Where can I park or camp with my RV in Daly City?

Daly City is well placed for RV camping near the Pacific. Popular nearby options include San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica (oceanside with full hookups) and Half Moon Bay State Beach (about 25 minutes south) for dramatic coastal camping. Candlestick RV Park has permanently closed, so plan around current open parks. Overnight street parking is restricted in Daly City, so always reserve a campground or RV park. Book 4 to 6 months ahead for summer weekends on the coast.

What's the best time of year for an RV trip in Daly City?

Daly City's mild marine climate makes RV camping a year-round option. May through October is the driest stretch, with daytime highs commonly in the 60s F, while winter highs typically stay in the mid 50s F. Expect cool mornings and summer fog, so pack layers. Late September and October often bring the warmest, clearest days and easier campground reservations. Gray whale migration peaks along the coast from roughly mid-December through April, a fun bonus for coastal stays.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Daly City RV trip?

Plan around RV fuel economy of roughly 8 to 14 miles per gallon depending on size and terrain. Bay Area gas prices are among the highest in California, often well above the state average, so build that into your budget. A round trip from Daly City to Yosemite National Park (about 400 miles) typically costs $150 to $260 in fuel for a Class C motorhome. Filling up outside the city, in areas like Pacifica or San Bruno, often saves a few cents per gallon, and a smaller campervan rental in Daly City is much more efficient.

State park sites open up to 6 months in advance on ReserveCalifornia, so set a reminder for your target date. What's it like to drive an RV around Daly City and San Francisco?

Driving an RV around Daly City is manageable. Major routes like I-280, US-101, and Highway 1 are RV-friendly, but parts of downtown San Francisco have steep hills, narrow streets, and height-restricted tunnels and garages, so watch posted signs. New RVers should avoid weekday commute hours (roughly 7 to 9 am and 4 to 7 pm) or simply choose a host offering delivery to your campsite. In about 15 minutes you can be out of the city and enjoying Pacifica's beaches.
