The RV was fantastic and Josh was a great host! We were his first booking and you never would’ve known. He was super thorough in the walk-around going through the RV and the intricacies of the truck (it has air brakes!). Once on the road, it was super easy to drive, if you can say that about a 36’ Super C! The air ride seat made it really comfy and the adaptive cruise made it super easy to navigate from the driver side. And the kids and wife loved the onboard generator to watch TV, heat up some food, use the restroom, and even sleep while en route to our destination. When it’s time for another adventure, we’ll definitely be reaching out to Josh to rent again! Highly recommend Josh and his RV.

This was a wonderful experience. We camped in beach areas as well as wooded by a lake and this van was comfortable, reliable and REALLY easy to drive. We went to Atlanta, also, to the aquarium and navigating the city was easy as pie in this thing. The owners are INCREDIBLY nice and the communication is some of the best I’ve ever seen across things like this app, AirBnB, etc. Great people, great van, great experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Vinings, GA

How much does an RV rental in Vinings, GA actually cost?

RV rental in Vinings, GA is often more affordable than Atlanta-area hotels, with nightly rates typically starting around $95 to $150 for travel trailers and $175 to $275 for Class C motorhomes. Towable RVs are usually the most budget-friendly option in Vinings since you can tow them with a capable SUV or truck. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Vinings, GA?

Good news: a standard Georgia Class C driver's license is all you need to drive virtually every RV on RVezy in Vinings, including Class A motorhomes, Class C motorhomes, campervans, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. Georgia does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal-use recreational vehicles. To rent on RVezy you generally need to be 25 or older and upload a clear photo of your license through the app for quick verification. Visiting from abroad? An International Driving Permit paired with your home-country license works perfectly. Most first-timers are surprised how quickly approval moves once documents are uploaded.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Vinings instead of picking it up?

Yes, RV delivery in Vinings is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather skip Atlanta's I-285 traffic in an unfamiliar rig. Many local hosts will drop a motorhome or travel trailer at your Vinings driveway or at popular campgrounds such as Stone Mountain Park Campground, Red Top Mountain State Park, or Army Corps sites around Lake Allatoona. They will level the RV, connect hookups, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just enter your delivery address when searching and filter by Delivery to see hosts who offer it. Pro tip: ask about delivery directly to your Lake Allatoona campsite to skip towing entirely.

Where are the best campgrounds near Vinings for my RV trip?

Vinings is surrounded by excellent RV camping options, most within an hour's drive. Stone Mountain Park Campground (about 25 miles east) offers full-hookup and partial-hookup sites with lakeside views and the park's famous laser show. Red Top Mountain State Park (about 30 miles north on Lake Allatoona) has pull-through sites with water and electric. Sweetwater Creek State Park (about 20 miles southwest) offers a quiet, wooded RV loop. Atlanta West Campground and several Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds on Lake Allatoona round out the close-in options. For a fall-foliage favorite, Vogel State Park in the Blue Ridge mountains (about 90 miles north) is hard to beat. Book Georgia State Parks through ReserveAmerica up to 13 months in advance.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Vinings, GA?

Vinings enjoys one of the longest RV seasons in the country, with comfortable camping from late March through early November. Spring (March to May) brings dogwood blooms and highs in the 60s to low 80s, while fall (September to early November) delivers cooler nights, fewer bugs, and excellent leaf color in the north Georgia mountains. Summer is hot and humid (highs in the upper 80s to low 90s), so look for an RV with strong air conditioning and a 30 or 50 amp shore-power site. Winter is generally mild (40 to 60 degree highs) and offers shoulder-season pricing. Pro tip: October weekends near Helen and Blue Ridge book out fast, so reserve your campervan rental in Vinings six to eight weeks ahead.

I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay on my first trip?

You've got this, and you won't be doing it alone. First time renting an RV is one of the most common scenarios on RVezy, and every Vinings host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup or delivery covering driving tips, hookups, the propane system, the awning, slide-outs, and dumping tanks. Most renters say it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to feel comfortable. If you're nervous about Atlanta traffic, start with a Class B campervan or smaller Class C, and ask the host to deliver to your campground so your first drive can be on a calmer day. You can also message hosts directly from any listing before booking; they are real RVers and enjoy helping newcomers.

What happens if I have a problem on the road?

Every motorhome rental in Vinings booked through RVezy includes round-the-clock roadside assistance for flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical issues, so you're covered whether you're at Lake Allatoona or up in the Blue Ridge mountains. Your host is also a direct resource for quick questions like where the fuse box is, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after every trip. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before you leave Vinings and snap a photo of the RV's VIN plate so any call can be handled quickly.

What's a popular RV road trip from Vinings, GA?

Vinings is one of the best RV launch pads in the Southeast. A few favorite RV road trips from Vinings: head about 95 miles north to Helen and Unicoi State Park for Bavarian charm and tubing the Chattahoochee; drive about 115 miles northwest to Chattanooga, TN for Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee Aquarium; cruise about 200 miles north to Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most-visited national park in America; or run about 250 miles southeast to Savannah and Skidaway Island State Park for coastal Georgia. Cross-border travel into Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida is allowed on most listings; just confirm with your host. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals.
nps.gov/grsm/index.htm

What should I budget for fuel on my Vinings RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on an RV trip, but it's easy to plan for. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A motorhomes run 6 to 10 MPG. Georgia gas prices are often below the national average, so topping off before you cross into Tennessee or North Carolina is a smart move. For a typical weekend trip from Vinings to Lake Allatoona and back (about 60 miles round trip), expect roughly $20 to $40 in fuel for most rigs. Pro tip: use GasBuddy and fill up along I-75 near Cartersville for some of the most competitive diesel and gas prices in the region.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I reserve a campground near Vinings?

Book your campground as soon as your RV is locked in, especially for weekends. Georgia State Parks like Red Top Mountain, Sweetwater Creek, and Stone Mountain take reservations up to 13 months ahead through ReserveAmerica, and lakeside sites for summer and fall holidays can fill quickly once they open. Federal Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds on Lake Allatoona and Lake Lanier book through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance. For best campgrounds near Vinings on short notice, try Tuesday through Thursday arrivals or set up a free cancellation alert. Pro tip: weekday Lake Allatoona sites at Payne Campground sometimes have last-minute availability even in summer.
recreation.gov/

What's it like driving an RV around Vinings and Atlanta?

Vinings is one of the more RV-friendly suburbs of Atlanta because you can hop onto I-285 or I-75 without threading through downtown. That said, avoid driving inside the I-285 perimeter during weekday rush hours (roughly 7 to 9 AM and 4 to 7 PM) when traffic is famously slow. Watch for posted low clearances on some Atlanta surface-street bridges and stick to interstate-marked truck routes for tall rigs. Atlanta drivers move fast, so leave extra following distance. Pro tip: if you're nervous about city driving, choose RV delivery in Vinings to your campground so your first miles behind the wheel are on calmer rural highways heading toward the mountains or lakes.
dot.ga.gov/DS/Travel

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Vinings?

Campgrounds in Vinings and the greater Atlanta area are well equipped for RVs of every size. Georgia State Parks like Red Top Mountain and Sweetwater Creek offer water and 30/50-amp electric hookups, hot-shower comfort stations, on-site dump stations, and laundry. Private parks like Atlanta West Campground and Stone Mountain Park Campground add full sewer hookups, swimming pools, Wi-Fi, and cable at many sites. For dumping or filling fresh water on travel days, several Love's and Pilot Flying J locations along I-75 north of Vinings offer public dump stations. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot drinking-water hose, a sewer hose support, and a surge protector; most Vinings hosts include these, but it never hurts to double-check the listing.

What's actually inside the RVs I can rent in Vinings?

Plenty of comfort, even in the smaller rigs. RVs available in Vinings, GA range from cozy Class B campervans (sleeping 2 to 4, with a kitchenette, wet bath, and dinette) to family-sized Class C and Class A motorhomes (sleeping 6 to 8, with full kitchens, queen beds, separate bathrooms, roof A/C, and TVs). Most include a refrigerator, microwave, propane stove, fresh-water tank, generator or shore-power hookup, and seatbelted travel seats. Many hosts include outdoor chairs, a BBQ, and starter supplies. What add-ons and pickup options are available for my rental?

Hosts in Vinings offer a flexible menu of add-ons to customize your trip: linens and towels, kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, kayaks, propane refills, portable Wi-Fi hotspots, and sometimes pre-stocked groceries. Add-on pricing is shown clearly on each listing. Pickup is typically at the host's home in Vinings, Smyrna, or Marietta, with drop-off windows arranged through the RVezy app. If you want zero hassle, choose Delivery and Setup at checkout and the host will bring the RV to your campsite. Mileage policies are listed up front on every page. Pro tip: bundling delivery, a generator, and linens turns a Vinings RV trip into an almost prep-free family vacation.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card at the time of booking, never directly to the host, so there is a clear record and dispute path if needed. A refundable security deposit (the amount is shown on each listing and typically ranges from a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after return, assuming no damage or extra fees. To avoid issues, do a pre-trip walkaround video with the host, return the rig at the agreed fuel and propane level, dump the tanks, and clean up before drop-off. Pro tip: keep your fuel and dump receipts as proof.
