2021 Thor Motor Coach Class C
The owners of the RV were kind and honest people. They were generous enough to be super flexible with the pickup and drop off times which was extremely helpful (i'm sure they cant do this for EVERYBODY, but they did for me). The RV was clean and everything worked well! Overall a great experience, we would definitely rent from them again in the future.

Perfect little unit for road trips and camping! The van was comfortable and reliable. The van is well equipped woth utensils, dishes and tools, just load up the fridge and go anywhere! The solar powered battery was always charged and had plenty of power. Our host was welcoming and very helpful, everything worked as expected with zero issues. AC blows cold and the fridge works great! Thanks Kailen! We would camp with your van again in a heartbeat!

2020 Coleman Travel Trailer
Justin was a great host. He took the time to walk me through setup of the camper so I was comfortable with the operation during towing as well as the power accessories, lighting, refrigerator/freezer, speakers and bathroom. Justin also had the camper fully stocked with clean bedding, kitchen tools, toilet paper and even some games. We will definitely reserve with Justin in the future.

We are relatively new to the camper life, and Joe helped get us situated and made sure we had a great time! Strong communication, quick responses and ready to answer any questions we had throughout our trip. The RV itself is well taken care of, clean, and functional. Awning and awning lights were a super bonus! Also cool that he had the shrek DVD available (among others). Would love to rent from Joe again.

Susan was an excellent host and the teardrop was the perfect camper for our trip. We used this rental as a test run for eventually building one ourselves and it’s safe to say we’re sold on the idea! Susan was also very flexible on the pickup and drop off times which made the trip very easy on both ends.

Yadean was such a great and attentive host, any questions we had he was quick to answer and van was absolutely amazing. So easy to drive (even for me and I’m 5 ft!) and everything was so thoughtfully designed. We feel so spoiled to have gotten to take the rocky roamer on our adventure, 1000% worth it.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Commerce City, CO
How much does an RV rental in Commerce City typically cost?
RV rental in Commerce City is often more affordable than booking hotels in nearby Denver. Travel trailers usually run about $90 to $160 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275, and larger Class A coaches start around $250. Cheap RV rental in Commerce City is easiest to find in April, May, late September, and October, when Front Range demand cools and weekly discounts appear. Booking three to four weeks ahead of a Broncos or Rockies weekend helps keep prices reasonable. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book and look for hosts offering local delivery, which can offset campground fees and Denver International Airport parking costs. Many hosts also include camp chairs, kitchenware, and bedding in the base rate.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Commerce%20City%2C%20ColoradoWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Commerce City, Colorado?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Commerce City. Colorado does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special RV endorsement for motorhomes and trailers used recreationally. On RVezy, approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and identity verification is handled directly through the platform during checkout, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from abroad? An International Driving Permit paired with your home-country license keeps things smooth. Most first-time renters finish verification within minutes, so you can focus on planning your route into the Rockies.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs my RV rental protected if something goes wrong on the trip?
Yes. Every RVezy booking in Commerce City includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head onto I-70 with peace of mind. The protection plan covers most accidental damage to the RV, and you choose the coverage level that fits your trip during checkout. Whether you are heading up to Rocky Mountain National Park or parking near Dick's Sporting Goods Park for a Rapids match, you are backed up. This is not traditional auto insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection for renters. Pro tip: choose a higher-tier plan for mountain driving, where rock chips and gravel are part of the Colorado experience.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Commerce City RV rental?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy applies a clear cancellation policy to every reservation, including a money-back grace period after you book, so you can lock in dates with confidence. Cancellation outcomes depend on how far in advance you cancel and on extenuating circumstances, which matters in Colorado where late-spring snowstorms or wildfire smoke can change plans quickly. The cancellation policy is set by RVezy and applies consistently across all listings, so you do not have to compare host-by-host. Pro tip: if a Front Range blizzard is in the forecast, reach out to RVezy support early since weather-related situations are reviewed case by case.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Commerce City?
Absolutely. Pet-friendly RV rental in Commerce City is easy to find: toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see many listings whose hosts welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). Commerce City is a great dog town: the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge sits right in your backyard with leashed-dog trails, and Cherry Creek State Park in nearby Aurora has a large off-leash dog park, one of the biggest in the country. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and breed notes, then pack a collapsible water bowl because Colorado's dry air at 5,200 feet of elevation means your pup will drink more than usual.
fws.gov/refuge/rocky-mountain-arsenalCan the RV be delivered to my campground or Denver International Airport?
Yes. RV delivery in Commerce City is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for travelers flying into Denver International Airport (DEN), which sits roughly 15 miles east. Many local hosts will drop off the motorhome at DEN, your hotel, or directly at campgrounds like Cherry Creek State Park or Chatfield State Park, then handle setup and a full walkthrough so you never have to back a 30-foot rig into a site. Use the Delivery filter to see which hosts offer this. Pro tip: ask about delivery to your first campground and pickup from your last; it removes the first-day learning curve and is a game changer if it is your first time renting an RV.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Commerce%20City%2C%20ColoradoHow far can I drive, and what are the mileage policies?
Plenty far. Most Commerce City hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is perfect for a bigger Colorado loop. To put that in perspective: Rocky Mountain National Park is about 75 miles northwest, Colorado Springs and Garden of the Gods are 75 miles south, Great Sand Dunes National Park is around 230 miles, and Mesa Verde is roughly 390 miles southwest. Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.45 each, so estimate your route before booking. Pro tip: if you are planning an RV road trip from Commerce City that loops through Aspen or Durango, filter specifically for unlimited-mileage listings; you will save significantly versus paying per-mile overage.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/directions.htmWhere should I stay on my Commerce City RV trip?
You are spoiled for choice. Some of the best campgrounds near Commerce City include Cherry Creek State Park Campground in Aurora (full hookups, year-round, 20 minutes south), Chatfield State Park Campground in Littleton (electric/water/sewer with reservoir access, about 25 miles southwest), Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood (electric sites and swim beach), Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden (full hookups, easy Red Rocks access), and St. Vrain State Park near Longmont with stocked fishing ponds and Rocky Mountain views. Pro tip: Colorado state park sites book up six months out for summer weekends; reserve the moment your window opens through Colorado Parks and Wildlife's reservation system. For overnight in town, Cabela's parking in nearby Thornton has historically allowed self-contained RVs to stay one night with manager permission.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/CherryCreekWhen is the best time of year for RV camping in Commerce City?
Late May through early October is the sweet spot for RV camping in Commerce City and the surrounding Front Range. July highs average in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit with low humidity and long, sunny days, while September delivers crisp 70-degree afternoons and golden aspens in the high country. Spring (April to mid-May) and fall shoulder seasons bring cheaper rentals and uncrowded campgrounds, though you should pack for surprise snow at elevation. Winter trips are possible if your rental has heated tanks and you stick to year-round full-hookup parks like Cherry Creek. Pro tip: aim for mid-September to catch the Rocky Mountain Arsenal bison rut and peak aspen color along the Peak to Peak Highway.
weather.gov/bou/I have never driven an RV. Will I be okay?
You will be more than okay. First time renting an RV in Commerce City is genuinely beginner-friendly because every host gives you a full pickup walkthrough covering driving, hookups, slide-outs, and the dump process, plus their phone number for the whole trip. Start with a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer (22 to 28 feet) if you are nervous; they drive much like a large pickup. Commerce City sits on flat plains east of I-25, so you can practice on wide arterials like 104th Avenue before heading west. Pro tip: take your first day easy with a short drive to Cherry Creek or Barr Lake State Park, get comfortable backing in, then tackle the mountain passes on day two with confidence.
codot.gov/travelWhat happens if I get a flat tire or break down on the road?
You are covered. Every RVezy rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection package, so a flat on I-70 near Georgetown or a dead battery at a trailhead is just a phone call away from help. Roadside dispatches tow trucks, tire service, jump-starts, lockout help, and fuel delivery across Colorado's highway network. Your host is also typically reachable for quick troubleshooting questions like resetting the generator or the propane regulator. Pro tip: program both the RVezy support line and your host's number into your phone before leaving Commerce City, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate; this turns a 45-minute roadside call into a five-minute one.
codot.gov/travel/colorado-road-conditionsCan I take my Commerce City rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is standard. Most Commerce City hosts welcome trips into Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Kansas, and Nebraska, opening up classic routes like Commerce City to Yellowstone (about 560 miles), Moab (350 miles), or Mount Rushmore (385 miles). Crossing into Canada is sometimes allowed but depends on the individual host and insurance terms, so confirm in a pre-booking message. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage does not extend across the southern border. Pro tip: a popular RV road trip from Commerce City is the Four Corners loop through Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, and Durango, which keeps you in coverage area while hitting four states in one week.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goWhat should I budget for fuel on a Colorado RV trip?
Fuel is one of your biggest line items, but it is manageable. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class A coaches 6 to 8, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 mpg while towing). Gas prices in Commerce City have recently hovered around $3.10 to $3.50 per gallon, slightly below the Colorado average, thanks to the local Suncor refinery. For a 500-mile loop to Rocky Mountain National Park and back, budget roughly $175 to $225 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Commerce City or Brighton before heading west; prices jump 30 to 60 cents per gallon once you climb past Idaho Springs into the high country.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Commerce City?
Earlier than you think. Colorado Parks and Wildlife opens reservations six months in advance through their online system, and prime summer weekends at Cherry Creek, Chatfield, and St. Vrain State Parks fill the morning they release. For July and August Front Range trips, book your campsites the same week you book your RV. Weekday nights and shoulder-season weekends are far easier, often available just a few days out. Pro tip: set up an account on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife reservation site before your booking window opens so you are not fumbling with logins at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Time. Private parks like Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden also fill fast for Red Rocks concert weekends.
cpw.state.co.us/buyapply/Pages/Camping.aspxWhat are the local driving conditions like around Commerce City?
Commerce City itself is easy: flat, gridded streets, wide industrial roads, and quick access to I-76, I-270, and I-70. The real Colorado driving begins when you head west. I-70 climbs from 5,200 feet in town to 11,158 feet at the Eisenhower Tunnel in under 60 miles, so expect lower power, longer braking distances, and posted chain laws in winter. Afternoon thunderstorms roll across the plains from late June through August, often with hail. Pro tip: drive west early in the morning (before 9:00 a.m.) to beat both ski traffic and afternoon storms, and use the CDOT app for live road conditions over Vail and Loveland Passes. Cruise control is your friend on the flat run to Limon or Cheyenne.
codot.gov/travel/colorado-road-conditionsWhat amenities should I expect at campgrounds near Commerce City?
Front Range campgrounds are well-equipped. Cherry Creek and Chatfield State Parks offer full or partial hookups (electric, water, sometimes sewer), flush restrooms, hot showers, dump stations, and potable water fill points. Private parks like Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden and Denver East/Strasburg KOA add laundry, Wi-Fi, propane refills, and pools. Most state park sites have 30-amp service; 50-amp is common at private parks for bigger rigs. Dump stations are usually free for registered campers and around $10 to $15 for drop-ins. Pro tip: top off fresh water at your campground rather than in town, since Commerce City water tastes mineral-heavy. Camping World on Federal Boulevard offers tank dumps and propane for a small fee if you need a mid-trip pit stop.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/ChatfieldWhat is actually inside a typical Commerce City RV rental?
More than you would guess. A typical motorhome rental in Commerce City sleeps four to seven and comes with a real bed (often a queen), a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, propane stove, microwave, and sink, a wet bath with toilet and shower, dinette seating with seatbelts, an awning, roof and dash air conditioning, and a furnace for chilly Colorado nights. Most include a generator or solar for off-grid power, and many hosts add TVs and Bluetooth stereos. Wi-Fi is sometimes included via mobile hotspot. Campervan rental in Commerce City (Class B) keeps it simpler with a galley kitchen, convertible bed, and stealth dimensions great for Front Range trailheads. Pro tip: review the listing photos and amenities list closely so you know exactly what is included before you book.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Commerce%20City%2C%20ColoradoWhat add-ons and pickup logistics should I plan for?
Commerce City hosts offer popular add-ons that make life easier: linen and towel kits, kitchen packages, generator hours, bike racks, camp chairs, portable grills, and starter propane. Delivery to Denver International Airport, your home, or a campground is commonly priced per mile round trip. Pickup is usually a 30- to 60-minute walkthrough at the host's property where they cover driving, hookups, slide-outs, and the dump process. Mileage policies range from around 100 free miles per night up to unlimited mileage on some listings; pick what matches your route. Pro tip: bundle linens and a generator package if you are heading to non-hookup sites like those in Golden Gate Canyon State Park; both pay for themselves in comfort.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Commerce%20City%2C%20ColoradoHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and fully online. You pay through RVezy with a credit or debit card at the time of booking; cash and side-payments to hosts are not permitted, which keeps everything secure and tracked. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, not charged outright, and released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. To avoid issues, do a thorough walk-around video at pickup and return, dump the tanks before bringing it home, and refill fuel and propane as agreed. Pro tip: confirm cleaning fee and return condition expectations with your host upfront so there are zero surprises when you hand back the keys after your Commerce City RV trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksHow do I handle Colorado's summer heat and high-altitude sun in an RV?
With a little planning, it is easy. Commerce City summers regularly hit the upper 80s and low 90s with intense high-altitude sun at about 5,200 feet, but Front Range humidity is low so shade and airflow go a long way. Most motorhome rentals in Commerce City include roof air conditioning that works great on shore power; on battery or generator, run AC during peak afternoon and crack roof vents at night when temps drop into the 50s. Park nose-to-sun and deploy the awning on the long side for a cool living area. Pro tip: drive west toward Estes Park or Idaho Springs for the hottest stretches; you will gain 3,000 plus feet of elevation and drop 10 to 15 degrees, turning a sweaty afternoon into perfect patio weather.
