I am not a seasoned camper by any means. However I have had the opportunity to rent a few campers over the last 2 seasons. This camper has been my favorite. It was extremely spacious, clean and fully equipped. We were able to cook and host dinner for 4 large adults without climbing all over one another in the camper during the rainy evenings. Brooklyn provided a full white glove service with delivery, setup, pickup and even a "how to" session to answer my newbie questions. I could totally get used to camping in this rig. I will be starring this camper in the hopes to rent it again in the future. Thank you Brooklyn!

When the phrase “above and beyond” was created , Shiloh was who they had in mind. Not only did Shiloh rent us his RV for a really important family reunion in Aurora (on the other side of the mountain range), he rented us his truck as well because our vehicle wouldn’t haul it. He truly went above and beyond to accommodate our trip, making sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us daily to make sure all was well. You are in good hands booking with him, he is a man of his word and I would be happy to business with him again. Thanks again Shiloh!!

What license do I need to rent an RV in Erie, Colorado?

A standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Erie, Colorado, whether you're picking up a campervan or a 32-foot Class C motorhome. Colorado does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) for personal RVs under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every rig listed on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally required to be 25 or older, and your ID is verified securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from overseas? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit before arrival. Most first-time renters find the paperwork refreshingly simple.

Is my RV rental in Erie protected if something goes wrong?

Yes. Every RV rental in Erie booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head up I-25 or toward Rocky Mountain National Park with real peace of mind. You choose your coverage level at checkout (not the host), selecting the tier that fits your comfort and budget, and the plan helps cover most damage to the RV during your trip. What is the cancellation policy if my Erie RV trip plans change?

Booking an RV rental in Erie, CO is lower-risk than many travelers expect. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every booking includes a grace period right after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund. After that window, your refund depends on how far out your trip date is. Because the policy is managed centrally by RVezy and not displayed on individual listings, review the current terms on RVezy's Help Center before you book. Booking early helps you lock in the rig you want while still giving you flexibility within the grace period.

Can I bring my dog on an RV rental from Erie, CO?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental options in Erie are plentiful. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see rigs whose hosts welcome four-legged guests, and message the host with your pet's size and breed to confirm. Before hitting the road, Erie's Coal Creek Trail and the off-leash area at Erie Community Park are great places to stretch your dog's legs, and dog-friendly campgrounds like St. Vrain State Park and Boulder County's Pella Crossing make camping easy. Pack a collapsible water bowl, since Colorado's dry, high-altitude air can dehydrate dogs faster than they're used to.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Erie instead of picking it up?

Yes, RV delivery in Erie is one of the most popular options on RVezy and is a great choice if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the motorhome directly to your campsite at places like St. Vrain State Park or nearby Boulder County campgrounds, or even to your driveway in Erie, Lafayette, or Longmont. They'll level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system so you're not fumbling with valves on day one. Delivery fees typically run a per-mile rate set by the host. Ask about a stationary delivery setup if you'd like a no-driving glamping experience.

There are excellent options for RV camping within a short drive of Erie. St. Vrain State Park (about 12 miles north) offers full-hookup sites alongside stocked fishing ponds with mountain views. Boulder County's Pella Crossing is a peaceful day-use and limited-stay option, and Boyd Lake State Park near Loveland has popular lakeside RV sites. Heading west, Estes Park KOA and Jellystone Park of Estes put you minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, while Golden Gate Canyon State Park (about 40 miles southwest) is a quieter alpine pick. Reserve Colorado State Parks sites through CPW up to six months ahead, and book Rocky Mountain National Park sites like Moraine Park on Recreation.gov. Summer weekends sell out fast, so book the moment your window opens.

When is the best time to take an RV trip from Erie, Colorado?

Erie's Front Range climate offers a long, beautiful RV season. Late May through early October is the sweet spot, with daytime highs from the mid-70s to upper 80s and plenty of sunny days lighting up the Rockies. June and September are standouts: warm days, cool nights in the 50s, and thinner crowds at Rocky Mountain National Park. July afternoons often bring quick mountain thunderstorms, so plan mountain drives for the morning. Winter RV trips from Erie are also doable with cold-weather-ready rigs, though overnight temperatures can dip into the teens. Aim for the second week of September to catch the aspens turning gold along the Peak to Peak Highway.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I know how to use it?

You'll be in good hands. First time renting an RV in Erie is easier than most people expect. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup or delivery, showing you how to run the generator, slide-outs, water pump, propane, leveling, and dump valves. Many hosts also send a video tutorial ahead of your trip and stay reachable by text throughout. If anything comes up on the road, 24/7 roadside assistance is included with your protection plan. For your first Erie RV trip, consider a Class C motorhome or travel trailer under 25 feet: it handles Colorado's mountain switchbacks, such as Trail Ridge Road, more comfortably than a 35-foot rig.
nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/trail-ridge-road.htm

What happens if I break down or have trouble on the road?

You're covered. Every RV rental in Erie, CO booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so help is one call away whether you're on I-25, climbing Berthoud Pass, or boondocking near Pawnee National Grassland. Roadside support handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical breakdowns. Your host is also typically a quick text away to help troubleshoot anything specific to their rig. Snap photos of the RV's tire pressure sticker and VIN at pickup so you can share them quickly if you ever need service in a remote area like Cameron Pass.

Can I take my Erie RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is standard, and an RV road trip from Erie opens up some of the best scenery in the western U.S. Wyoming's Yellowstone (about 470 miles north), Utah's Arches and Moab (around 360 miles southwest), and South Dakota's Black Hills (roughly 400 miles northeast) are classic runs from the Front Range. Cross-border trips into Canada may be possible depending on the host and insurance coverage, so message the host directly before booking if Banff or Jasper are on your list. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance does not extend south of the border. Confirm your full route with the host through RVezy's messaging before departure.

How much should I budget for fuel on an Erie RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier costs to plan. Gas prices in the Erie and Boulder County area typically run a bit above the national average. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, while campervans and smaller travel trailers paired with a half-ton truck average 14 to 18 MPG. A weeklong loop covering 600 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, and back to Erie usually runs $200 to $350 in fuel. Fill up in Erie or Longmont before heading into the mountains, since gas in towns like Estes Park and Grand Lake often costs noticeably more per gallon.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Erie?

Earlier is always better for RV camping near Erie. Colorado Parks and Wildlife opens reservations six months ahead, and popular spots like St. Vrain State Park, Boyd Lake, and Golden Gate Canyon can book out within hours for summer weekends. Rocky Mountain National Park campgrounds (Moraine Park, Glacier Basin, Aspenglen) also release six months out on Recreation.gov and fill almost instantly for July and August. For shoulder season trips in May or September, two to four weeks of lead time is usually plenty. Set a calendar alarm for 8:00 a.m. Mountain Time on your reservation window's opening day to maximize your chances.

What are local driving conditions like around Erie?

Driving an RV around Erie is genuinely beginner-friendly, the town sits on flat Front Range plains with wide roads and easy access to US-287, CO-7, and I-25. The big things to watch are sudden afternoon thunderstorms in summer (which can bring hail), strong west winds funneling off the Rockies, and snow squalls from November through March. If you're heading west into the mountains, Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park tops out at 12,183 feet and closes seasonally, while passes like Berthoud and Cameron require slow, steady driving in a heavy rig. Pro tip: check CDOT's COtrip app before any mountain drive, it shows live road closures, chain laws, and webcams.
codot.gov/travel/winter-driving

What hookups and amenities will I find at campgrounds near Erie?

You'll find a great mix of options. Most full-service RV parks near Erie, such as St. Vrain State Park and Estes Park KOA, offer 30 and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups, plus dump stations, potable water fills, hot showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi at many private parks. National forest and state park sites tend to be electric-only or fully dry, with a central dump station. Dump stations are available at nearby Boulder County facilities and several gas stations along US-287. Top off your fresh water in town before heading to higher-elevation sites like Olive Ridge or Longs Peak Campground, since not all alpine sites have potable water on tap.

What's inside a typical Erie RV rental?

Erie RV rentals are road-trip ready out of the box. Expect a real bed (queen or king in most Class C motorhomes and travel trailers), a kitchen with fridge, freezer, propane stove, microwave, and sink, plus a full bathroom with toilet and shower. Most rigs include air conditioning, furnace heat, a TV, USB charging, and seatbelted seats for everyone riding. Wi-Fi and onboard generators are common, and many Colorado hosts include camp chairs, outdoor mats, and sometimes bikes. For a winter RV trip, ask about heated holding tanks and four-season insulation. Message the host with your group size to confirm seatbelt count matches sleep count, an important detail for any family RV trip from Erie into the mountains.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Erie%2C+Colorado

What add-ons can I get with my motorhome rental in Erie?

There are plenty of useful add-ons, and most are reasonably priced. Erie hosts commonly offer kitchen kits, linen and bedding bundles, extra generator hours, portable propane fire pits, bike racks, kayaks, and even Starlink Wi-Fi for remote camping. Pickup and dropoff usually happen at the host's location in Erie, Lafayette, Longmont, or Broomfield, with delivery available to local campgrounds for a per-mile fee set by the host. Mileage policies vary by listing and are shown clearly on each listing page. Bundle add-ons at booking instead of asking later, since hosts often discount multi-item bundles.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Erie, CO on RVezy, you pay the rental cost, service fee, and your chosen protection plan upfront through the platform: no cash exchange with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before pickup and released after the trip wraps up clean and damage-free. To avoid deposit issues, do a thorough pre-trip walkthrough with the host, photograph every angle of the RV at pickup and dropoff, return it with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and dump the tanks if your host requires it. Keep the host's text thread open as your written record through RVezy messaging.

Can I take a winter RV trip from Erie, Colorado?

Yes, a winter RV trip from Erie is a hidden gem. Many Erie hosts list four-season rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and strong furnaces, ideal for ski trips to Winter Park (about 75 miles west), Eldora (around 35 miles), or Steamboat Springs (roughly 160 miles). Many winter campers stay at full-hookup parks like Tiger Run RV Resort in Breckenridge or use shore power at lower-elevation parks like Chatfield State Park. Daytime temperatures in Erie typically range from the upper 30s to mid-40s in winter, with overnight lows in the teens. Ask your host for a quick lesson on antifreeze in the gray tank and keeping the freshwater hose heated to keep your trip comfortable.
