Shawn and Melinda made it easy to hold a memorable Penn State tailgate, even for someone like me who is new to RV rental. The Beaver Stadium RV lot didn’t have RV hookups so they made sure we had water and extra gas for the generator. They thought if every detail. The RV was super clean and well-stocked. They had excellent communication and were so friendly and helpful. I would 100% rent from them again.

Everything about our rental experience with Reuben was easy, from start to finish! Reuben responded to messages quickly and gave us a thorough overview of the rig before we took off for the weekend. Everything in the RV worked exactly as described. The mattress in the back bedroom was awesome - we slept so well on it that we're now talking about replacing our mattress at home!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Park Forest Village, PA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Park Forest Village, PA?

Renting an RV in Park Forest Village is more affordable than you might think. Travel trailers near State College typically run around $100 to $150 per night, while motorhomes average about $175 to $250 per night, and many hosts offer discounts on weekly and monthly bookings. Booking midweek or in the shoulder seasons (late April to early June, or September) is the smartest way to find a cheap RV rental in Park Forest Village. What license do I need to rent an RV in Park Forest Village?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Park Forest Village. Pennsylvania does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for the Class A, Class B, Class C, travel trailer, and fifth wheel rentals available on RVezy. Approved RVezy renters are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the booking platform, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home country license along with an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you are set. Most first-time renters in the State College area are surprised how quickly the approval process moves.

Is my RV rental in Park Forest Village protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Park Forest Village booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built right into your reservation. The protection plan covers physical damage to the vehicle during your trip, giving you real peace of mind without needing to chase down a separate policy. During checkout, you choose the protection level that fits your trip (you select this, not the host), so you can scale coverage up for a long Pennsylvania road trip or keep it lean for a quick Penn State weekend. The plans are designed specifically for peer-to-peer RV rentals so you can focus on the adventure, not the paperwork.

What is the cancellation policy for an RV rental in Park Forest Village?

Booking is low risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every reservation includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. After the grace period, the specific refund amount depends on how close you are to your trip start date. The full details are spelled out in your booking confirmation and on the RVezy Help Center. Pro tip: reserve early for fall foliage and Penn State football weekends, then relax knowing the grace period has your back if plans shift.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Park Forest Village?

Park Forest Village is a true four-season destination, and the sweet spot for most RV travelers is mid-May through mid-October. Summer highs in the State College area average in the low to mid 80s Fahrenheit with warm evenings perfect for campfires, while September and October deliver crisp 50 to 70 degree days and spectacular fall foliage across Rothrock and Bald Eagle State Forests. Spring (April to early May) brings wildflowers and trout season at local creeks. Winters dip into the 20s and 30s with snow, so look for four-season RVs with heated tanks if you want a winter Penn State weekend. Insider tip: book around Penn State home football Saturdays at least 6 months out.

I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay renting one in Park Forest Village?

You are going to do great, and you are not on your own. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving tips, leveling, hookups, the propane system, and how to dump tanks before you turn the key. For first time renting an RV in Park Forest Village, many people choose a Class C motorhome or campervan (Class B) because they drive much like a large van. The main roads around Park Forest Village, US 322 and I-99, are wide and well-maintained, making them friendly practice routes. Nervous about driving in town? Pick a host who offers delivery and skip the drive entirely.

Can I take my Park Forest Village RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is welcome and easy. Most hosts in Park Forest Village allow trips throughout the continental US, so a long weekend in Niagara Falls, NY, the Outer Banks, NC, or Washington, DC, is completely doable from your Park Forest Village RV rental base. Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed by some hosts depending on their insurance, so just message before booking with your route and they will confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: if you are headed north toward Canada, build in a stop at the Pennsylvania Wilds and Pine Creek Gorge on the way.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Park Forest Village RV trip?

Budgeting fuel is straightforward once you know the basics. Class C motorhomes around State College typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class B campervans 16 to 22 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG). Pennsylvania gas prices generally range from about $3.20 to $3.70 per gallon, with diesel typically slightly higher. A 200-mile weekend loop to Raystown Lake and back in a Class C will likely run you $60 to $90 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Sheetz or Rutter's locations along US 322 before heading into the mountains, where stations are sparser.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Park Forest Village?

Booking early is the secret to a stress-free trip. Pennsylvania State Parks (including Bald Eagle, Black Moshannon, and Poe Valley) open reservations up to 11 months in advance through the official Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system, and waterfront sites at Bald Eagle disappear quickly when summer dates release. For Penn State football weekends, lock in Bellefonte/State College KOA or private RV parks 6 to 9 months out. For mid-week summer trips or shoulder season visits, 2 to 4 weeks ahead is usually enough. Pro tip: if your top campground is full, check for cancellations daily in the week before your trip, as openings open up regularly.

What are driving conditions like around Park Forest Village?

Driving an RV around Park Forest Village is very manageable for newer drivers. US 322 and I-99 are the main arteries with wide lanes and gentle grades, while local roads in the Nittany Valley stay flat and easy. Take it slow on the Seven Mountains stretch of US 322 east toward Lewistown and Skytop on US 322 west, both scenic but steep mountain passes with truck lanes. Winter brings snow and ice from December through March, so check 511PA before driving and avoid mountain passes during active storms. Watch for white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk year-round, especially in the rural stretches around Rothrock State Forest. Sundays before Penn State home games can mean heavy traffic on US 322 and I-99.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Park Forest Village?

Local campgrounds are well equipped for a comfortable stay. Bellefonte/State College KOA and Bald Eagle State Park offer 30 and 50 amp electric hookups, with full hookup sites (water, electric, and sewer) available at the KOA and Seven Mountains Campground. Most Pennsylvania State Parks like Black Moshannon and Poe Valley provide electric sites plus on-site dump stations and potable water fill stations, so you can camp and refill on your way out. Public dump stations are also available at several PA welcome centers along I-80. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot drinking water hose and a 30-to-50-amp adapter so you are ready for any site configuration during your central Pennsylvania trip.
