Jacob was great to work with, the rv was great, simple to set up and operate. Everything needed to hook up water, elect, and sewer was provided, plus some. We towed with a Dodge 2500 4dr, 8’ bed Cummins diesel, towed like a dream with a straight hitch even in the west Texas winds from Arlington TX to Ruisoso NM and back. I was very happy with the RV, and the owner. 5 stars

Where are the best campgrounds near Trophy Club for an RV stay?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Trophy Club, with Grapevine Lake practically in your backyard. Top picks include Twin Coves Park in Flower Mound (full hookups, swimming beach, about 8 miles away), Murrell Park (primitive lakeside sites managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, about 10 miles away), Vineyards Campground & Cabins in Grapevine (full hookups on the water, about 12 miles), and Trophy Club Park itself for rustic primitive camping just outside town. A bit farther out, the Dallas/Arlington KOA offers full resort amenities about 35 miles south. Pro tip: Twin Coves and Vineyards book out months ahead for spring and fall weekends, so reserve as soon as your RVezy rental is confirmed.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Trophy Club?

Spring (March through May) and fall (late September through early November) are the sweet spots for an RV trip from Trophy Club, with daytime highs in the 70s and 80s. Summer is hot, with July and August routinely topping 95 to 100 degrees, so plan for AC-heavy days and early-morning lake swims at Grapevine. Winters are mild, averaging mid-50s days and mid-30s nights, making December through February a quiet, budget-friendly window for RV camping Trophy Club style. Pro tip: time your visit for GrapeFest in mid-September in nearby Grapevine, one of the largest wine festivals in the Southwest, it pairs perfectly with a lakeside RV basecamp.

I've never driven an RV. Can I really do this in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

Yes, and you're far from alone, first time renting an RV is exactly who RVezy is built for. Every host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, dumping, propane, and the awning, and you can message them throughout the trip with questions. Trophy Club is a great launchpad because Highway 114 and the SH 170 corridor are wide, flat, and easy to navigate compared to driving through downtown Dallas or Fort Worth. If big-city traffic makes you nervous, ask your host about delivery so the rig is already set up at your campsite. Pro tip: start with a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer in the 20- to 25-foot range, they drive almost like a big van and fit nearly every site at Grapevine Lake campgrounds.

What happens if something breaks down during my Trophy Club RV trip?

Take a breath, you're covered. Every RV rental in Trophy Club booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on Highway 114, a dead battery at Murrell Park, or a stubborn slide-out is a single phone call away from help. RVezy's support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you leave the driveway and snap a photo of the RV's VIN sticker, it speeds up dispatch if you ever need it.

What are the best road trip routes from Trophy Club?

An RV road trip from Trophy Club opens up some of the best driving in Texas. Head about 90 minutes north to Lake Texoma for fishing and beaches, or cruise about 90 miles south to Waco for the Magnolia Silos and Homestead Heritage. Hill Country fans can reach Fredericksburg in about 4.5 hours for wineries and peach stands, while Austin is roughly 200 miles down I-35. For a bigger adventure, Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico is a doable two-day push west via I-20. Note that travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, but the entire U.S. is open to you. Pro tip: ask your host about one-way trips if you're flying out of Austin or Houston, some will say yes for a relocation fee.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Trophy Club RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on any Trophy Club RV trip, but Texas typically has some of the cheapest gas in the country, often below the national average. Expect a Class C motorhome to get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, a Class B campervan 16 to 20, and a truck towing a travel trailer 9 to 13. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop around North Texas in a Class C, budget roughly $150 to $225 in gas at current prices. Buc-ee's locations in Denton (about 15 miles north) and the Fort Worth area consistently have competitive prices and easy RV access. Pro tip: download the GasBuddy app and filter for diesel if your rental is a diesel pusher, the price gap can be significant.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Trophy Club?

For the best campgrounds near Trophy Club, book as early as you can, especially anything on Grapevine Lake. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers sites like Murrell Park release reservations 6 months in advance on Recreation.gov and fill within minutes for spring and fall weekends. Twin Coves Park (Town of Flower Mound) opens its window months in advance as well, and private parks like Vineyards Campground often allow booking up to a year ahead. For shoulder-season midweek stays, 2 to 4 weeks of lead time is usually enough. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for exactly 6 months before your target weekend and log in right when the reservation window opens, that's when the prime lakefront pads disappear fastest.

What are driving conditions like around Trophy Club for a larger RV?

Driving an RV around Trophy Club is genuinely easy compared to most major metros. The town sits near the intersection of SH 114 and SH 170, both wide, modern, and RV-friendly with gentle grades and tall clearances. Rush hour on 114 toward Dallas (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.) can crawl, so plan departures around it. For where to park an RV in Trophy Club, most big-box retailers along 114 in nearby Roanoke and Westlake have oversized lots. Be mindful of low clearances in historic downtown Grapevine if you're driving a tall rig. North Texas spring storms can bring hail and high winds, so check the National Weather Service Fort Worth forecast before rolling out. Pro tip: a TxTag or compatible toll tag works on 170 and saves money over pay-by-mail.

What hookups and amenities can I expect at Trophy Club area campgrounds?

Most developed campgrounds near Trophy Club offer 30/50-amp electric, fresh water, and sewer at the site, plus a dump station near the exit if you're at a partial-hookup spot. Twin Coves Park has full hookups, paved pads, hot showers, and a swimming beach. Vineyards Campground & Cabins offers full hookups with lake views and Wi-Fi. Murrell Park is primitive with vault toilets and limited water, so plan to arrive with full fresh tanks. For dumping between stays, Vineyards and Twin Coves both allow non-guests to dump for a small fee. Pro tip: confirm hookup amperage with the host before pickup so your RV's shore cord matches the campsite pedestal.

Expect a queen or king bed, a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a dinette that converts to extra sleeping space, and air conditioning that's a must for Texas summers. Most motorhome rental Trophy Club listings include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, and a generator or solar setup for off-grid stays, plus seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Many hosts add Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor speakers, and starter kits with linens and kitchenware. Pickup and drop-off times are flexible, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and many hosts offer late returns for a small fee. As long as you return the rig in the agreed condition, the hold is released after drop-off. Pro tip: do a thorough photo and video walkthrough with your host at both pickup and return, it's the single best way to avoid any deposit disputes and keep your Trophy Club RV trip stress-free.

How do I handle the Texas summer heat in an RV around Trophy Club?

Texas summers are no joke, but a well-equipped RV rental in Trophy Club handles the heat beautifully. Every motorhome and trailer on RVezy comes with roof-mounted air conditioning, and most hosts include reflective window covers and vent fans too. Plan to drive in the cooler morning hours before 11 a.m., park in shaded sites (the wooded loops at Twin Coves and Murrell Park are gold), and run the AC on shore power rather than the generator when possible. Grapevine Lake water warms into the 80s in July and August, making early swims a perfect break. Pro tip: shoulder seasons (April-May and October-November) bring mid-70s days, cooler nights, and lower campsite demand, ideal for a relaxed family RV trip Trophy Club families rave about.
