Kyle was outstanding. I rented his RV through RVezy for my wedding day, and it ended up being one of the best decisions we made. I wanted a comfortable, fun place for me and my groomsmen to hang out before the wedding, and Kyle completely delivered. He was enthusiastic about the idea from the beginning, very accommodating, and made me feel like he genuinely cared about helping make the day special. He drove about 1.5 hours to deliver the RV, arrived on time, communicated clearly the whole way, and even let me know when he was about an hour out. The RV was spotless, and he gave me a detailed walkthrough so I knew exactly how to use everything — audio, Bluetooth, A/C, bedrooms, propane, grill, all of it. On top of that, he went above and beyond by bringing a handmade cornhole set for us to use at no extra charge. That kind of thoughtfulness and customer service is rare. If you’re considering renting from Kyle, do it. He’s professional, reliable, generous, and clearly takes a lot of pride in giving people a great experience. I’d happily rent from him again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Clarksville, IN

How much does an RV rental in Clarksville cost?

An RV rental in Clarksville is one of the most affordable ways to explore southern Indiana and the Louisville metro area. On RVezy, travel trailers in the Clarksville area typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A coaches run $250 to $400 nightly. Hosts set their own pricing, so shoulder seasons like April and October usually deliver the best value. To score a cheap RV rental in Clarksville, filter by travel trailers, book midweek, and look for hosts offering weekly discounts. What license do I need to rent an RV in Clarksville, Indiana?

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Clarksville. Indiana does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal recreational use of motorhomes, campervans, travel trailers, or fifth wheels under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every rig on RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older to book, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform when you reserve. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit from your home country's auto association before your trip and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the whole process is, often under 10 minutes from booking to confirmation.

What happens if I need to cancel my Clarksville RV rental?

You can book your Clarksville RV trip with confidence. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy for every booking, and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book, so a quick change of plans won't cost you. Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Clarksville is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll see hosts who welcome dogs and other pets, often with details on size limits or small cleaning fees in the listing. Once you've got your rig, southern Indiana is a dog's paradise: the Falls of the Ohio State Park interpretive trails allow leashed pets along the fossil beds, the Ohio River Greenway connecting Clarksville to Jeffersonville and New Albany is perfect for morning walks, and Charlestown State Park (about 15 miles north) has miles of dog-friendly woodland trails. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet rules and ask about nearby pet-friendly campgrounds like Louisville North Campground just across the river.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Clarksville?

Yes, RV delivery in Clarksville is offered by many RVezy hosts, and it's a game-changer for first-time renters. Filter listings by Delivery and you'll find hosts who will bring the motorhome or travel trailer straight to your campsite, driveway, or event location, set it up, level it, connect hookups, and walk you through everything before they leave. This is especially popular for guests heading to Charlestown State Park, Deam Lake State Recreation Area, or Louisville North Campground just across the Ohio River. Delivery fees usually depend on distance, often calculated per mile from the host's home base. Pro tip: delivery is the smartest move if you're nervous about driving a big rig through Louisville metro traffic on the Kennedy or Lewis and Clark Bridges.

Where are the best campgrounds near Clarksville, Indiana?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Clarksville. Top picks include Louisville North Campground (just minutes across the Ohio River with full hookups and a pool, open year-round), Charlestown State Park (about 15 miles north with electric sites and excellent hiking along the Ohio River bluffs), Deam Lake State Recreation Area (about 20 miles northwest with a beach and electric sites), and O'Bannon Woods State Park (about 35 miles west, near the Blue River and Wyandotte Caves). Pro tip: state park sites book up fast for summer weekends, so reserve through the Indiana DNR camping reservation system up to 6 months in advance.

When is the best time for an RV trip from Clarksville?

Late April through mid-October is the sweet spot for an RV road trip from Clarksville, with peak conditions in May, September, and early October. Spring (April-May) brings highs in the 65-75°F range and dogwoods blooming along the Ohio River, summer (June-August) is hot and humid with average highs near 87°F in July and heat index values that can climb past 100°F, and fall (mid-September through October) delivers colorful foliage with comfortable 60-75°F days. Winter rentals are available too, with January lows around 26°F, perfect for a cozy weekend if your RV has a furnace and heated tanks. Pro tip: visit the second week of October when fall colors typically peak across southern Indiana and campsites are easier to grab.

I've never rented an RV before. Is Clarksville a good place to start?

Clarksville is a fantastic spot for first time renting an RV, and you're not on your own. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, water and propane systems, slide-outs, leveling, and dump procedures before you leave. You can also message hosts before booking with any question, no matter how basic. For nervous first-timers, southern Indiana's flat-to-rolling terrain and the wide lanes of Interstates 65 and 64 make driving easier than mountain states. Choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer if you want maximum confidence. Pro tip: book a campground within 30 minutes of Clarksville for your first night so you can settle in without a long drive on day one.

What if something breaks down during my Clarksville RV trip?

You're never stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you've got a flat on Highway 62 near Corydon, a dead battery at the Falls of the Ohio parking lot, or a tow situation on Interstate 65, one phone call gets help dispatched. For appliance hiccups (fridge not cooling, slide-out stuck, water pump quirks), your host is usually the fastest resource and most will respond quickly through the RVezy messaging system. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: do a quick walk-around with the host at pickup and snap photos of every system in action, that way if something acts up later, you'll remember exactly how it should look working.

Can I take my Clarksville RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, crossing state lines is absolutely fine and one of the best things about an RV rental in Indiana. Clarksville sits right on the Kentucky border (the Ohio River is the state line), so trips into Louisville, Mammoth Cave, Bourbon Trail country, and even down to Nashville, Tennessee are common. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and protection plan, so message the host directly before booking if it's part of your plan. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance and protection coverage limits. Pro tip: popular drives from Clarksville include Louisville's Bourbon Trail area (about 15 minutes), Mammoth Cave (about 1.5 hours), and Great Smoky Mountains National Park (about 4.5 hours south).

How much should I budget for fuel on a Clarksville RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier parts of budgeting your motorhome rental in Clarksville. Expect roughly 7-10 miles per gallon (mpg) for a Class A, 10-14 mpg for a Class C, 16-20 mpg for a campervan rental in Clarksville, and 12-15 mpg for a truck towing a travel trailer. Indiana gas prices typically run close to the national average, and Clarksville has plenty of large fuel stations along Lewis and Clark Parkway, I-65, and US-31 that easily accommodate big rigs. For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget around $90-$120 in fuel. Pro tip: use GasBuddy to compare prices between Clarksville and just-across-the-river Louisville, where prices can differ noticeably depending on tax cycles.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Clarksville?

For the best campgrounds near Clarksville, book as early as you can, especially for state parks. Indiana DNR opens campsite reservations up to 6 months in advance through camp.IN.gov, and popular spots like Charlestown State Park and O'Bannon Woods fill up fast for summer weekends and fall foliage season. Private parks like Louisville North Campground typically take reservations 3-6 months ahead and are essential to lock down for Kentucky Derby weekend (first Saturday in May), when every site within an hour of Louisville sells out. Pro tip: holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) often require a multi-night minimum at Indiana state parks, so plan accordingly.
camp.IN.gov/

What are driving conditions like around Clarksville?

Driving an RV around Clarksville is genuinely easier than most metro areas. The terrain is gently rolling with elevations between 400-700 feet, the interstates (I-65, I-64, and I-265) are wide and well-maintained, and there are no mountain passes to worry about. The main thing to know: the Kennedy Bridge and Lewis and Clark Bridge into Louisville accommodate standard-height RVs without issue. Avoid downtown Louisville's narrow side streets and instead use I-265 to bypass the urban core. Summer thunderstorms (June-August) can be intense, so check the forecast before long drives. Pro tip: rush hour on the bridges into Louisville (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.) gets congested, so plan to cross outside those windows.
in.gov/indot/current-conditions/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Clarksville?

Campgrounds in the Clarksville area are well-equipped for a comfortable RV camping experience. Private parks like Louisville North Campground offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), bathhouses, laundry, Wi-Fi, and dump stations. Indiana State Parks like Charlestown and Deam Lake provide electric sites (typically 30/50-amp) with centralized water spigots, modern restrooms with showers, and on-site dump stations, though full hookups at individual sites are less common. Most state park campgrounds have a camp store for firewood and basics. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot drinking water hose and a 30-amp to 50-amp adapter (or vice versa), since some state park sites require longer reaches than typical private park spots.

What's included inside a typical Clarksville RV rental?

Most RVs you'll find on RVezy in Clarksville come well-equipped for a comfortable trip. Expect comfortable beds (queen or king in the bedroom, plus convertible dinette or bunk options), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with air conditioning and furnace, and seatbelts for travel passengers. Most listings include a TV, and many offer Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor speakers, awnings, and generators (helpful for boondocking or tailgating at Louisville Cardinals games). Linens, kitchenware, and outdoor chairs are often included or available as add-ons. Pro tip: check the listing's amenities list carefully, and message the host to confirm specifics like whether the generator is propane or fuel-powered, especially if you're planning to camp without hookups.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Clarksville,Indiana

What add-ons and pickup options should I expect?

RVezy hosts in Clarksville typically offer a menu of helpful add-ons to customize your trip: bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits with pots, plates, and utensils, camping chairs and outdoor gear, generator use, propane refills, and even bikes or kayaks at some listings. Delivery and setup fees vary by distance from the host. Pickup is usually at the host's home or a mutually agreed location near Clarksville, with the host providing a full walkthrough (typically 30-45 minutes). Mileage policies vary, with many hosts offering generous daily allowances and reasonable per-mile rates beyond that. Pro tip: bundle add-ons at booking rather than buying gear separately, it's almost always cheaper than running to a store mid-trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Clarksville,Indiana

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment for your RV rental in Clarksville is simple and secure through the RVezy platform. You pay by credit or debit card right at booking, and the funds are held safely until your trip begins, so no cash or e-transfers directly to hosts. A refundable security deposit is placed on your card before the trip starts (amounts vary by RV), and it's released back to you after the host confirms the RV is returned in good condition with no damage or excess cleaning needed. To avoid any holdup, do a thorough walkthrough at pickup, photograph any existing scuffs or dings, return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, and empty the tanks if your contract requires it. Pro tip: most deposit disputes are about cleaning, so a quick wipe-down and trash haul before return saves money and stress.
