2016 Thor Motor Coach Class C
Marco and Gina were terrific and answered all the questions we had (never driven an rv before), it was the best experience and we will definitely be using them again. The rv itself was very clean, super comfortable and had everything we’d ever need fully stocked which made it so simple. Can’t recommend them enough!

eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How early should I book campgrounds near Ione, and what's the best way to reserve a site?
For RV camping near Ione, plan to reserve two to six months ahead for peak weekends and holidays. Use ReserveCalifornia.com for state parks like Indian Grinding Rock, and book Lake Camanche and Lake Amador directly through their resort websites. Private parks often release reservations up to a year in advance for prime summer dates. Midweek and shoulder season trips in spring and fall offer better availability, lower rates, and quieter campgrounds. Confirm your RV length before booking to make sure the site fits.
reservecalifornia.com/What local driving conditions should I know when RV camping near Ione?
Driving an RV around Ione is generally straightforward. Highway 88 is the main route into the Sierra foothills and toward Lake Tahoe, with gentle grades close to town and steeper climbs as you head east. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, occasional tule fog in late fall and winter, and summer heat that can stress tires on long climbs. Downtown Ione is compact with limited large-vehicle parking, so park on the edge of the historic district and walk in. Delivery is a popular option to avoid maneuvering downtown.
roads.dot.ca.gov/What equipment and amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Ione?

Expect sleeping for 2 to 8 people, a kitchen with sink, stove, fridge, and basic cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower in most motorhomes and larger trailers, and seatbelted seating for travel. Air conditioning and furnaces are standard, which matters for hot Amador County summers and cool foothill nights. Many hosts also include outdoor awnings, leveling blocks, and starter kits. Listing photos and the amenities section show exactly what each RV provides.
