Perfect little unit for road trips and camping! The van was comfortable and reliable. The van is well equipped woth utensils, dishes and tools, just load up the fridge and go anywhere! The solar powered battery was always charged and had plenty of power. Our host was welcoming and very helpful, everything worked as expected with zero issues. AC blows cold and the fridge works great! Thanks Kailen! We would camp with your van again in a heartbeat!

Justin was a great host. He took the time to walk me through setup of the camper so I was comfortable with the operation during towing as well as the power accessories, lighting, refrigerator/freezer, speakers and bathroom. Justin also had the camper fully stocked with clean bedding, kitchen tools, toilet paper and even some games. We will definitely reserve with Justin in the future.

2020 Crossroads Travel Trailer
We are relatively new to the camper life, and Joe helped get us situated and made sure we had a great time! Strong communication, quick responses and ready to answer any questions we had throughout our trip. The RV itself is well taken care of, clean, and functional. Awning and awning lights were a super bonus! Also cool that he had the shrek DVD available (among others). Would love to rent from Joe again.

2020 Coleman Travel Trailer
We just returned from a wonderful three night trip. The RV is exactly as described, if not better to be honest. The host and his family have gone out of their way to provide amenities that are really additive to the entire rental experience - things like extra toilet paper, cooking utensils, pots, and pans, paper, goods, etc. We really enjoyed the thorough overview that Justin provided us upon pick up so that we felt completely comfortable having control throughout our trip. We look forward to renting with this host again!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Welby, CO
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Welby, CO?
RV rental in Welby is one of the most affordable ways to explore Colorado's Front Range. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers from about $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $275 per night, and Class A motorhomes from $275 to $450 per night. Because Welby sits just off I-25 between Denver and Thornton, the inventory is large, which keeps prices competitive. For a cheap RV rental in Welby, book midweek, target shoulder seasons (April to May or late September), and filter by smaller travel trailers. Many hosts offer weekly discounts of 10 to 20 percent, so a 7-night booking often beats stringing together weekends.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Welby%2C%20ColoradoDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Welby, Colorado?
Great news for first-time renters: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Welby. Colorado does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special endorsement for motorhomes or travel trailers under 26,000 pounds, which covers every RV on the RVezy platform. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely during checkout. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home country's license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association, usually under $20. That's it, no road tests, no rental classes, no waiting periods.
dmv.colorado.gov/drivers-licenseWhat protection is included with my RV rental in Welby?
Every RV rental in Welby booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you're covered from the moment you drive off. During checkout, you'll choose from multiple protection plan tiers, with higher tiers offering lower deductibles and broader coverage for accidental damage to the RV. Roadside assistance handles flat tires, lockouts, jump-starts, and towing across Colorado, whether you're cruising I-25 toward Denver or climbing US-285 into the foothills. Pick your protection level, pack your bags, and go.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Welby RV trip plans change?
You can book your Welby RV rental with confidence because RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every trip, not individual hosts. There's a money-back grace period right after booking, and refund amounts after that depend on how far in advance you cancel. The full policy details are available on the RVezy Help Center and are shown at checkout, so you'll see exactly what applies before you confirm. If a host cancels, RVezy refunds the guest or provides travel credits. Booking early to lock in your preferred RV in the Denver metro carries very little risk.

Yes, Welby is a great base for a pet-friendly RV rental in Colorado. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see many hosts in the Denver metro who welcome dogs with a small pet fee, typically $25 to $75 per stay. Message the host before booking if you have a large breed so they can confirm the fit.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/CherryCreekCan the RV be delivered to my campground or home in Welby?
Yes, RV delivery in Welby is a popular option on RVezy and a great choice for first-time renters. Filter by Delivery and you'll see hosts who will tow or drive the RV directly to your driveway, a Denver-area campground, or Denver International Airport (DEN), about 30 minutes east. They'll level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees typically run $2 to $5 per mile from the host's location, and many hosts offer free delivery within a set radius of Welby. It's the easiest way to skip driving a big rig through Denver traffic.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Welby%2C%20ColoradoHow does mileage work, and how far can I drive from Welby?

cpwshop.com/When is the best time to visit Welby for RV camping?
Welby has a high-plains semi-arid climate with plenty of sunshine, so the RV season here is long. Late April through mid-October is prime, with summer highs averaging in the mid-80s to low 90s Fahrenheit and cool nights perfect for campfires. June and September are sweet spots: wildflowers and lower crowds in June, golden aspen drives and stable weather in September. July afternoons often bring quick thunderstorms (usually clearing by evening), and August is peak monsoon. Winter RV camping near Welby is doable with a four-season rig, since daytime highs often reach the 40s. Local tip: avoid arriving on Friday afternoons when I-70 westbound jams with weekend ski traffic.
weather.gov/bou/I've never driven an RV before. Is it really doable?
Yes, and first time renting an RV is easier than most people expect, especially out of Welby. Every RVezy host gives you a full orientation at pickup: how to drive, dump tanks, run the generator, level the rig, and troubleshoot basics. Most first-timers pick a 24-28 foot Class C motorhome or a small travel trailer because they drive much like a large van. From Welby, head north on I-25 or east toward the plains to get comfortable before tackling mountain passes. Your host is just a text away during your trip, and RVezy's 24/7 support backs you up. Most renters say the first hour behind the wheel is the only nervous part.
codot.gov/travelWhat happens if I break down or have trouble on the road?
You're never on your own. Every Welby RV rental on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing across Colorado and beyond. One phone call dispatches help to wherever you are, whether that's a parking lot in Thornton or a switchback near Trail Ridge Road. Your host is also a resource for quirks specific to their rig, and RVezy's customer support team is reachable before, during, and after your trip. Save the RVezy support number to your phone before you roll.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Welby RV rental into another state or across the border?
Interstate travel is welcome on most rentals. Many hosts allow an RV road trip from Welby into Wyoming (Cheyenne is about 100 miles north), Utah (Moab is about 350 miles west via I-70), New Mexico (Taos is about 230 miles south), Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota's Black Hills, or Yellowstone (about 560 miles). Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed with advance host approval and additional documentation, so message the host before booking if that's your plan. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Confirm your route with your host so they can flag any mileage adjustments or routing tips.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Welby RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to budget for a Welby RV trip. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 10 MPG, Class A rigs 6 to 9 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG combined). Colorado gas prices in the Denver metro generally track close to the national average. For a 4-night trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and back (about 200 miles), budget roughly $80 to $120 in fuel for a midsize Class C. Local tip: Costco in Thornton and Sam's Club in Northglenn, both within about 10 minutes of Welby, consistently have some of the lowest fuel prices in the area.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground in Colorado?
Book early and you'll have your pick of the best spots. Colorado State Parks, including Cherry Creek, Chatfield, and Golden Gate Canyon, open reservations on a 6-month rolling window through Colorado Parks and Wildlife's reservation system (CPW Shop). Rocky Mountain National Park campgrounds book through Recreation.gov 6 months out and can fill within minutes for July and August weekends. Private RV parks near Welby (KOAs, Jellystone, Denver North Campground) usually have more flexibility but still fill on summer holiday weekends. Pro tip: if you strike out, check Recreation.gov daily at 8 AM Mountain Time for last-minute cancellations, which are surprisingly common.
recreation.gov/What are local driving conditions like around Welby and Denver?
Driving an RV around Welby is straightforward, with a few smart-move tips. I-25 and I-76 are flat, wide, and easy in your rig, and US-36 to Boulder is a smooth 25-minute cruise. Avoid downtown Denver streets and the Lower Highlands area where height clearances under bridges can drop to 11 feet. If you're heading west, I-70 through the foothills is fine for any RV but climbs steeply past Idaho Springs, so use lower gears and watch your temperature gauge. Summer afternoon thunderstorms can dump hail, so pull off if it gets heavy. Winter driving requires checking CDOT's COtrip app for chain laws on mountain passes before you go.

Most private parks (Denver North Campground, Dakota Ridge RV Park, Prospect RV Park) offer full hookups (30/50-amp electric, water, sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, and propane refills. Colorado State Parks like Cherry Creek and Chatfield typically have electric hookup sites with shared water spigots and on-site dump stations. Public dump stations are easy to find at travel centers in Aurora and Commerce City, and at most state parks for a small fee. Fresh water fill is available at most campground offices. Pickup is usually at the host's location in the Welby, Thornton, or Commerce City area, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough. Dropoff is typically at the same location at the agreed-on time, and late returns may incur a fee. Filter by Instant Book on RVezy to confirm your dates immediately without waiting on host approval.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Welby%2C%20ColoradoHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and fully secured through RVezy: you pay the rental total at booking with a credit or debit card. The security deposit is separate from the booking payment and is typically placed as a hold on your card before pickup, often ranging from $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV's value. It is released after dropoff assuming no damage or extra mileage. To avoid surprises, take date-stamped photos at pickup and dropoff, return with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and stay within your mileage allowance. Hosts and renters communicate any issues through the RVezy platform, which keeps everything documented.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trip routes from Welby for first-time RVers?
Welby's location at the north edge of the Denver metro makes it a great launchpad. The easiest first trip is the roughly 70-mile run northwest to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park via US-36, a scenic but manageable drive with gradual elevation gain. For a longer family RV trip Welby loop, head south on I-25 to Colorado Springs (about 75 miles) for Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, then continue to Great Sand Dunes National Park (about 235 miles). Trail Ridge Road and the San Luis Valley are also within reach. Local tip: leave Welby before 7 AM on weekends to beat the I-70 mountain rush and enjoy a smoother drive.
