Good value for the money. Rv was in good condition and ready to go on pickup. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and responsive. 9/10 would rent from again, 9 only for the purposes that we may rent a bigger rv in the future. But it reasonably accommodated 9 people for its size. We had a great trip.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Heath RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable, but it's manageable. Class B campervans average 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8-12 MPG, Class A motorhomes 6-10 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10-14 MPG combined). Ohio gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, so expect roughly $3.00-$3.50 per gallon at Heath-area stations like the Speedway on Hebron Road or the Pilot off I-70 at Exit 132. For a 200-mile weekend in a Class C, you're looking at around $60-$90 in fuel. Pro tip: top off in Heath or Hebron before heading to Hocking Hills, prices climb noticeably once you're deep in Logan or Nelsonville, and use GasBuddy to spot the cheapest pump along your route.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Heath?

Sooner is better, but you've got options. Ohio State Park campgrounds, including Dillon, Alum Creek, and Buckeye Lake-area sites, open reservations 6 months in advance through the official ReserveOhio system, and summer weekends plus all October weekends fill within hours. Private parks like National Road Campground, Wolfie's, and Buckeye Lake KOA usually have more flexibility and can often be booked 2-6 weeks out. For mid-week stays, you can often grab a great site just a few days ahead. Pro tip: if your dates are locked, set a calendar reminder for exactly 6 months out at 8 a.m. for state parks, that's when prime lakeside sites at Alum Creek and Dillon get scooped up.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/reserve-a-place-to-stay/reserve-a-campsite

What are local driving conditions like around Heath?

You'll find Heath one of the friendlier places in Ohio to drive an RV. The town sits at the junction of OH-79 and OH-16, both four-lane and RV-friendly, and I-70 is just 7 miles south for fast east-west travel. Avoid downtown Newark's older brick streets and the narrow stretch of N. 21st Street if you're in anything over 30 feet. Winter (December-February) can bring snow and ice, so plan around storms if you're traveling off-season. Summer thunderstorms occasionally pop up in late afternoon, just pull off at a Pilot or Love's and wait 30 minutes. Pro tip: when heading to Hocking Hills, take OH-13 south to US-33 rather than cutting through small county roads, you'll save time and dodge low-clearance bridges.

For dump and fill needs between trips, Dillon State Park's dump station is open seasonally and is the closest public option to Heath, about 30 minutes east. What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts on RVezy make trips easy with smart add-ons. Mileage policies range from 100 free miles per day to unlimited, and are listed clearly on each RV's page. Pro tip: bundle bedding and kitchen kits if you're flying into John Glenn Columbus International Airport (about 40 minutes west), you'll skip a Walmart run and head straight to your campsite.

Payment on RVezy is simple and secure. You pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, never in cash to the host, which means your booking, protection plan, and roadside assistance are all locked in the moment you confirm. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment, the amount varies by RV (typically $500-$1,500) and is shown clearly on the listing. As long as the RV is returned in the agreed condition, the deposit is released back to your card after the trip. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos of the interior and exterior at pickup and drop-off, it's the easiest way to avoid any disputes and keep your Heath, Ohio RV adventure stress-free from start to finish.
