Incredible Adventure with The Roam Wagon! We had an amazing experience renting the Roam Wagon! From start to finish, everything was seamless. This little trailer was clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable camping trip — including a cozy rooftop tent, solar powered generator, fridge & kitchen essentials, bathroom and many other thoughtful extras that made a big difference. Towing and parking the trailer was easy, and hooked up to our 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks Sasquatch it handled both highways and scenic backroads like a champ. Whether we were camping off-grid or staying at sites with hookups, the setup made it incredibly flexible and fun. The owner, Justin, was fantastic to communicate with — super responsive, helpful, and clearly passionate about making sure renters have a great time. We really appreciated the detailed orientation and tips before we hit the road. If you’re looking for a fun, reliable, and stylish way to explore, we highly recommend the Roam Wagon. It definitely made our trip unforgettable. We’d rent it again in a heartbeat!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Evans, CO

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Evans, CO?

RV rental in Evans is one of the more affordable ways to explore Northern Colorado and the Front Range. On RVezy, you'll typically see travel trailers from around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $275, and larger Class A rigs from $250 to $400, with campervans landing somewhere in between. To find a cheap RV rental in Evans, target shoulder months like late April, May, or September when Weld County demand softens but the weather is still great. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book and look for hosts offering unlimited mileage if you're planning a Rocky Mountain loop, since the savings add up fast on Colorado's long scenic drives.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Evans, Colorado?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Evans, Colorado. The Colorado DMV only requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for commercial use, so personal RV rentals, including Class A, Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels under 26,001 pounds, are covered by a standard Class R license. On RVezy, you'll just need to be 25 or older and upload your license through the platform for quick ID confirmation. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how easy the process is, so you can focus on planning the fun stuff.

What protection is included with my Evans RV rental?

Every RV rental in Evans booked through RVezy comes with a protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built right in, so you can hit I-25 or US-34 toward the Rockies with confidence. The protection plan helps cover most damages to the vehicle during your trip, giving you serious peace of mind without the cost of a separate policy. While booking, you'll choose from multiple protection tiers so you can match coverage to your comfort level, whether you're sticking around Greeley or planning a bigger Colorado RV trip. Pro tip: if it's your first time renting an RV, consider a higher-tier plan, since the small daily upcharge is well worth it for a relaxing first adventure.

What is the cancellation policy if my Evans RV trip plans change?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets one standard cancellation policy that applies across every listing, so you're not guessing how an individual host might react. There's a money-back grace period after booking, plus structured refund tiers based on how far out your trip is. If a host cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit so you're never left stranded. That means you can lock in your Evans RV rental early, when the best motorhomes go fast for summer Rocky Mountain trips, without worrying that life will throw you a curveball. Pro tip: book as soon as you know your dates, then finalize campground reservations second, since flexibility is built into the platform either way.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Evans?

Absolutely, your dog is welcome on plenty of trips. Many Evans hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Evans, and you can find them in seconds by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. Once you arrive, your pup will love that Evans sits right next to Riverside Park along the South Platte River, with paved walking paths perfect for morning strolls. Heading into the mountains? Chatfield State Park and Boyd Lake State Park both allow leashed pets at campsites, while Rocky Mountain National Park restricts dogs to paved roads and parking areas, so plan day hikes accordingly. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and any breed or size notes so check-in is smooth.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or home in Evans?

Yes, RV delivery in Evans is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you've never towed or driven a big rig before. Many Evans hosts will drop the RV directly at your driveway, a Greeley-area campground, or a destination like Boyd Lake State Park in Loveland, then level it, hook up utilities, and walk you through every system before they leave. To find delivery-friendly listings, use the Delivery filter on RVezy and check each host's delivery radius and per-mile fee. Pro tip: if you're flying into Denver International Airport (about 70 miles south), book a host who delivers to your first campground so you can skip the city driving altogether.

How far can I drive on my Evans RV trip, and how does mileage work?

You've got plenty of range for an unforgettable Colorado RV trip. Evans hosts each set their own mileage policy, and you'll see daily mileage allowances clearly listed on every RVezy listing, with many offering RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer adventures. From Evans, Rocky Mountain National Park's Beaver Meadows entrance is about 65 miles west via US-34 through Estes Park, downtown Denver is roughly 60 miles south on I-25, Cheyenne, Wyoming is just 50 miles north, and Colorado Springs sits about 130 miles south. Pro tip: if you're planning a multi-stop RV road trip from Evans to Estes Park, Grand Lake, and back via Trail Ridge Road, choose a listing with at least 150 to 200 miles per day or unlimited to keep your budget predictable.

Saint Vrain State Park near Firestone (about 30 miles southwest) features lakeside sites with electric hookups. For mountain views, head to Estes Park KOA Holiday or one of Rocky Mountain National Park's RV-friendly campgrounds: Moraine Park, Aspenglen, Glacier Basin, and Timber Creek. Closer to home, several private RV parks around Greeley and Evans offer full hookups as a relaxed base for RV camping in Evans. Pro tip: weekends fill fast in summer, so reserve your favorite spot the same day you confirm your RVezy booking.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Evans, Colorado?

Late May through early October is the sweet spot for an Evans RV trip, with daytime highs from the upper 70s to high 80s and cool, comfortable nights perfect for campfires. July and August are warmest, often hitting the upper 80s with the occasional afternoon thunderstorm rolling off the Front Range, while June and September deliver near-perfect weather and lighter crowds at Rocky Mountain National Park. Winters here are cold, with January lows around 15°F and snow possible from November through March, but many hardy travelers love a quiet shoulder-season getaway. Pro tip: book a September trip to catch golden aspens along Trail Ridge Road, one of Colorado's most spectacular fall drives, before the road closes for winter.

I've never rented an RV before. How do I know what to do?

You're going to do great, and you won't be left to figure it out alone. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through how to operate the generator, slide-outs, water hookups, propane, holding tanks, leveling, and the awning, plus tips specific to driving in northern Colorado. You can also message the host before booking with any first time renting an RV questions, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: for a confidence-building first run, plan a short trip from Evans to Boyd Lake State Park (just 25 miles) so you can practice setup before tackling mountain routes like the climb to Estes Park.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/index.htm

What happens if something goes wrong on the road during my trip?

You're covered around the clock. Every Evans RV rental on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so whether you've got a flat tire on US-85, a dead battery at a Greeley campground, or a mechanical hiccup climbing toward Estes Park, help is one call away. Your host is also a great first resource for quick questions about quirks of their specific rig, and RVezy's support team is there if you need to escalate. Pro tip: snap photos of every RV system during your walkthrough and save your roadside assistance number to your phone before you leave, so you're ready to roll if anything pops up on Trail Ridge Road.

Can I take my Evans RV rental to Wyoming, Utah, or other states?

Yes, an RV road trip from Evans into neighboring states is absolutely possible, and it's one of the best perks of renting on RVezy. Most hosts allow travel throughout the continental United States, with popular runs including Cheyenne and Yellowstone in Wyoming, Moab and Arches National Park in Utah, and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Cross-border trips to Canada may be allowed depending on the host, so confirm directly in the listing's message thread. Pro tip: ask your host upfront if you're planning to cross state lines so they can flag any mileage or route notes specific to their rig before you book.

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Budgeting fuel is easier than you'd think. Most Class C motorhomes you'll rent in Evans average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, campervans get 16 to 22, and larger Class A rigs run 6 to 10 MPG. Colorado gas prices have hovered around $4.10 to $4.35 per gallon recently, according to AAA Colorado, with diesel typically a dollar higher. For a 500-mile loop from Evans through Estes Park, Grand Lake, and back, plan roughly $200 to $300 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in Evans or Greeley before heading to the mountains, since prices climb noticeably in resort towns like Estes Park and Grand Lake.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Evans?

For peak summer weekends in Colorado, earlier is always better. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) opens campsite reservations exactly six months in advance at cpwshop.com for parks like Boyd Lake, Saint Vrain, and Chatfield, and popular sites disappear within minutes of release. Rocky Mountain National Park campgrounds (Moraine Park, Aspenglen, Glacier Basin, Timber Creek) also book up to six months out via Recreation.gov, with about 40% of sites re-released the day before arrival at 5 p.m. MDT. Private parks like Evans RV Park take direct reservations year-round. Pro tip: lock in your RVezy booking first, then reserve the campground the same day, since flexibility on the RV side gives you room to adjust around availability.
cpw.state.co.us/camping

What are driving conditions like around Evans and into the mountains?

Driving an RV out of Evans is refreshingly straightforward. The town sits on flat plains along the South Platte River with easy access to US-85 and a short hop to I-25, so you can build confidence on open roads before climbing into the foothills. Heading west to Estes Park on US-34 brings a steady, manageable grade through Big Thompson Canyon. Trail Ridge Road inside Rocky Mountain National Park tops out at 12,183 feet and closes seasonally from mid-October to late May. Summer afternoons can bring quick thunderstorms and hail on the Front Range. Pro tip: check CDOT's COtrip.org for real-time road conditions and avoid mountain driving after 2 p.m. when storms are most likely.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Evans?

You'll find a great mix of options. Private RV parks around Evans and Greeley typically offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric), Wi-Fi, and laundry. Colorado state parks like Boyd Lake and Saint Vrain typically provide 30/50-amp electric, potable water fill stations, and dump stations, though sewer hookups vary by site. Inside Rocky Mountain National Park, Moraine Park, Timber Creek, Aspenglen, and Glacier Basin offer no hookups but include dump stations and potable water fills when open seasonally. Pro tip: top off your fresh water and dump tanks before heading into RMNP, since in-park services are seasonal and lines can get long midday in July and August.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/camping.htm

What features and amenities come inside the RVs available in Evans?

Evans RV rentals come surprisingly well equipped. Most Class C motorhomes and travel trailers on RVezy sleep 4 to 8 with a queen bed, convertible dinette, and bunk options, plus a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a wet or dry bath with toilet and shower, air conditioning, and a furnace, which is essential for cool Colorado nights even in summer. Many listings include a generator, solar setup, outdoor speakers, and seatbelted seating for highway travel. Wi-Fi and a TV are common on newer rigs. Pro tip: when comparing campervan rental Evans options versus larger motorhomes, check the listing's sleeps count and seatbelt count carefully if you're traveling as a family, since not every seat is travel-rated.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about for a motorhome rental Evans?

You can customize your motorhome rental Evans experience to fit exactly what you want to do. Popular host-provided add-ons include camp chairs and tables, bedding and linen kits, kitchen packages, bike racks, generators, propane refills, Starlink Wi-Fi, and pet cleaning fees. Many Evans hosts also offer convenient pickup at their location near Greeley or paid delivery to your campground, Denver International Airport, or anywhere within their service radius. Mileage policies range from around 100 miles per day included up to unlimited, with overage fees commonly in the $0.30 to $0.45 per mile range. Pro tip: bundle bedding, kitchen, and chairs as an all-in package, since many hosts discount the combo over individual add-ons.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and fully handled through the RVezy platform. You'll pay your rental total securely online when you book (no cash or off-platform payments), and a refundable security deposit is placed on hold a few days before your trip, then released after the RV is returned in the same condition. Deposit amounts vary by RV class and are clearly shown on every listing before you book. To avoid issues, do the pre- and post-trip photo walkthrough with your host, follow the mileage and generator-hour policies, and return the RV with the agreed fuel and waste-tank levels. Pro tip: take a quick video of every interior and exterior surface at pickup, so any pre-existing scuffs are documented and your deposit comes back fast.

Is winter RV camping near Evans possible, and how do I prep for cold weather?

Winter RV camping is a quiet, magical option around Evans if you're up for an adventure. Moraine Park Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park stays open year-round (first-come, first-served in winter), and several Colorado state parks keep loops open with restrooms and year-round dump stations. To stay cozy, look for RVezy listings described as four-season or winter-ready with heated holding tanks, an enclosed underbelly, and a reliable furnace, plus shore power capability for plugging in at full-hookup parks near Evans. Pro tip: travel with a heated water hose and skip filling the fresh tank if temperatures drop below 20 degrees F, and ask your host for cold-weather operating tips during the walkthrough.
