2021 Thor Motor Coach Class C
The owners of the RV were kind and honest people. They were generous enough to be super flexible with the pickup and drop off times which was extremely helpful (i'm sure they cant do this for EVERYBODY, but they did for me). The RV was clean and everything worked well! Overall a great experience, we would definitely rent from them again in the future.

2020 Crossroads Travel Trailer
We are relatively new to the camper life, and Joe helped get us situated and made sure we had a great time! Strong communication, quick responses and ready to answer any questions we had throughout our trip. The RV itself is well taken care of, clean, and functional. Awning and awning lights were a super bonus! Also cool that he had the shrek DVD available (among others). Would love to rent from Joe again.

2020 Crossroads Travel Trailer
Joe and his family roadstead were a great experience. He communicated well and delivered to the local state park. Even setting everything up for us by the time we arrived. It was stocked full with all the entertainment and cooking tools one could hope for on a camping trip with the family. The AC in the 100 degree weather was a godsend.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Elizabeth, CO
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Elizabeth, CO?
An RV rental in Elizabeth is one of the more affordable ways to explore the Front Range. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $80 to $130 per night, Class C motorhomes run roughly $150 to $250 per night, and larger Class A rigs trend higher. You will also see service and cleaning fees plus a refundable security deposit at checkout. To save, book mid-week, travel in the shoulder months of late April or September, and use the price filter to find a cheap RV rental Elizabeth families love. Many Elbert County hosts offer multi-night discounts, so a 5 to 7 night booking often beats the per-night rate of a weekend trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Elizabeth,ColoradoWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Elizabeth, Colorado?
Your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Elizabeth, Colorado. Colorado does not require a special endorsement or commercial driver's license for personal motorhomes, travel trailers, or campervans you'll find on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older and verify their ID through the RVezy platform during booking, which takes only a few minutes. International visitors are welcome with a valid home-country license. If it's your first time renting an RV, ask your host for a longer walkthrough at pickup. Most Elizabeth hosts happily spend 30 to 45 minutes showing you the ropes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RV rental insurance and roadside help included in Elizabeth?
Yes, every RVezy booking in Elizabeth comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included, so you can hit Highway 86 with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover damages to the vehicle during your trip, and you select your coverage level (not the host) during checkout. Roadside support handles things like flat tires, lockouts, and battery jumps wherever you are, whether you're at Cherry Creek State Park or rolling down I-25. Coverage is designed specifically for RV trips and gives renters substantial financial protection. Choose your protection level based on your route: mountain trips toward Pikes Peak benefit from the higher tier.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat's the cancellation policy if my Elizabeth RV trip falls through?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy on every reservation, with a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your Elizabeth RV trip with confidence. Because RVezy (not the individual host) manages cancellations, the experience is consistent no matter which listing you choose. If a host cancels, you receive a full refund or travel credit. You'll see full cancellation details during checkout and in your RVezy account. Elbert County weather can shift fast in spring, so book a little earlier than you think you need to and keep an eye on CDOT travel alerts heading into your trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an Elizabeth RV rental?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental Elizabeth dog owners can count on is easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll see listings where furry passengers are welcome (a small pet fee may apply per host). Elizabeth is a great base for dog travelers: Castlewood Canyon State Park, about 15 miles west, allows leashed dogs on most trails, and Cherry Creek State Park has a popular off-leash dog area with over 100 fenced acres. Message the host before booking to confirm size or breed preferences, and pack a tie-out stake. Many Elizabeth-area campgrounds have grassy sites perfect for setting one up.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/CherryCreekStateParkCan the RV be delivered to my campsite or driveway in Elizabeth?
Yes, RV delivery Elizabeth travelers love is offered by many local hosts, which is a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Filter listings by Delivery and the host will tow or drive the rig directly to your campground, a friend's property in Elbert County, or Jellystone Park at Larkspur about 25 miles southwest. They'll level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees typically scale with distance from Elizabeth. Delivery is especially smart for travel trailers and fifth wheels if you don't have a tow-rated truck, since you can skip the hitching learning curve and just enjoy your stay.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Elizabeth,ColoradoHow far can I drive on my Elizabeth RV rental?

nps.gov/romo/index.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Elizabeth, CO?
You're spoiled for choice. Some of the best campgrounds near Elizabeth include Jellystone Park at Larkspur about 25 miles southwest with water park amenities and full hookups, Cherry Creek State Park about 25 miles northwest with a reservoir for swimming and full camping facilities, Castlewood Canyon State Park for day-use hiking and picnicking, Chatfield State Park west of Littleton with 197 sites and electric hookups, and the Colorado Springs KOA Holiday about 35 miles south. cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/CherryCreekStateParkWhen is the best time of year for an Elizabeth RV trip?
Late May through early October is the sweet spot for RV camping Elizabeth visitors enjoy most, with daytime highs in the 70s and 80s and cool nights perfect for campfires. July and August hover near 82F by day and dip to the mid-50s at night, ideal for sleeping with the windows open at Elizabeth's 6,500-foot elevation. September brings golden aspen drives and fewer crowds. Winters get genuinely cold (lows in the teens with snow), but several four-season hosts still rent for snowy adventures. Book mid-June for the best mix of green prairie, wildflowers along the Palmer Divide, and dry roads. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer, so plan hikes for the morning.
weather.gov/bou/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Elizabeth?
You've got this. Elizabeth is one of the friendliest places in Colorado to learn, with wide-open county roads, low traffic on Highway 86, and no big-city congestion. Your RVezy host will give you a thorough walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, hookups, slide-outs, and tank dumping, and they're a text away during your trip. For a first time renting an RV, consider a travel trailer delivered and set up for you, or a smaller Class C motorhome that drives much like a large truck. Do a practice loop around the quieter roads near Elbert County Fairgrounds before merging onto I-25. Twenty minutes of practice builds huge confidence.
codot.gov/safetyWhat happens if something breaks down during my Elizabeth RV trip?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you get a flat on Highway 86, lock the keys inside at Castlewood Canyon, or run into engine trouble headed toward Pikes Peak, one phone call gets help dispatched to your location. Your host is also your best resource for quirks unique to their rig, and most respond within minutes. RVezy support is available before, during, and after every trip. Snap photos of your hookups and connections at pickup so you have a visual reference if something acts up on the road. Cell service is solid throughout most of Elbert County, but download offline maps before heading into the mountains.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Elizabeth RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, most hosts welcome multi-state adventures, which is great news because Elizabeth is a fantastic launchpad. From here, Wyoming is about 150 miles north, New Mexico is roughly 300 miles south, Utah's national parks sit 400 to 500 miles west, and Kansas is 200 miles east. Canada trips may be allowed depending on the host and protection package, so message before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance coverage limits. Popular RV road trip from Elizabeth routes include the Mighty 5 loop through Utah and a southern Colorado swing through Great Sand Dunes and Mesa Verde. Confirm cross-border details directly in the listing chat to keep everything smooth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on an Elizabeth RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable, but it's easy to plan for. Class C motorhomes around Elizabeth average 8 to 12 MPG, Class B campervans get 16 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG combined). Colorado gas prices typically run near or slightly above the national average, so budget around $3.50 to $4.00 per gallon as a planning estimate. A 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C runs roughly $120 to $150 in fuel. Fill up in Elizabeth or Parker before heading into the mountains, where prices climb noticeably in towns like Estes Park and Buena Vista.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Elizabeth?
For the best sites, book early. Colorado Parks and Wildlife opens reservations 6 months in advance through cpw.state.co.us, and popular spots like Cherry Creek State Park and Chatfield State Park fill quickly for summer weekends and holidays. Private parks like Jellystone at Larkspur can usually be booked 1 to 3 months out, though July 4th and Labor Day go fast. Pike National Forest sites open 6 months ahead via Recreation.gov. If you strike out on a Saturday night, try a Sunday-to-Thursday trip instead. Availability is dramatically better and many private campgrounds discount weekday rates by 10 to 20%.
recreation.gov/What are driving conditions like around Elizabeth, CO?
Driving here is refreshingly easy. Elizabeth sits on the Palmer Divide at about 6,500 feet, surrounded by rolling prairie and gentle ridges, so you won't tackle steep mountain passes unless you choose to head west. Highway 86 between Franktown and Kiowa is the main route, a two-lane road with light traffic. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms and hail in summer, strong west winds in spring, and occasional snow squalls between November and March. Wildlife crossings, especially deer, are real at dawn and dusk. If you're heading toward Rocky Mountain National Park or Pikes Peak, check CDOT's COtrip app before leaving Elizabeth. Trail Ridge Road closes seasonally, and I-70 westbound can back up on Friday afternoons.
codot.gov/travelWhat amenities do campgrounds near Elizabeth offer?
You'll find a great mix. Full-hookup private parks like Jellystone at Larkspur provide 30/50 amp electric, water, sewer, hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and dump stations onsite. Colorado state parks like Cherry Creek and Chatfield typically offer electric and water at most sites plus centralized dump stations and potable water fills (no individual sewer hookups). Pike National Forest campgrounds further west are usually dry camping with vault toilets. Most parks also have picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-aware food storage guidance. If your rig needs a dump and fill between trips, several travel centers in the Denver metro offer pay-per-use dump stations, no overnight stay required.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/Pages/Camping.aspxWhat's included inside an Elizabeth RV rental?
More than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental Elizabeth host will provide a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, cookware, dishes), a bathroom with toilet and shower, sleeping for 4 to 8 people depending on the rig, heat and air conditioning, a dinette, and usually a TV. Many include a generator for off-grid power, outdoor camp chairs, and basic linens. Class B campervans pack the essentials into a smaller footprint, while Class A and Class C motorhomes offer full bedrooms and slide-outs. Seatbelts are provided for designated travel seats. Check the listing's amenities section carefully and message the host about extras like Starlink Wi-Fi, bike racks, or an outdoor grill. Many Elizabeth hosts offer these as free add-ons or low-cost upgrades.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Elizabeth,ColoradoWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
Hosts in Elizabeth offer a long list of useful extras to make your campervan rental Elizabeth experience smoother. Common add-ons include bedding and towel packages ($25 to $50), kitchen kits, generators, propane fills, bike racks, kayaks, fire pits, Starlink Wi-Fi, and pet packages. Pickup is usually at the host's property in Elbert County, with most offering a 30 to 45 minute walkthrough. Delivery to your campsite or home in the Denver metro is also widely available. Mileage allowances typically range from 100 to 150 free miles per night, with unlimited options on some listings. Bundle a few add-ons when you book rather than adding later. Hosts often discount packages, and locking it in upfront means everything's ready and stocked when you arrive.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Elizabeth,ColoradoHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Elizabeth, CO through RVezy, you pay the rental total via credit card through the platform (never directly to the host), and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before the trip starts. Deposits typically range from $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig and are separate from the booking payment. As long as you return the RV in the agreed condition, with the agreed fuel and mileage, the hold is released after the trip ends. Take a quick video walkthrough of the RV inside and out at both pickup and return. It takes 2 minutes and gives you solid documentation if any questions come up about the deposit later.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Elizabeth during winter?
Yes, and winter trips here can be magical. Several Elizabeth hosts rent year-round, and four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and strong furnaces handle Colorado's cold well. Daytime winter highs typically range from the 30s to 50s with snowy stretches, and overnight lows can dip into the single digits at Elizabeth's 6,500-foot elevation. Many winter renters base out of Elizabeth and head to nearby ski areas like Echo Mountain (about 50 miles west) or further to Breckenridge (about 100 miles west). Ask hosts specifically about heated tanks, shore power requirements, and whether the rig has been winterized or de-winterized for your dates. Plug into 30 or 50 amp shore power overnight whenever possible to keep the furnace running efficiently without draining the battery.
