Norman is fantastic to work with. We just completed our second trip with his van as repeat customers, and it was great yet again. He was incredibly responsive to our needs and questions, and was very flexible to our situation and always very accommodating. The van drives very well and was incredibly comfortable for our family of 4. Highly recommended!

You’re not going to get a better host than Bill or a nicer RV for that price point than this one! As a new RV user, we had a TON of questions before and during our trip. Bill could not have been easier to deal with and his communication was excellent throughout our rental. Bill made our trip trouble-free and AMAZING - Five stars all around for sure!

Jessica communicated well but the RV had more wear than what was shown in the pictures. The seats and trim were old and had wear. The generator would not start so we were not able to use it while traveling. The door between bedroom and kitchen was a constant struggle to open and close. For the price the camper was good. It drove well and had no mechanical issues.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Pooler, GA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Pooler, GA?

RV rental in Pooler is a budget-friendly alternative to hotel stays during Savannah's busy festival weekends. Travel trailers typically run $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275, and larger Class A coaches sit closer to $250 to $400. Many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts, so a Pooler RV trip stretched over 5+ nights usually beats a short booking on price per day. Book Sunday through Thursday when possible, and avoid St. Patrick's Day weekend in nearby Savannah (mid-March), when rates and demand spike across the coast. Use the price filter on RVezy and message hosts directly to ask about long-stay discounts.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Pooler, GA?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Pooler. The Georgia Department of Driver Services confirms that recreational vehicles used for personal travel do not require a Commercial Driver's License, so your standard Class C license covers nearly every motorhome and towable on RVezy. To book, you must be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID inside the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit and you're set. Most first-time renters in Pooler are surprised at how quick the approval is, usually within minutes.

What's the cancellation policy for an RV rental in Pooler?

Booking an RV rental in Pooler is low-risk. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy across the platform, and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in your dates with confidence. After that window, refund amounts depend on how far ahead of your trip you cancel. Coastal Georgia occasionally sees tropical storms between June and November; if a named storm threatens the Savannah area, contact RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options. If your host cancels, RVezy ensures you receive a refund or travel credit. Plan your Pooler RV trip now without sweating an unpredictable forecast months out.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Pooler?

Yes, RV delivery in Pooler is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a big rig through the Pooler Parkway shopping corridor or Savannah's historic squares. Filter for Delivery on the search page and you'll find hosts who will tow or drive the RV directly to CreekFire RV Resort, Red Gate Farms, Savannah South KOA, or even a private driveway, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Delivery fees vary by host and distance. Delivery to River's End Campground on Tybee Island is ideal for a beach-focused family trip, no towing required.

To put it in perspective: Tybee Island is about 20 miles away, Hilton Head Island is about 45 miles, Jekyll Island is roughly 90 miles south on I-95, Charleston is 110 miles north, and the Okefenokee Swamp is about 130 miles southwest. Where are the best campgrounds near Pooler for RV camping?

Savannah South KOA Holiday is family-friendly with a pool and cabins. For a more natural feel, Skidaway Island State Park (about 30 minutes south) offers shady sites under Spanish moss, and Fort McAllister State Park (40 minutes) blends marsh views with Civil War history. When is the best time to visit Pooler in an RV?

The sweet spot for a Pooler RV trip is mid-February through May and again from October through November, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 65°F to 82°F range and humidity is much more bearable. March and April bring blooming azaleas and the famous Savannah St. Patrick's Day parade just 15 minutes away. October delivers crisp evenings perfect for campfires at CreekFire RV Resort. Summer (June through August) is hot and humid, with highs around 90°F to 92°F, high heat indexes, and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, so plan early-morning beach trips. Winters are mild (highs near 60°F), and most local campgrounds stay open year-round, making December a quiet, affordable Pooler RV rental season.

I've never rented an RV before. Is Pooler a good place to start?

Pooler is one of the friendliest spots in the Southeast for a first time renting an RV. The terrain is flat, the major roads (I-95, I-16, and US-80) are wide and well-marked, and most campgrounds within 20 minutes have pull-through sites that don't require backing in. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through propane, slide-outs, leveling, dump procedures, and the generator, so you're never left guessing. If you'd rather skip driving altogether, filter for Delivery and have the host bring the RV directly to your site. Book a Class C motorhome or small travel trailer for your first trip; they handle much like a large van.

What happens if my RV breaks down during my trip from Pooler?

You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you're 5 minutes from downtown Pooler or stuck on the causeway out to Tybee Island, help is one phone call away. Roadside assistance handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical breakdowns, and the response team can dispatch to coastal Georgia's network of service centers along I-95 between Pooler and Brunswick. Your host is also just a message away to troubleshoot small items like a tripped breaker or a finicky water pump. Snap a photo of the RV's tire info and VIN at pickup so the support team can dispatch help faster if you ever need it.

Can I take my Pooler RV rental across state lines or into Canada or Mexico?

Yes, interstate travel is welcome and easy from Pooler, since I-95 and I-16 run right through town. Popular cross-state routes include Charleston, SC (about 110 miles north), the Florida coast and St. Augustine (about 175 miles south), Asheville, NC (about 320 miles), and Atlanta (about 250 miles). Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and insurance, so message them directly through their listing to confirm before booking. Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because the protection plan and insurance don't extend across that border. A 7-day RV road trip from Pooler down through Jekyll Island, Amelia Island, and St. Augustine is one of the South's best coastal loops.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Pooler RV trip?

Fuel is one of the most predictable costs of your Pooler RV trip. Georgia consistently has some of the lower gas prices in the country, with diesel widely available at Pilot, Love's, and TA travel centers right off Pooler's I-95 Exit 102. Plan on roughly 7 to 10 MPG for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C or large travel trailer, and 18 to 22 MPG for a Class B campervan. A 5-day, 500-mile loop to Tybee, Jekyll, and back typically runs $150 to $300 in fuel depending on current prices. Fill up in Pooler before heading to Tybee Island, where gas often runs noticeably more.

How far in advance should I book a campsite near Pooler?

For private resorts like CreekFire RV Resort and Red Gate Farms, book 2 to 4 months ahead for spring and fall weekends, and 6+ months ahead for Savannah's St. Patrick's Day weekend. For Georgia state parks like Skidaway Island and Fort McAllister, reservations open 13 months in advance through the Georgia State Parks reservation system, and a deposit holds your spot. Holiday weekends, especially Memorial Day, July 4th, and Thanksgiving, sell out the fastest. Midweek nights (Tuesday and Wednesday) are often wide open even in peak season, so a Pooler RV trip built around a Sunday-to-Thursday window is the smart-money play.

What are driving conditions like in and around Pooler?

Pooler is one of the easier coastal cities to drive an RV in. Interstate 95 and Interstate 16 intersect right at Exit 102, giving you wide, flat, well-maintained highways with generous shoulders, and Pooler Parkway and US-80 are designed for the heavy commercial traffic from the Port of Savannah. Two things to watch for on your motorhome rental Pooler trip: afternoon thunderstorms from June through September can drop heavy rain fast, and the causeway out to Tybee Island (US-80) is narrow with marsh on both sides, so go slow in wind. Avoid driving into downtown Savannah's Historic District; the squares and low oak branches aren't RV-friendly. Park in Pooler and rideshare or take the shuttle in.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Pooler?

Campgrounds near Pooler are well-equipped for a comfortable RV camping experience. Private resorts like CreekFire and Red Gate Farms offer full hookups (30/50-amp electric, water, sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and on-site stores. Georgia state parks such as Skidaway Island and Fort McAllister provide electric and water hookups at most RV sites, plus a dump station, hot showers, and laundry, all under that iconic Spanish moss canopy. Need to dump or refill on the road? Camping World of Savannah in Pooler, Love's Travel Stop, and Fort McAllister State Park have dump stations. Most coastal campgrounds offer 50-amp service, so confirm your rental's plug type with your host before arrival.

What's actually included inside the RV I rent in Pooler?

More than you'd expect. Most RVs on RVezy in Pooler come fully equipped: a real bed (or two or three), a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control (essential for that 90°F Georgia summer), seatbelts for every passenger, and often a TV with streaming. Many Class A and Class C motorhomes include a generator for boondocking, and most listings include linens, towels, and kitchen basics, or offer them as a small add-on. Wi-Fi varies, but cell service is strong throughout the Pooler-Savannah area, so a phone hotspot works great. Check each listing's amenities tab to confirm exactly what's included before you book.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Pooler%2C%20GA

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Pooler hosts offer some genuinely useful add-ons that make life easier. Common options include linen and kitchen kits, portable grills, generators, beach chairs and umbrellas (a smart pick for Tybee Island), camping tables, bike racks, and even kayaks at some listings. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Pooler, Bloomingdale, or Garden City, all within 15 minutes of Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), making it easy if you're flying in. Most hosts allow same-day pickup and return during daytime hours, with mileage policies ranging from 100 miles per day to unlimited. Bundle delivery, setup, and a linen kit and your first RV trip basically runs itself.

How does payment and the security deposit work when I rent an RV in Pooler?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your Pooler RV rental through RVezy, you pay the full rental cost upfront via credit card through the platform, never directly to the host, which protects you and creates a clear record. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card a few days before pickup and released after return, assuming no damage. To avoid issues: do a thorough walkaround with your host at pickup, take date-stamped photos and a quick video of the interior and exterior, and note any pre-existing scratches or dings on the checklist. Easy in, easy out.

Where can I park an RV overnight in Pooler outside of a campground?

You have solid options for an overnight stop near Pooler. The Cracker Barrel near Exit 102 off I-95 is well-known for allowing RV overnight parking in marked RV spaces; call ahead to confirm with the manager and have a meal as a thank-you. Some retail lots in the area have historically allowed overnight RV parking, but policies change frequently and many now post no-overnight signs, so don't count on them. For a guaranteed spot, CreekFire RV Resort and Red Gate Farms often have last-minute availability midweek. Harvest Hosts members can also find unique overnight stays at nearby farms and wineries just outside Pooler.
