Extremely clean van, lots of room for sleeping, cooking, and staying inside. Heather did a great job helping us navigate the set up as first-time van renters; however, most of the things turned out to be intuitive.

Great rental experience — highly recommend! Russ runs a very professional RV rental operation and clearly takes pride in what he does. He’s an RV enthusiast himself, and it shows in how well the trailer is equipped and maintained. The RV was extremely clean, well stocked, and everything worked exactly as advertised. Russ was great to work with from start to finish—very responsive, knowledgeable, and available to help with any questions or issues along the way. I would absolutely recommend reaching out to Russ if you’re considering one of his RVs. We had a great experience and would 100% rent from him again.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Soquel, CA
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Soquel, CA?
An RV rental in Soquel typically ranges from $125 to $275 per night, depending on RV size, age, and season. Travel trailers and campervans sit at the lower end, while Class A and Class C motorhomes are higher. Summer weekends and holidays book up quickly, so reserving 2 to 3 months ahead helps lock in better rates. For cheap RV rental options, look at midweek dates, shoulder seasons (April, May, September, October), and travel trailers if you have a tow vehicle. Many Soquel hosts also bundle in extras like delivery, generator use, or kitchen kits, adding strong value for families and groups.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Soquel%2C%20CaliforniaDo I need a special license to drive an RV rental in Soquel, CA?
For most RV rentals in Soquel, a standard Class C California driver's license (or equivalent from your home state or country) is all you need. No commercial or special endorsement is required for typical motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers under 40 feet and under 10,000 lbs GVWR. On RVezy, the primary driver generally needs to be 25 or older and submit their license for verification during booking. Bring your physical license to pickup, and your host will confirm everything before handing over the keys.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection is included with my RV rental in Soquel?
Every RV rental in Soquel booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan with insurance coverage and 24/7 roadside assistance. At checkout you choose your protection level (typically Standard, Special, or Premium), which sets your deductible and coverage limits for accidental damage. Roadside assistance covers issues like flat tires, lockouts, jumpstarts, and towing, so help is just a call away whether you're near the Santa Cruz coast or up in the redwoods. Coverage is set by RVezy, not the host, giving you consistent protection on every booking.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I cancel my Soquel RV rental if my plans change?
RVezy applies a standard cancellation policy to every Soquel RV rental, so the terms are consistent and easy to understand. Cancellations made well before your trip start date qualify for the highest refund level, while cancellations closer to pickup receive a reduced refund. The full policy and your specific refund window are shown during checkout and in your booking confirmation, not set by individual hosts. If a host cancels on you, RVezy helps rebook or issues a refund. This makes it low-risk to lock in your Soquel coast and redwoods trip early.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsAre there pet-friendly RV rentals in Soquel?
Yes, many RV rentals in Soquel welcome pets. Use the Pet Friendly filter on RVezy to quickly see hosts who allow dogs and other animals, and message the host to confirm any size or breed notes. Nearby New Brighton State Beach and Seacliff State Beach allow leashed pets in campgrounds and on paved areas, and Capitola Village is a fun, walkable stop with dog-friendly patios. Note that pets are not permitted on most state beach sand or on trails in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, so plan dog walks at pet-friendly spots like the campground loops and local neighborhoods.
parks.ca.gov/?page_id=21262Can I have an RV delivered and set up at my Soquel campground?
Yes, RV delivery in Soquel is a popular option, especially for first-time renters. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV to your campsite, level it, connect hookups, and walk you through the systems before leaving. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy and enter your campground address (such as New Brighton State Beach, Seacliff State Beach, or Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday) to see which RVs deliver there and at what fee. Delivery is great if you'd rather skip driving Highway 17 or navigating tight coastal roads.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038157894-Delivery-optionsAre there RV rentals in Soquel with unlimited mileage?
Yes, some Soquel hosts offer RV rentals with unlimited mileage, while others include a daily mileage allowance with a per-mile fee beyond it. The mileage policy is listed in each RVezy listing under pricing, so you can compare before booking. For short trips to Monterey, Big Sur, or San Francisco you'll usually stay well within standard allowances, but for longer Central Coast or Sierra road trips, filtering for unlimited mileage can save money. If you're unsure, message the host with your planned route and they'll help you pick the best option.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038107214-Mileage-feesWhere can I camp with an RV near Soquel, CA?
Soquel sits within minutes of several excellent RV campgrounds. New Brighton State Beach in Capitola offers bluff-top sites with ocean views and a dump station (no hookups at most sites). Seacliff State Beach has limited RV sites with hookups right along the sand and requires advance reservations. Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday in Watsonville provides full hookups, a pool, and family amenities. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park near Felton is a quieter, forested option with no hookups but stunning old-growth redwoods. Book state park sites through ReserveCalifornia up to six months ahead.
reservecalifornia.com/When is the best time for an RV trip to Soquel, CA?
Soquel's mild coastal climate makes RV trips enjoyable most of the year. Late spring through early fall (May to October) brings daytime highs around 65 to 75 F, cool nights, and mostly dry weather, though morning marine fog is common in June and July. Late summer and early fall often have the clearest, warmest days. November through March is cooler (highs 55 to 62 F) and wetter, but great for quiet redwood camping and lower rental rates. Avoid winter storm windows and check NOAA forecasts before heading over Highway 17.
weather.gov/mtr/I've never rented an RV before, will someone show me how everything works?
Yes, every RVezy host provides a walkthrough at pickup or delivery. Your Soquel host will demonstrate driving basics, hookups, water and waste tanks, the generator, propane, slide-outs, and any extras like awnings or bike racks. You can message the host through RVezy before booking with any questions, and many hosts also provide written guides or short videos you can reference at the campground. It's a great way for first-time renters to feel confident before heading to the coast or redwoods.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736974-What-to-expect-at-pickupWhat if I have a breakdown during my Soquel RV trip?
Every RV rental booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan. If you have a flat tire near Capitola, a dead battery in the redwoods, or run out of fuel on Highway 1, call the roadside number included with your booking documents to dispatch help. For mechanical issues with the RV itself, also message your host through the RVezy app so they can advise on next steps. Keep your booking confirmation accessible on your phone for fast service.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008354-Roadside-assistanceHow far can I travel with my RV rental from Soquel?
Soquel is a great launch point for a California RV road trip. Approximate drive times: Monterey 40 minutes, Pinnacles National Park 1 hour 45 minutes, San Francisco 1 hour 30 minutes, Big Sur 2 hours, Lake Tahoe 4 hours 30 minutes, and Yosemite Valley 4 hours 30 minutes. Most RVezy bookings allow travel anywhere in the U.S., but cross-border trips into Mexico or Canada usually require advance host approval. Always confirm your route and mileage allowance with the host before departure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038107214-Mileage-feesHow do I budget for gas in Soquel, and what mileage can I expect?
Fuel is one of the bigger trip costs from Soquel. Typical fuel economy: Class A motorhomes 7 to 10 mpg, Class C 8 to 12 mpg, travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle, and campervans 15 to 20 mpg. Santa Cruz County gas prices generally run above the national average, often $4.50 to $5.30 per gallon for regular and higher for diesel. Fill up in Watsonville or inland Highway 101 towns where prices tend to be lower than in beach areas, and budget extra for climbs into the Santa Cruz Mountains.
energy.ca.gov/data-reports/energy-almanac/transportation-energy/gasoline-average-prices-and-taxesHow far in advance should I book a campground near Soquel, and how do I reserve?
For RV camping near Soquel, book early, especially for coastal state parks. New Brighton State Beach, Seacliff State Beach, and Henry Cowell Redwoods open reservations six months in advance on ReserveCalifornia, and summer weekends often sell out within minutes of release. Aim to book 4 to 6 months ahead for peak season, or target midweek nights for better availability. Private parks like Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday accept online reservations and often have more flexibility closer to your dates.
reservecalifornia.com/What should I know about driving an RV in Soquel and Santa Cruz County?
Driving an RV in Soquel is manageable with a little planning. Highway 17 between Santa Cruz and San Jose is steep, winding, and busy, so drive in the right lane, keep speeds moderate, and avoid weekday rush hours. Highway 1 through Capitola and Aptos is easier but can back up on summer weekends. In residential areas, watch for low-hanging branches, tight turns, and limited overnight street parking. If you're nervous about the drive, choose a Soquel host who offers delivery directly to your campground. Always check Caltrans for road closures before heading into the mountains.
quickmap.dot.ca.gov/What amenities should I expect at RV campgrounds near Soquel?
Amenities vary by campground. New Brighton State Beach offers restrooms, showers, potable water, and a dump station, with electric hookups at a limited number of sites. Seacliff State Beach has beachfront sites with full hookups (water, electric, sewer) for self-contained RVs. Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday provides full hookups, laundry, Wi-Fi, a pool, and a playground. Henry Cowell Redwoods is more rustic with water spigots and restrooms but no hookups. Plan to dump tanks at state park stations or the KOA between stops.
parks.ca.gov/?page_id=542What equipment and comforts are included in most Soquel RV rentals?
Most RV rentals in Soquel, CA provide the comforts of home: kitchen with fridge and stove, full bathroom, comfy beds (queen, bunk, or convertible dinette), and essentials like cookware and bedding. Many offer TV, WiFi hotspot, A/C, and generator. Ask your host for a full list—some even include beach gear or outdoor seating for your Soquel adventure. Every listing details sleeping arrangements and features, so you can find exactly what your group needs.
dca.ca.gov/publications/living-in-a-recreational-vehicle.shtmlWhat are the most popular add-ons and options for Soquel RV rentals?
Popular add-ons for Soquel RV rentals include camp chairs, outdoor grills, bikes, surfboard or paddleboard racks, generators, and linen or kitchen kits, usually for a small extra fee shown in the listing. Many hosts also offer flexible pickup and dropoff times if arranged in advance, plus delivery and on-site setup at campgrounds like New Brighton State Beach, Seacliff State Beach, or the Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA Holiday. Review the Add-ons section of each RVezy listing to customize your trip before checkout.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Soquel%2C%20CaliforniaHow much is the security deposit for a Soquel RV rental, and how does payment work?
Security deposits for Soquel RV rentals typically range from about $500 to $1,500, depending on the RV class and the protection plan you select at checkout. The deposit is a separate authorization from your booking payment and is released after a damage-free return, usually within a few days. Your booking total (rental, fees, taxes, and any add-ons) is charged through RVezy's secure payment system. Confirm cleaning, fuel, and tank return requirements with your host beforehand to avoid additional charges.
