Once again had a great trip with renting from Brian. If I see Brian's listing available, I hit book. My decision is that easy.

Reyna and her husband were great hosts! They showed us how everything worked during pick up, answered all of our questions (quick responses through the app, too), and they put a lot of time and thought into all the amenities provided (cookware, coffee pot, refrigeration, sink, bedding, first aid, travel soap and more!). While we didn't need to use all of their amenities/cookware/utensils due to other families we traveled with, we know that the next time we book them, we never have to worry. It was huge hit for our family as we're traditional tent campers. This was a great first experience with RVezy, and we shared that with family/friends and campers who walked by curious about the set up.

Renting with Richard couldn’t have gone better! We were taking a trip to Tahoe national Forest and a place that we had never been, to meet up with family. With taking two small children and our dog on their first camping trip together we knew we wanted to get an RV to have some of the comforts of home and have someone deliver an RV with more driving experience. Richard not only dropped it off and set it up to the site for us, he also picked it up when we were ready to leave. Our camping trip went so much better having the RV and the kids loved staying in the bunkbeds! Thank you so much again Richard we had an AMAZING time!!!

What's the best time of year to visit Truckee for an RV trip?

Truckee is a year-round destination, but June through mid-October is the most popular window for RV trips, with average summer highs in the 70s to mid-80s and cool nights. Winter (December through March) brings heavy Sierra snowfall and excellent skiing, though overnight lows can drop into the teens or single digits, so RVs need to be winter-ready. Spring and fall offer lighter crowds, vibrant aspens, and pleasant daytime weather. Bring layers year-round, as Truckee's 5,800-foot elevation means chilly mornings even in summer.

How does fuel work, what MPG can I expect around Truckee?

Most RVs around Truckee average 8 to 15 MPG depending on size, with campervans on the higher end and Class A motorhomes on the lower end. Fuel prices in Truckee are typically higher than the California average due to the mountain location, so budget accordingly when planning longer routes. To estimate fuel costs, divide your trip mileage by the RV's MPG and multiply by current pump prices. Smaller campervans are the most fuel-efficient choice for exploring the Truckee River corridor and Lake Tahoe.

How early do I need to book Truckee RV campgrounds in summer?

For peak summer weekends in Truckee, reserve campgrounds 3 to 6 months in advance, as popular sites like Donner Memorial State Park and Coachland RV Park book up quickly. Use ReserveCalifornia for state parks and Recreation.gov for national forest campgrounds like Boca and Prosser. Is it hard to drive an RV around Truckee's mountain roads?

Truckee's main routes are RV-friendly, with I-80 maintained year-round and wide shoulders on most highways. Watch for steep grades over Donner Summit and use lower gears on descents. In winter, snow chains are often required by Caltrans, so confirm with your host whether chains are provided. Downtown Truckee has narrow historic streets, so delivery is a smart option if you're new to driving larger rigs. Always check Caltrans QuickMap for live road conditions and chain controls before departing.

What amenities and hookups should I expect at Truckee RV campgrounds?

Amenities vary by campground around Truckee. Coachland RV Park offers full hookups, WiFi, and laundry, while Donner Memorial State Park provides partial hookups, picnic tables, fire rings, and clean bathhouses. National forest campgrounds like Boca and Prosser are more rustic with vault toilets and no hookups, so a generator or solar setup is helpful. Dump stations and propane refills are easy to find in town. Review each campground's site details when booking to match amenities to your RV's needs.
