Such an awesome experience. We spent a few days at Colorado Bend State Park and the trailer was perfect. There were not any water/electrical hookups at our campsite, but we were able to fill the RV with potable water, and run the necessary items (lights, water pump, heater) on battery/generator. Such an awesome trip and this travel trailer made the experience much more enjoyable! Karina and Ivan were hospitable AND ensured that we had everything we needed for our trip. 10/10 recommend.

We had a great experience having the RV delivered for our camping trip. Easy communication, setup was great, the RV was well stocked and comfortable - the photos are accurate! We stayed comfortably with two adults and two young children on the dinette bed. Much easier than our previous experience (through a rental company) trying to pick up an RV and drive it ourselves.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Kingsland, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Kingsland, TX?

RV rental in Kingsland, TX is surprisingly affordable, especially compared to staying in lakeside resorts on Lake LBJ. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $140 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $260, and larger Class A coaches run $250 to $400. Because hosts are local owners, you'll often find weekly discounts and lower mileage fees than commercial agencies charge. For a cheap RV rental in Kingsland, look midweek in spring or fall and consider a delivered travel trailer that stays put at one campground, saving on fuel. Pro tip: booking 6 to 8 weeks before AquaBoom (the July 4 celebration) locks in lower nightly rates before lakefront demand spikes.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Kingsland?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Kingsland, TX. Texas does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes or travel trailers, so your everyday Class C license works for everything on the RVezy platform, including big Class A coaches. You'll also need to be 25 or older to book, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the app during checkout, so there's no paperwork to print or notarize. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the whole approval step is, often under an hour.

What protection is included with my Kingsland RV rental?

Every RV rental in Kingsland, TX booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Lake LBJ with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV and provides financial protection well beyond what a typical credit card offers. During checkout you choose between protection tiers based on how much coverage and how low a deductible you want. Roadside assistance is included at no extra cost and covers flats, jump-starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. Pro tip: if you are a first-timer driving the winding Hill Country roads around Packsaddle Mountain, the top protection tier is worth the small upcharge for the lowest deductible.

What if I need to cancel my Kingsland RV trip?

Booking an RV rental in Kingsland is low risk because RVezy sets a standard cancellation policy that applies to every booking. There is a grace period right after you book during which you can cancel for a full refund, so you can lock in the rig you want without overthinking. After that window, refund amounts depend on how far out your trip start date is. Texas Hill Country occasionally sees flash flooding on the Llano River, and RVezy support works with guests directly when major weather events disrupt plans. Pro tip: if your dates are not 100 percent firm, book early anyway. The grace period gives you flexibility, and the best lakefront-ready rigs near Kingsland get scooped up fast for summer weekends.

Can I bring my dog on a Kingsland RV rental?

Absolutely, and Kingsland is one of the most dog-friendly stops in the Hill Country. Plenty of hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Kingsland; just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see only those listings. Most charge a small pet fee (usually $25 to $75 per trip) to cover extra cleaning. Once you arrive, Kingsland Community Park on Lake LBJ welcomes leashed dogs along its shoreline, and Inks Lake State Park, 15 minutes north, has miles of pet-friendly hiking trails. The Slab on the Llano River is a favorite shallow-water spot for dogs to splash in summer. Pro tip: pack a microfiber towel for after-swim drying so red Hill Country dust doesn't track into the RV.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite or lake house?

Yes, RV delivery in Kingsland is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather skip towing on FM 1431. Many hosts will drop the RV at your campground, lake rental driveway, or at Inks Lake State Park, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees typically run $2 to $4 per mile from the host's location, with some offering flat-rate delivery within a 25-mile radius of Kingsland. Filter for Delivery on the search page to see which listings offer it. Pro tip: a delivered travel trailer parked at a Lake LBJ campground gives you full lake access without ever driving the rig yourself.

How does mileage work, and how far can I drive from Kingsland?

Mileage on RVezy is flexible because hosts set their own policies, and many Kingsland listings include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with some offering an RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer road trips. Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.50 each. From Kingsland you're perfectly positioned: Austin is about 65 miles east (around 75 minutes), San Antonio is 95 miles south, Fredericksburg wine country is 45 miles southwest, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is 35 miles west, and Big Bend National Park is a longer 425-mile haul if you want the full West Texas adventure. Pro tip: for a one-week loop, 700 to 900 total miles is plenty to hit Austin, Fredericksburg, and the Highland Lakes comfortably.

Where are the best campgrounds for RV camping in Kingsland?

You're spoiled for choice for RV camping in Kingsland. Top picks include Inks Lake State Park (15 minutes north, with 200+ sites, swimming, and the famous Devil's Waterhole), Kingsland RV Park & Campground (33 full-hookup sites right on Lake LBJ with 30/50-amp service), Wake and Lake RV Resort (oversized concrete pads built for big rigs, pool, and Hill Country views), Kingsland Slab RV Camp (riverfront on the Llano with 20/30/50-amp hookups), and Rio Vista Resort (shaded waterfront sites with concrete fishing docks). All offer full hookups so you won't need to worry about dump runs mid-trip. Pro tip: book Inks Lake State Park exactly 5 months ahead through Texas Parks & Wildlife, that's when their reservation window opens.

When is the best time to visit Kingsland in an RV?

Spring (mid-March through May) is hands-down the magical season for a Kingsland RV trip. Daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s to mid-80s, the famous Texas bluebonnets blanket the roadsides from late March through April, and Lake LBJ is warming up for swimming. Fall (September through early November) is the smart-money second choice, with mild 75 to 85°F days, lower humidity, and fewer crowds. Summers do get hot (95 to 100°F is normal in July and August), but Lake LBJ's constant-level water makes it ideal for cooling off, and the AquaBoom July 4 celebration is unforgettable. Winters are mild (50s to 60s by day) and you'll join the "Winter Texans" who escape colder states. Pro tip: book April weekends 3+ months out, bluebonnet season fills fast.

I have never driven an RV before. Is renting in Kingsland a good idea?

Yes, Kingsland is a fantastic place for first time renting an RV. The roads around town are wide, traffic is light, and most campgrounds sit just minutes off FM 1431 or RR 2900, so you are not navigating tight city streets. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, water, slide-outs, dump valves, and the driving quirks of that specific rig, and you will have their number to text questions during your trip. If you would rather not drive at all, choose a delivered travel trailer that is set up and ready when you arrive. Pro tip: a Class C motorhome drives much like a large van and is the easiest entry point for new RVers exploring the Hill Country.

What happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?

You are never stranded. Every RVezy rental in Kingsland comes with 24/7 roadside assistance included in the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. One phone call gets help dispatched, and RVezy support is also available around the clock to coordinate repairs. Cell coverage is solid on the main routes around Lake LBJ, Inks Lake, and along US-281, so getting through is easy. Pro tip: snap a quick video of the RV's exterior at pickup and save your host's contact info to your phone's favorites, two minutes of prep that makes any hiccup easier to resolve quickly.

What are the best RV road trips from Kingsland?

Kingsland is the perfect launchpad for a Hill Country RV road trip. Top routes: drive 45 miles southwest to Fredericksburg for wineries and German bakeries, head 35 miles west to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area for granite-dome hiking, swing 65 miles east to Austin for BBQ and live music, or loop 90 miles north to Colorado Bend State Park to see the 65-foot Gorman Falls. For a longer haul, San Antonio's River Walk is 95 miles south, and Big Bend National Park is about 7 hours west. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals due to insurance coverage. Pro tip: a 5-day loop of Kingsland to Fredericksburg to Enchanted Rock to Inks Lake is the quintessential Texas Hill Country RV road trip from Kingsland.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/enchanted-rock

How much should I budget for fuel?

Fuel is one of the few variables in your Kingsland budget, but it's manageable. Texas gas prices are consistently among the lowest in the U.S., typically running $2.80 to $3.20 per gallon for regular. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves, you'll just see slightly lower mpg in your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 13 mpg). Class C motorhomes average 8 to 10 mpg, and Class A coaches run 6 to 9 mpg. For a 5-day local trip staying mostly around Lake LBJ and Inks Lake (maybe 250 miles total), budget $80 to $150 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in Marble Falls or Burnet rather than at small Kingsland stations; the larger stations usually shave 10 to 20 cents per gallon.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far ahead should I book a campground near Kingsland?

For the best campgrounds near Kingsland, plan ahead, especially in spring and summer. Inks Lake State Park opens reservations exactly 5 months before your arrival date through the Texas Parks & Wildlife reservation system, and prime weekends (bluebonnet season, Memorial Day, July 4 AquaBoom, Labor Day) fill within hours of opening. Private parks like Wake and Lake RV Resort, Kingsland RV Park, and Rio Vista Resort book 2 to 3 months ahead for weekends but often have midweek openings just a few days out. Pro tip: if you strike out at Inks Lake, set a calendar reminder for 6 a.m. on the 5-month-out date, that's when cancellations from January bookers get released and savvy locals scoop up the canceled riverside sites.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/inks-lake/fees-facilities/campsites

What are the driving conditions like around Kingsland?

Driving around Kingsland is genuinely relaxing compared to most RV destinations. Roads are well-paved, traffic is light outside of summer holiday weekends, and the main routes (RR 1431, RR 2900, and US-281) are wide enough for any rig. Two things to know: the Hill Country has gentle but persistent grades, so take it easy on descents into Marble Falls; and low-water crossings on smaller backroads can flood quickly during heavy rain, so stick to numbered highways if storms are forecast. The FM 2900 bridge over the Llano River was rebuilt after 2018 flooding and is a smooth crossing today. Pro tip: avoid driving big rigs through downtown Llano on Saturdays in spring when the Llano County Market Days street fair narrows traffic to one lane.
drivetexas.org/

What hookups and amenities do Kingsland campgrounds offer?

Most RV parks in Kingsland are full-service, so dumping waste or refilling water rarely interrupts your trip. Kingsland RV Park, Wake and Lake RV Resort, Kingsland Slab RV Camp, and Rio Vista all offer 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer at every site, plus free Wi-Fi. Inks Lake State Park has water and electric at most sites with a central dump station near the park entrance, and it offers free potable-water fill-ups. Many parks also have on-site laundry, pools, and direct lake access with boat ramps. Pro tip: if your rig has a black-tank flush, do a quick rinse before leaving any campground, even where dumping is free, it keeps the tank sensor reading accurately for the rest of your Kingsland RV trip.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/inks-lake/fees-facilities

What is inside a typical Kingsland RV rental?

Expect more comfort than you might guess. A typical motorhome rental in Kingsland comes fully equipped with a queen or king bed, convertible dinette, full kitchen (fridge/freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink, cookware), a bathroom with shower and toilet, roof-mounted air conditioning (essential for summer Hill Country heat), furnace for cool nights, and a fresh-water tank for off-grid stays. Most include a flat-screen TV, and many offer Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor speakers, and onboard generators as add-ons. All passenger seats have seatbelts. Travel trailers offer the same interior comforts minus the cockpit. Pro tip: ask your host whether the AC is a single unit or dual; in July and August on Lake LBJ, a rig with dual AC stays noticeably cooler when the thermometer hits triple digits.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Kingsland%2C%20Texas

What add-ons and extras can I get with my rental?

Hosts in Kingsland love making your trip easier with smart add-ons. Common extras include camping chairs and tables ($15 to $30/trip), outdoor grill ($20 to $40), bedding and linen packages ($40 to $75), kitchen kit ($25), generator use ($10 to $20/hour for off-grid), bike racks, paddleboards or kayaks (perfect for Lake LBJ at $40 to $75/day), and Wi-Fi hotspots. Pickup and dropoff are usually at the host's location, but delivery to Inks Lake or any local campground is widely offered. Mileage policies vary by listing; many include 100 to 150 free miles per night. Pro tip: bundle the paddleboard add-on with a Lake LBJ-front campsite. The constant-level lake is glass-calm at sunrise and unbeatable for a morning paddle before the boat traffic picks up.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment on RVezy is simple and fully online. You pay with a credit or debit card through the secure RVezy platform, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit, separate from your booking payment and typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig, is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup. It is not charged unless there is damage or a clear policy violation like smoking. After dropoff and inspection, the hold is released back to your card. Pro tip: do a quick video walkaround of the RV with your host at both pickup and dropoff, inside and out. It takes 5 minutes and is the single best way to make sure your security deposit comes back fast and in full.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How hot does Kingsland get, and how do I stay comfortable in summer?

Kingsland summers are hot but very manageable in an RV. July and August routinely hit 95 to 100°F, with overnight lows in the mid-70s. Every RVezy rental in the area comes with roof-mounted air conditioning that easily keeps the interior at 72 to 75°F when plugged into 30/50-amp shore power, which every Kingsland campground provides. Drive in the morning to keep the engine and AC working less, and park with the awning facing west to block afternoon sun. Lake LBJ stays around 82 to 85°F in summer, so swimming is the local secret to beating the heat. Pro tip: shoulder seasons (April-May and late September-October) deliver 75 to 85°F days, fewer crowds, and lower rental rates, the smart-money window for a Kingsland RV trip.
