My wife and I are thinking of buying an RV and decided to rent one and see if it was a good fit. What a stroke of luck it was finding Kerri and her rental unit. It was perfect for the two of us. We didn't need to pack anything but our tooth brushes. This camper had everything you needed from chairs to games to a completely stocked bathroom with anything you would need to refresh. It was exactly what a couple of novice campers needed. You will not be disappointed renting this unit. Kerri deserves 5 stars.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Kingsland, GA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Kingsland?

RV rental in Kingsland is one of the more affordable ways to explore Georgia's Colonial Coast. On RVezy, you'll typically see travel trailers from around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes between $175 and $275 per night, and larger Class A rigs from $250 to $400 nightly. Because hosts set their own pricing, you can filter by price range or sort by lowest to find a cheap RV rental in Kingsland that still has great reviews. Pro tip: book a midweek stay in February or November when snowbird traffic on I-95 thins out and nightly rates often drop. Travel trailers are usually the best value if you have a tow vehicle.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Kingsland?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Kingsland. The State of Georgia does not require a commercial driver's license or any special RV endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers. On RVezy, approved drivers are generally 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and you'll confirm your ID securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home-country license along with an International Driving Permit and you're ready to roll. Most first-time renters in Camden County are surprised how simple the paperwork actually is.

What happens if I need to cancel my Kingsland RV rental?

You can book your Kingsland RV trip with confidence because RVezy, not individual hosts, sets the cancellation policy for every reservation on the platform. You won't see different cancellation rules from listing to listing because it's handled centrally by RVezy. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit. Customer support is available before, during, and after the trip to walk you through your options.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Kingsland?

Late fall through early spring is the sweet spot for RV camping in Kingsland. From November through March, daytime highs sit around 60 to 72°F, nights cool to the 40s and 50s, humidity drops, and the notorious sand gnats and mosquitoes nearly disappear. This is also peak season for migratory birds in the salt marshes of Crooked River State Park. Summer (June to August) is hot and humid with highs in the low 90s and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, so plan early-morning drives and shaded campsites. Local insider tip: book a Kingsland RV trip for January or February when snowbirds fill Florida parks but Georgia sites are still available.

I've never driven an RV before, will I be okay in Kingsland?

You'll be just fine, Kingsland is one of the friendlier places in Georgia for first time renting an RV. Roads here are flat, wide, and lightly trafficked outside of I-95, and your RVezy host will give you a full pickup orientation covering driving, slide-outs, water, sewage, propane, and the generator before you ever pull away. Many hosts also send video walkthroughs after booking so you can review at your own pace. If city driving makes you nervous, choose delivery and let the host park and set up at Crooked River State Park or Country Oaks for you. You can also message any host through the listing page with questions before booking. Confidence beats horsepower every time.

For larger issues, RVezy customer support coordinates next steps. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the RV's VIN, license plate, and the fuse panel location during your walkthrough so you have everything ready if you ever need to call.

What are the best RV road trips from Kingsland?

Kingsland is a launchpad for some seriously fun routes. A classic RV road trip from Kingsland heads north on I-95 to historic Savannah (about 110 miles, 2 hours) and on to Hilton Head or Charleston, SC (215 miles total). Drive south and you're in Jacksonville in 40 minutes, St. Augustine in just over an hour, or Daytona Beach in two hours. For wild Georgia adventure, head about 70 miles west to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge for alligator-spotting paddle trips. Cross-state trips up and down the Eastern Seaboard are absolutely allowed on RVezy. Local insider tip: leave Kingsland by 8 a.m. to dodge the Jacksonville rush-hour squeeze on I-295.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in coastal Georgia?

Fuel is one of the easier line items to plan for a Kingsland RV trip. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 mpg, and Class A rigs 6 to 10 mpg. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle but expect a 20 to 30 percent hit to your truck's normal mpg. Georgia gas prices tend to run noticeably below the national average, and Kingsland's Flying J and Pilot at I-95 Exits 1 and 3 cater to large rigs with easy pull-through diesel lanes. Pro tip: fill up in Kingsland before crossing into Florida, where fuel taxes are typically higher. Budget around $0.35 to $0.55 per mile in fuel for a typical Class C.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Kingsland?

For peace of mind, book your campsite as soon as your RV rental in Georgia is confirmed. Crooked River State Park accepts reservations up to 13 months out through the Georgia State Parks system at GaStateParks.org or by calling 1-800-864-7275, and winter weekends (December through March) regularly sell out 3 to 6 months ahead because of snowbird traffic. Private parks like Country Oaks and the local KOA usually have more last-minute availability, often within a week or two. Pro tip: if Crooked River is full, set a free availability alert through ReserveAmerica, cancellations are surprisingly common. For summer weekends, 2 to 3 months ahead is usually plenty since coastal Georgia is hot enough to keep crowds lighter.

What are driving conditions like around Kingsland?

Driving an RV around Kingsland is genuinely beginner-friendly. The terrain is flat, roads are wide, and I-95, US-17, and GA-40 are the main arteries, all with generous shoulders and frequent rest areas. The trickiest moments are usually I-95 truck traffic between Kingsland and Jacksonville during weekday rush hours, and occasional summer thunderstorms that can produce heavy downpours and brief flash flooding on low-lying coastal roads. Watch for low-clearance areas in historic downtown St. Marys if you're driving anything over 11 feet tall. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, so check the National Hurricane Center forecast before heading out. Local tip: GA-40 east toward Crooked River is a scenic, low-stress route perfect for shaking off road jitters.

What amenities do campgrounds near Kingsland have?

Kingsland-area campgrounds are well-equipped for stress-free RV camping. Crooked River State Park offers 30 and 50-amp electric, water, sewer at most sites, hot showers, laundry, a dump station, Wi-Fi near the office, and even bike and kayak rentals. Country Oaks Campground & RV Park has a pool, propane refills on-site, and a dog park. The St. Marys KOA includes a camp store, cabins, and a playground. Public dump stations are available at Crooked River State Park even if you're not camping there, for a small fee. Fresh water fill-ups are easy to find at any of these parks. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot sewer hose and a water pressure regulator since coastal Georgia spigots can run high pressure.

Many also feature TVs, Bluetooth stereos, outdoor showers handy after beach days, awnings, and built-in generators for off-grid use. Linens, kitchenware, camp chairs, and outdoor mats are often offered as included or low-cost add-ons. Check the listing's amenity list and message the host with any must-haves. Pro tip: prioritize a unit with a 13,500+ BTU AC for summer trips and a power awning for shade at Crooked River sites.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Kingsland hosts make customizing your rental easy. Common add-ons include linen and towel packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits, generator hours, bike racks, kayaks, fire pits, and pet cleaning fees ($50 to $150). Pickup is typically at the host's home in or near Kingsland or St. Marys, with delivery available to Crooked River State Park, Country Oaks, or a private address for an added fee. Most hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night with a $0.30 to $0.45 per-mile rate after that, and some offer unlimited-mileage upgrades. How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment for your RV rental in Kingsland is handled securely through the RVezy platform, no cash, no awkward host transactions. You'll pay your rental total and any add-ons with a credit or debit card during booking, and a refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before pickup. Deposit amounts vary by RV and are released after the trip once the host confirms the rig was returned in good shape with tanks emptied and fuel topped off as agreed. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos and a quick video of the interior, exterior, and odometer at both pickup and drop-off, it's the simplest way to keep your deposit return smooth and fast.
