Jacob was great to work with, the rv was great, simple to set up and operate. Everything needed to hook up water, elect, and sewer was provided, plus some. We towed with a Dodge 2500 4dr, 8’ bed Cummins diesel, towed like a dream with a straight hitch even in the west Texas winds from Arlington TX to Ruisoso NM and back. I was very happy with the RV, and the owner. 5 stars

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Highland Village, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Highland Village, TX?

RV rental in Highland Village is one of the most affordable ways to explore the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with most nightly rates falling between about $95 for a travel trailer and $325 for a fully-loaded Class A motorhome. Pricing on RVezy depends on the rig, season, and the mileage policy each host sets. Spring break, summer holidays around Lake Lewisville, and Cowboys football weekends are peak, so booking 6 to 8 weeks ahead lands the best value. Pro tip: filter for travel trailers with delivery so you skip fuel costs on a tow vehicle. A weekday pickup in shoulder season (March or October) often unlocks the cheapest RV rental in Highland Village without giving up the lakefront experience.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Highland Village?

Good news: your everyday driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Highland Village for almost every motorhome, campervan, or travel trailer on RVezy. Texas only requires a non-commercial Class A or Class B license for rigs with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,000 pounds, and the vast majority of listings come in well under that. All RVezy guests must be 25 or older, and you verify your ID inside the platform during booking, no extra paperwork needed. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home license. Most first-timers are surprised how smooth Texas makes the process.

What protection comes with my Highland Village RV rental?

Every RV rental in Highland Village booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into the price, so you are covered from the moment you pull out of the driveway. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV, giving you real financial peace of mind. During checkout you choose between multiple protection tiers based on how much coverage feels right for your trip, and only you (not the host) get to pick that level. Whether you are towing a fifth wheel to Lake Ray Roberts or driving a Class C through Denton, you can hit the road knowing the safety net is already in place.

What if my Highland Village trip plans change after I book?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy across every listing in Highland Village, including a money-back grace period right after you book. That means if something unexpected pops up, weather, a schedule change, or a family conflict, you have a clear, consistent path forward. Refund eligibility depends on factors like how far out you cancel, so review the cancellation terms during checkout to know exactly where you stand. Going ahead and reserving the RV you love is the smart move, because the best lakefront-ready rigs near Lewisville Lake book out fast for summer weekends.

Can I bring my dog on a Highland Village RV trip?

Absolutely, Highland Village is a dream destination for dog parents, and pet-friendly RV rental in Highland Village is easy to find on RVezy with one click of the Pet-Friendly filter. Once you arrive, your pup can sprint through the off-leash Highland Village Dog Park at Unity Park or splash in the shallows along the Lewisville Lake shoreline at Pilot Knoll Park. Hosts who allow pets usually note any size limits or cleaning fees right on the listing, so you'll know expectations up front. Pack a tie-out, a collapsible water bowl, and your pup's vaccination records, then enjoy a road trip where the whole family, four legs included, gets to come along.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Highland Village?

Yes, RV delivery in Highland Village is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather skip driving a big rig through DFW traffic. Many local hosts will tow the RV straight to Pilot Knoll Park, The Vineyards Campground in Grapevine, or your driveway in Highland Village, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter when searching, and message the host to confirm the fee (often based on mileage from their location). It is the easiest way to enjoy a motorhome rental in Highland Village without ever sitting behind the wheel.

How far can I travel from Highland Village in one trip?

Highland Village sits in a sweet spot for road trips, with hundreds of miles of Texas wide open within an easy day's drive. Many RVezy hosts offer generous daily mileage allowances and a handful even provide RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer adventures. Popular routes include Ray Roberts Lake State Park (about 25 miles north), Caddo National Grassland (75 miles), Possum Kingdom State Park (110 miles), Lake Texoma (90 miles), and Broken Bow, Oklahoma (220 miles). Each listing shows the included miles per night and the per-mile rate if you exceed it, so plan your route, then message the host to negotiate extra miles if your dream Texas road trip from Highland Village stretches farther.

What are the best campgrounds near Highland Village?

The best campgrounds near Highland Village put you right on the water without leaving Denton County. Pilot Knoll Park on Lake Lewisville (just minutes from downtown Highland Village) has 68 sites with 50-amp electric, a dump station, and a boat ramp. Twin Coves Park in Flower Mound offers full hookups, kayak rentals, and stunning sunset views. The Vineyards Campground in Grapevine is a year-round lakefront favorite with pull-throughs. Pro tip for RV camping Highland Village travelers: weekday arrivals dodge the weekend boater rush.

When is the best time to visit Highland Village in an RV?

Spring (mid-March through May) and fall (late September through early November) are the sweet spots for an RV trip in Highland Village, with daytime highs in the comfortable 70s to mid-80s and warm lake water perfect for boating. Summer brings blazing heat (July and August averages 95 to 96 degrees with heat indexes pushing 111), so plan early-morning hikes and lean on the RV's air conditioning. Winters are mild, with January highs around 54 degrees, making it one of the few places you can enjoy a campervan rental in Highland Village comfortably year-round. Local insider tip: October weekends combine perfect weather with Texas State Fair energy just down I-35.

I'm first time renting an RV. Will I actually know what to do?

You'll feel ready, promise. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup (or at delivery), walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water hookups, propane, and dump procedures, then leaves you a cheat-sheet binder in the RV. You can also message hosts before booking with any nervous-newbie questions; most are happy to send video tutorials. RVezy's 24/7 support team and roadside assistance are one call away if anything stumps you on the road. For your first time renting an RV from Highland Village, choose a Class C or travel trailer parked at a nearby campground like Pilot Knoll, so you can practice systems in a calm setting before any long driving.

What happens if something breaks down during my trip?

Take a breath, you are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire, a dead battery, or a tow on I-35E becomes a quick phone call instead of a stranded afternoon. Your host is also typically reachable by text or the in-app messenger for quick troubleshooting (think: how to reset the inverter or refill the fresh water tank). RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip to help with anything bigger. North Texas has plenty of RV-certified service shops in Denton, Lewisville, and Grapevine, so help is genuinely close no matter where on the lake loop you are.

Can I take the RV out of state or into Mexico?

Interstate road trips from Highland Village are completely on the table, and Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico are all reachable within a day's drive. Popular cross-state routes include Hot Springs, Arkansas (about 350 miles east) and Carlsbad Caverns (around 550 miles west). Travel to Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because the protection plan and roadside assistance do not extend across that border. If you are plotting an ambitious itinerary, message the host directly from the listing before booking to confirm your route, since some hosts cap how far the RV can travel. With those simple guardrails, an RV road trip from Highland Village can easily span multiple states.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Highland Village RV trip?

Texas has some of the lowest gas prices in the country (often 25 to 50 cents below the national average), which keeps fuel costs friendly for an RV road trip from Highland Village. A Class C motorhome averages roughly 8 to 10 miles per gallon (mpg), a travel trailer pulled by a half-ton truck gets 10 to 14 mpg, and a campervan can hit 16 to 20 mpg. For a 300-mile weekend loop around Lake Lewisville and Ray Roberts, budget about $80 to $130 in fuel for most rigs. Pro tip: fill up at the Buc-ee's in Denton on I-35W, prices are sharp and the RV-friendly pumps make pull-through fueling stress-free.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Highland Village?

For the best lakeside spots near Highland Village, reserve 3 to 6 months ahead, especially for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends. Pilot Knoll Park, Twin Coves Park, and other Lake Lewisville sites are managed through local city reservation systems, while US Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds like Hickory Creek and Murrell Park book through Recreation.gov. Ray Roberts Lake State Park sites are reserved via Texas Parks and Wildlife and open five months in advance. Local insider tip: midweek availability often appears as late as 48 hours out due to cancellations, so a quick refresh can score you a last-minute lakefront pad.

What's it like driving an RV around Highland Village and DFW?

Highland Village is one of the easier launch points in the DFW metroplex thanks to wide suburban roads, big-box parking lots for practice, and quick access to FM 407 and I-35E. Avoid the I-35E LBJ Express toll lanes (height-restricted in spots) and downtown Dallas streets where 13-foot clearances and low garages create headaches for taller rigs. Drive Lake Lewisville Toll Bridge with confidence, it's RV-friendly. Summer afternoons can deliver fast pop-up thunderstorms and occasional hail, so check the radar before pulling out. Nervous about urban driving? Use the Delivery filter to have your motorhome rental in Highland Village brought to the campground, then you only drive once you're already on quieter county roads.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Highland Village?

Most campgrounds near Highland Village deliver the full RV experience, with 30/50-amp electric, fresh water spigots, sewer hookups or dump stations, hot showers, and Wi-Fi at the higher-end parks. Pilot Knoll Park has a dedicated dump station, boat ramp, and pet-friendly trails. The Vineyards Campground in Grapevine offers full hookups plus a swimming pool and laundry. Need to fill fresh water mid-trip? Twin Coves Park and Hickory Creek both provide potable water fills. Pro tip for where to park an RV in Highland Village beyond campgrounds: overnight parking in city lots is generally not permitted, so always reserve a real site or stay at a host-approved location.

What's actually inside the RVs I can rent in Highland Village?

Expect a fully equipped home on wheels. Most RV rentals in Highland Village come with a queen or king bed, convertible dinette or bunk beds (great for a family RV trip Highland Village parents love), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with shower, climate control, and a TV. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes often include a generator, outdoor speakers, awnings, and seatbelted seating for everyone in your party. Many listings also show Wi-Fi boosters, backup cameras, and solar setups. Use the Sleeps filter to match the RV to your group, then check each listing's photo gallery, hosts itemize exactly what's inside, so there are zero pickup-day surprises.

Are there any add-ons or fees I should know about before booking?

RVezy makes the total transparent before you check out, so you see every fee laid out in advance. Common add-ons hosts offer near Highland Village include camping kit packages with bedding and kitchenware, generator hours for boondocking, bike racks, kayak loaders, and pet-cleaning fees. Mileage policies vary: many listings include around 100 miles per night, with a per-mile rate if you go over, and some hosts offer unlimited mileage upgrades. Pickup and dropoff are usually at the host's home, but delivery is available across Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Denton for a flat fee. Tip: bundle delivery plus a camping kit to land essentially a turnkey campervan rental in Highland Village.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment for your Highland Village RV rental runs through RVezy's secure platform, so you never hand cash or a card directly to the host. On most reservations you pay your booking total in two parts: an upfront amount at booking and the balance closer to the trip date. A refundable security deposit is collected separately before pickup, held against the credit card on file, and released back to you after a successful return with no damage, no late fee, and no extra mileage. To avoid issues, do the walk-around inspection with your host at both pickup and dropoff, snap photos, and confirm the fuel and propane levels match what is listed. Easy, transparent, and stress-free.
