2006 Campervan
Perfect little unit for road trips and camping! The van was comfortable and reliable. The van is well equipped woth utensils, dishes and tools, just load up the fridge and go anywhere! The solar powered battery was always charged and had plenty of power. Our host was welcoming and very helpful, everything worked as expected with zero issues. AC blows cold and the fridge works great! Thanks Kailen! We would camp with your van again in a heartbeat!

2020 Coleman Travel Trailer
We just returned from a wonderful three night trip. The RV is exactly as described, if not better to be honest. The host and his family have gone out of their way to provide amenities that are really additive to the entire rental experience - things like extra toilet paper, cooking utensils, pots, and pans, paper, goods, etc. We really enjoyed the thorough overview that Justin provided us upon pick up so that we felt completely comfortable having control throughout our trip. We look forward to renting with this host again!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Berthoud, CO
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Berthoud, CO?
Good news: an RV rental in Berthoud, CO is one of the more affordable ways to explore the Front Range and Rocky Mountains. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers starting around $90 to $140 per night, Class C motorhomes between $175 and $275 per night, and larger Class A rigs from $250 and up. Pricing depends on the season, age of the RV, and included mileage. To find a cheap RV rental in Berthoud, book mid-week, travel in May or September (the shoulder seasons), and use the price filter on RVezy. Pro tip: hosts often offer weekly discounts of 10 to 20 percent, so a 7-night Rocky Mountain trip can cost less per night than a long weekend.
colorado.com/articles/colorado-rv-campingWhat kind of license do I need to rent an RV in Berthoud, Colorado?
Great news for first-timers: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Berthoud, Colorado. Colorado does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use RVs under 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), which covers virtually every motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. You'll just need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking. Visiting from another country? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most renters are surprised how straightforward the process is.
dmv.colorado.gov/cdl-general-informationIs my RV rental in Berthoud covered if something goes wrong?
Yes, every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road from Berthoud with real peace of mind. RVezy offers multiple protection plan tiers, and you select your coverage level during checkout based on how much protection you want for your trip. The plan covers eligible damage to the RV during your rental, giving renters strong financial protection for a Rocky Mountain road trip. Pro tip: review the protection options carefully at checkout, especially if you plan to drive Trail Ridge Road or other mountain routes where weather can change quickly.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Berthoud RV rental?
You can book your RV rental in Berthoud with confidence. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not the host), and it includes a grace period after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund. After the grace period, the refund amount depends on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. If a host cancels, RVezy refunds the guest or provides travel credits so your plans stay protected. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best RV and rate, and contact RVezy support if a Front Range weather event or park closure affects your trip. Support is available before, during, and after every booking.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV trip from Berthoud?
Absolutely, Berthoud is a fantastic launchpad for a pet-friendly RV rental in Berthoud. Many RVezy hosts welcome dogs, and you can use the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page to see only those listings. Boyd Lake State Park and St. Vrain State Park both allow leashed pets in campgrounds, and Larimer County's Carter Lake is a favorite for dog walks along the shoreline. Just remember that Rocky Mountain National Park restricts dogs to paved roads, parking areas, and campgrounds, so plan day hikes in Roosevelt National Forest instead, where dogs are welcome on trails. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees or breed notes.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/BoydLakeCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Berthoud?
Yes, RV delivery in Berthoud is one of the most popular options, especially for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts will deliver the RV directly to your campground, driveway, or staging area, set it up, level it, connect hookups, and walk you through every system before they leave. That means you can skip the stress of driving a big rig through Loveland or up Highway 34 toward Estes Park. Delivery is commonly offered to Carter Lake, Boyd Lake State Park, Riverview RV Park, and even Rocky Mountain National Park gateway campgrounds. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who offer it, and confirm the delivery fee (usually based on mileage) in your booking message.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Pages/default.aspxHow far can I drive on an RV road trip from Berthoud?
You're perfectly positioned for an epic RV road trip from Berthoud. Rocky Mountain National Park's Estes Park entrance is just 35 miles (about 50 minutes) west, Denver is 50 miles south, Steamboat Springs sits around 160 miles northwest, and the dramatic dunes of Great Sand Dunes National Park are about 230 miles south. Some RVezy hosts offer unlimited mileage; others include 100 to 150 miles per day with a small per-mile fee beyond that, typically $0.30 to $0.50. If you're planning to circle the state, look for an RV rental with unlimited mileage to keep things simple. Pro tip: ask the host upfront so you can budget accurately.
codot.gov/travelWhere are the best campgrounds near Berthoud, CO?
You're surrounded by excellent options for RV camping in Berthoud. Top picks include Carter Lake South Shore Campground (about 10 miles west, with electric hookups and stunning reservoir views), Boyd Lake State Park's Cottonwood Campground (15 minutes north in Loveland, full hookups available), St. Vrain State Park (20 minutes south near Longmont, great for first-timers), Riverview RV Park along the Big Thompson River (a quiet base near the canyon), and North Shore RV Park at Carter Lake (full 20/30/50-amp hookups). For Rocky Mountain National Park access, Moraine Park Campground inside the park is the gold standard. Book Larimer County and Colorado Parks and Wildlife sites early on their reservation systems; summer weekends fill 6 months out.
cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/BoydLake/Pages/Camping.aspxWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip in Berthoud, CO?
Berthoud has a semi-arid climate with four real seasons, so you've got options. Summer (June through August) brings warm, mostly dry days with highs in the mid-80s°F and cool nights in the upper 50s°F: perfect for Rocky Mountain National Park, though Trail Ridge Road is busiest July to August. May and September are the smart-money sweet spot: highs in the 60s to 70s°F, fewer crowds, and shoulder-season rates on motorhome rental Berthoud listings. Fall delivers golden aspens around Estes Park (peak mid-to-late September). Winter is cold (lows near 20°F) but doable with a properly winterized RV. Pro tip: book by April for prime July dates.
weather.gov/bou/I've never driven an RV before. Can I still rent one in Berthoud?
Absolutely, first time renting an RV is exactly what RVezy is built for. Every host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, leveling, hookups, slide-outs, propane, and the wastewater system so nothing's a mystery. For total ease, choose a Class B campervan (Berthoud has plenty on RVezy) or a smaller Class C: both drive much like a large van or U-Haul. If you'd rather not drive at all, book delivery and let the host handle setup. Pro tip: avoid driving Trail Ridge Road or Highway 34 through Big Thompson Canyon on your first day. Stick to flat I-25 routes until you're comfortable.
codot.gov/safetyWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so help is just a phone call away if you have a flat tire, dead battery, lockout, or mechanical issue on your Berthoud RV trip. Colorado mountain roads can be tough on tires and brakes, but the roadside team coordinates dispatch wherever you are, whether that is a campground at Carter Lake, the shoulder of I-25, or a pullout on US-34 in Big Thompson Canyon. Your host is also a text away for quick questions about the rig. Pro tip: save both RVezy support and the host phone number in your phone before you leave the driveway.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my Berthoud RV rental across state lines or into Canada or Mexico?
Yes, most RVezy hosts in Colorado allow cross-state travel, which makes a Berthoud base perfect for exploring Wyoming Grand Teton (about 480 miles north), Utah Arches and Canyonlands (around 350 miles west), or New Mexico Taos (about 270 miles south). Travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval and proper documentation, so message the host before booking if that is part of your plan. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan and insurance coverage do not extend there. Pro tip: Yellowstone is roughly an 8 to 9 hour drive from Berthoud, making it one of the most rewarding multi-state loops from the Front Range.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and how much will gas cost?
Realistic expectations help you budget like a pro. Class B campervans get 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes return 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A rigs average 6 to 10 MPG. A travel trailer pulled by a truck typically lands around 10 to 13 MPG combined. Colorado gas prices hover around the national average, and you'll find competitive prices at stations along I-25 in Loveland and Longmont. For a typical Berthoud-to-Estes Park-to-Grand Lake loop (about 200 miles round trip) in a Class C, budget roughly $80 to $110 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Loveland before heading into the mountains, where prices climb with the elevation.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Berthoud?
Book early and you will thank yourself. Colorado Parks and Wildlife opens reservations up to 6 months in advance through cpwshop.com, and prime summer weekends at Boyd Lake and Carter Lake can sell out within hours of release. For Rocky Mountain National Park campgrounds like Moraine Park and Glacier Basin, use Recreation.gov, which also releases sites about 6 months out. Private parks like Riverview RV Park and North Shore RV Park usually have more flexibility, often bookable 1 to 3 months ahead. Heads up: Rocky Mountain National Park has used a timed entry permit system in recent peak seasons, so check the park website for the current year requirements before your trip.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htmWhat are the local driving conditions like around Berthoud?
Good news: Berthoud sits in the flat Front Range corridor, so the roads in and out of town (I-25, US-287, and CO-56) are easy, modern highways with plenty of pull-offs. The fun starts when you head west: US-34 through Big Thompson Canyon to Estes Park is scenic but narrow with tight curves, and Trail Ridge Road inside Rocky Mountain National Park climbs to 12,183 feet and closes from mid-October to late May. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms in summer and high winds along I-25 (gusts over 50 mph happen). Pro tip: check CDOT's COtrip.org for real-time road status before any mountain drive, and avoid mountain passes after dark on your first trip.
codot.gov/travel/scenic-bywaysWhat amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Berthoud?
You'll find a great range. Full-hookup parks like North Shore RV Park at Carter Lake and Riverview RV Park offer 20/30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer at the site, plus laundry and showers. State parks like Boyd Lake and St. Vrain have electric and water with centralized dump stations and modern bathhouses. Most campgrounds have potable water fill stations and dump stations on-site; if not, Larimer County operates dump stations at Carter Lake and Horsetooth Reservoir for a small fee. Wi-Fi is hit-or-miss in the foothills, so download maps offline. Pro tip: ask your RVezy host if their rig has a freshwater pump and onboard generator, so you're equipped for the occasional dry-camping night under Colorado's famously starry skies.
larimer.gov/naturalresources/parks/carter-lakeWhat's included inside a typical RV rental in Berthoud?
RVs on RVezy in Berthoud come surprisingly well-equipped. Expect comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 people (queen bed, bunks, convertible dinette), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and basic cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelts for travel. Many also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, awning, outdoor camp chairs, and sometimes a generator for off-grid power. Wi-Fi depends on the listing and the cell signal (spotty in the Rockies). Pro tip: check the listing's amenity list and message the host to confirm specifics like bedding, towels, kitchenware, or a Starlink setup, which a growing number of Front Range hosts now include.
colorado.com/things-to-do/rv-camping-coloradoWhat add-ons and features should I look for when I rent an RV in Berthoud?
Popular Berthoud add-ons make your trip smoother and often cost less than you'd expect. Look for delivery and setup ($2 to $4 per mile is typical), camp chairs and outdoor rugs (often free or $25 flat), bedding and linen packages ($30 to $75 per trip), generators for boondocking ($15 to $30 per day), bike racks, and propane refills. For mileage, some hosts offer truly unlimited miles, others include 100 to 150 free miles per day, then $0.30 to $0.50 per mile beyond. Pickup and drop-off windows are flexible; most hosts allow a 2 to 4-hour window. Pro tip: ask about a Rocky Mountain National Park parking-friendly compact rig if you plan to enter the park yourself.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/index.htmHow does the security deposit and payment work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure. When you book a campervan rental Berthoud or any other RV on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit card. The security deposit is separate from your booking payment and is pre-authorized (not charged) on your card before the trip, then released after the RV is returned in good condition, typically within a few days. Deposit amounts vary by rig and host, generally ranging from $500 to $1,500. To avoid issues, complete a thorough walk-around video at pickup and drop-off, return the RV clean with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and stay within your mileage allowance. Pro tip: message your host with any concerns. Clear communication keeps deposits worry-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in Berthoud during the winter?
Yes, winter RV rental Colorado is a real and rewarding option from Berthoud. Many RVezy hosts keep their rigs available year-round, and some specifically offer four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and upgraded furnaces, perfect for ski trips to Winter Park (about 90 miles southwest via US-40) or Steamboat Springs. Berthoud winters average lows around 20°F with occasional sub-zero snaps, so look for RVs explicitly listed as winter-ready and plan to use shore power at campgrounds like Boulder County Fairgrounds, which stays open year-round with electric hookups. Pro tip: ask the host about cold-weather prep including skirting, antifreeze in the lines, and a backup propane tank so you stay toasty.
