, and tank cleaning into one host package so you can simply show up at Camping Lac-aux-Sables with groceries.

Payment on RVezy is straightforward and secure: you pay the full rental amount through the platform when you book (never directly to the host in cash), and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your credit card before pickup. The deposit is separate from the booking payment and is released after a clean return per RVezy's policy. Keeping all communication and payment on RVezy is what activates your protection plan and roadside coverage. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos of the RV's interior and exterior at pickup and drop-off, so any deposit questions are resolved quickly.

An RV road trip from Lac-aux-Sables opens up some of Quebec's most beautiful drives. Head about an hour south to La Mauricie National Park for waterfalls and canoe lakes, roughly 90 km southeast to Trois-Rivières for old-town charm and the Saint-Maurice River, around 160 km east to Quebec City for cobblestone streets and Montmorency Falls, about 240 km west to Mont-Tremblant for mountain biking and chairlift rides, or further northeast into Charlevoix for whale watching at Tadoussac. Most are reachable in a half day or less. Pro tip: build a loop, Lac-aux-Sables to Mauricie to Quebec City to Charlevoix and back, for a one-week Quebec sampler that's hard to beat.
