2022 Grand Design Travel Trailer
I am not a seasoned camper by any means. However I have had the opportunity to rent a few campers over the last 2 seasons. This camper has been my favorite. It was extremely spacious, clean and fully equipped. We were able to cook and host dinner for 4 large adults without climbing all over one another in the camper during the rainy evenings. Brooklyn provided a full white glove service with delivery, setup, pickup and even a "how to" session to answer my newbie questions. I could totally get used to camping in this rig. I will be starring this camper in the hopes to rent it again in the future. Thank you Brooklyn!

When the phrase “above and beyond” was created , Shiloh was who they had in mind. Not only did Shiloh rent us his RV for a really important family reunion in Aurora (on the other side of the mountain range), he rented us his truck as well because our vehicle wouldn’t haul it. He truly went above and beyond to accommodate our trip, making sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us daily to make sure all was well. You are in good hands booking with him, he is a man of his word and I would be happy to business with him again. Thanks again Shiloh!!

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Lafayette?

Lafayette is a true three-season RV destination with a bonus winter window for experienced renters. Late May through early October is prime time, with summer highs typically in the mid-80s and cool evenings perfect for RV camping. June brings wildflowers in the high country, while September delivers golden aspens and far fewer crowds, a favorite shoulder-season pick. You will do great, first time renting an RV is more common than you'd think, and Lafayette is an ideal launchpad. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering how to level, hook up power and water, operate the slide-outs, dump tanks, and drive safely. You can also message your host any time during the trip with questions. By night two, you'll feel ready to point the rig toward the mountains.

What are the best RV road trips from Lafayette?

Lafayette is an unbeatable basecamp for an RV road trip. Head about 50 miles northwest to Rocky Mountain National Park via Estes Park for alpine lakes and elk sightings. Drive about 100 miles south on I-25 to Colorado Springs and Garden of the Gods. The Peak to Peak Scenic Byway (CO-72/119) winds through Nederland and Black Hawk with stunning overlooks, about 90 minutes from town. Feeling ambitious? Glenwood Springs is about 180 miles west via I-70, and Great Sand Dunes National Park sits about 230 miles south. Crossing into Wyoming is allowed on most rentals, just confirm with your host. Mexico travel is not permitted on RVezy rentals.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in Colorado?

Plan smart and fuel won't surprise you. Campervan rental Lafayette options (Class B) average 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes get 10 to 14 mpg, and big Class A or fifth-wheel setups land around 7 to 10 mpg. Colorado fuel prices typically run near or slightly above the national average along the Front Range. For a 500-mile loop in a Class C, budget roughly $150 to $225 for fuel depending on current prices. Diesel pull-throughs are easy to find at Love's and Pilot stations along I-25 and I-70. Top off in Lafayette or Longmont before heading into the mountains, fuel tends to get pricier the higher you climb.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Lafayette?

Earlier is better in Colorado, especially for summer. Colorado state parks like St. Vrain and Golden Gate Canyon open reservations 6 months in advance through Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and prime summer weekends often fill within days of release. National forest sites and Rocky Mountain National Park campgrounds book through Recreation.gov on a similar 6-month rolling window. Private parks like Boulder County Fairgrounds and KOAs are typically easier to grab 2 to 4 weeks out. If your dates are flexible, target Sunday through Thursday arrivals, you'll find availability even in July and the campgrounds feel blissfully quiet.

What are driving conditions like around Lafayette?

Driving an RV around Lafayette is refreshingly easy, the town sits in the Front Range plains at about 5,200 feet elevation, with wide roads and modest traffic compared to Denver. US-36 and I-25 are your main arteries and both handle big rigs comfortably. Heading west into the mountains, expect steeper grades, switchbacks, and altitude changes once you climb past Boulder toward Nederland or Estes Park, take it slow and use lower gears on descents. Summer afternoon thunderstorms can roll in quickly, and winter brings occasional snow and ice from October through April. Avoid I-25 and US-36 through Denver during weekday rush hours (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.) for the smoothest drive.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Lafayette?

Front Range campgrounds are well-equipped for a smooth RV camping Lafayette experience. Most developed sites at St. Vrain State Park, Boulder County Fairgrounds, and area KOAs offer 30 and 50-amp electric, potable water fill stations, and dump stations on site. Full hookups (electric, water, sewer at the site) are common at private parks, while state parks usually offer electric-only with a central dump station. Public dump stations are available in the Longmont area and at most truck stops along I-25. Showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi are standard at private campgrounds. Fill your fresh water tank before heading to higher-elevation national forest sites, many are dry camping only.

What's included inside a typical RV rental in Lafayette?

Most Lafayette motorhome rental and travel trailer listings come fully equipped so you can focus on the trip, not the gear list. Expect a queen or king bed, plus convertible dinettes and bunks (great for a family RV trip Lafayette adventure), a kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave, and basic cookware, and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Many rigs include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, a roof-mounted AC, and a furnace for chilly mountain nights. Seatbelted seats are listed for each RV, important when traveling with kids. Generators, solar setups, and Wi-Fi hotspots are common add-ons. Always check the listing's amenity list and message the host if you need something specific.

What add-ons can I get and how do pickup and drop-off work?

Lafayette hosts make it easy to customize your trip. Popular add-ons include camping chairs and tables ($10 to $25), bedding and linens packages ($30 to $75), kitchen kits, bike racks, generators, propane refills, and Starlink or hotspot Wi-Fi. Pickup usually happens at the host's home in Lafayette, Erie, Louisville, or Boulder, where they'll do a full walkthrough lasting 30 to 45 minutes. Drop-off is at the same location with the tanks emptied and the fuel topped off (or pay a refill fee). Mileage policies and any generator-hour limits are clearly listed on each listing, no surprises.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy directly when you book using a credit or debit card, so you never hand cash to the host. The security deposit is separate from your booking payment and is placed as a pre-authorization hold on your card (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) before your trip, then released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. To avoid any deposit issues, take time-stamped photos at pickup and drop-off, return the rig clean with tanks emptied as instructed, and stay in touch with your host if anything unexpected pops up.
