2024 Keystone Travel Trailer
We had such a wonderful experience renting this RV! The owner was absolutely fantastic—so kind, accommodating, and incredibly flexible throughout the entire process. Communication was seamless, he was always quick to respond, and he went above and beyond to make everything easy and stress-free. The RV itself was spotless, in pristine condition, and clearly very well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely rent from him again. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Millerton, NY
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Millerton, NY?
RV rental in Millerton is more affordable than many travelers expect, with nightly prices generally ranging from around $90 for a compact campervan to $250 or more for a fully equipped Class A motorhome. Travel trailers typically fall in the $125 to $200 per night range, a sweet spot for families exploring the Harlem Valley. To find a cheap RV rental in Millerton, book midweek, target shoulder months like May or late September, and look for listings with included generator hours and generous mileage. Many local hosts also offer weekly discounts, which add up quickly on a leaf-peeping tour through the Taconics.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Millerton%2C%20New%20YorkWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Millerton, NY?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Millerton, whether you are picking up a compact campervan or a 30-foot Class C motorhome. New York does not require a special RV endorsement or Commercial Driver's License for personal recreational vehicles under 26,000 pounds, which covers every rental on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and your identification is verified securely through the RVezy platform when you book. Visiting from overseas? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit and you are set to cruise Route 22 toward the Berkshires.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RVezy insurance and protection included when I rent an RV in Millerton?
Every RV rental in Millerton booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can enjoy the Harlem Valley Rail Trail with peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level at checkout based on the peace of mind you want. It provides strong financial protection so a small bump on a winding Taconic back road does not derail your trip. Select your protection tier at booking and you are road-ready.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Millerton RV trip plans change?
Booking your Millerton RV trip is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform, not individual hosts. That means consistent, traveler-friendly rules whether you are renting a campervan for a Harney and Sons tea weekend or a motorhome for a Hudson Valley loop. There is a money-back grace period right after booking, and your refund eligibility after that depends on how far in advance you cancel. If a host cancels, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credit, and support is available 24/7 to help. Review the full policy before booking so you know exactly where you stand.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Millerton, NY?
Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Millerton is easy to find: toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome furry co-pilots. Millerton is a dog lover's town, with leashed pups welcome on the 26-mile Harlem Valley Rail Trail right out of downtown and on trails at Rudd Pond in Taconic State Park. Many local restaurants offer dog-friendly patio seating, so your pup never has to wait in the rig. Message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees or size limits, and pack a tie-out and water bowl for campsite hangs.
parks.ny.gov/parks/taconicCan the RV be delivered to my campground near Millerton?
Yes, RV delivery in Millerton is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drive the motorhome or travel trailer directly to your campsite at Rudd Pond, Copake Falls, or Lake Taghkanic State Park, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. You skip the stress of towing or maneuvering an unfamiliar rig down narrow roads like NY-22. Delivery fees are typically based on mileage from the host, so filter by Delivery on RVezy, message a host with your destination, and let them handle the heavy lifting.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Millerton%2C%20New%20YorkHow many miles do I get with my Millerton RV rental, and where can I drive?
Mileage policies for your RV rental in Millerton, NY are set by each host, with most offering between 100 and 150 free miles per night and some listings featuring RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is gold for a longer Hudson Valley road trip. From Millerton you're perfectly positioned: it's about 25 miles to Hudson, NY, 45 miles to the Berkshires in Lenox, MA, 60 miles to Litchfield, CT, around 100 miles south to New York City, and 150 miles to Lake George. dot.ny.gov/main/business-center/consultants/repository/mapsWhere are the best campgrounds near Millerton, NY for RV camping?
You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping near Millerton. Rudd Pond Area in Taconic State Park sits just a few miles north of the village and offers waterfront sites, swimming, and fishing. Copake Falls Area, also part of Taconic State Park, is a short drive north with great hiking to Bash Bish Falls. Lake Taghkanic State Park, about 35 minutes away, has electric sites and a sanitary dump station, making it a solid choice for larger rigs. For a private-park feel, Interlake RV Park in nearby Rhinebeck offers full hookups. Reserve through ReserveAmerica well in advance for summer and fall weekends, since the best sites fill quickly.
parks.ny.gov/parks/83/details.aspxWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Millerton, NY?
Millerton shines from late May through mid-October, with the absolute peak being late September into mid-October when the Taconic and Berkshire foliage explodes into reds and golds. Summer days run a comfortable 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit with cool 55 to 65 degree nights perfect for campfires, while spring brings blooming countryside and fewer crowds. Winter dips into the teens and twenties with regular snow, so most state-park campgrounds close from late October through mid-May. For the sweet spot of great weather, lower rates, and open trails, target the first three weekends of October and book your Millerton RV trip at least two months ahead.
weather.gov/aly/I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in Millerton beginner-friendly?
Millerton is a fantastic place for first time renting an RV: rural roads, modest traffic, and patient locals. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering generator, propane, slide-outs, water systems, and dumping, so you'll never feel left to figure it out alone. If you'd rather skip driving entirely, choose a host who offers delivery and setup at your campsite. For your first solo drive, stick to wider routes like US-44 or the Taconic State Parkway (cars only, so know your route) instead of narrow back roads like Under Mountain Road. Pro tip: start with a Class B campervan or small travel trailer; they handle just like a large SUV.
dmv.ny.gov/new-drivers/drivers-manual-and-practice-testsWhat happens if I have a breakdown or issue during my Millerton RV trip?
You are covered. Every RV rental in Millerton booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on Route 22 or a dead battery at Rudd Pond is just a phone call away from help. The roadside team can dispatch tire service, jump-starts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest service center. For non-emergency issues like a finicky furnace or a stuck slide, message your host first since they know their rig best, and RVezy support is reachable around the clock as backup. Save both numbers in your phone before you leave the driveway and you can truly relax.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Millerton, NY?
An RV road trip from Millerton puts you within easy reach of some of the Northeast's best scenery. Head 45 miles east to the Berkshires for Tanglewood concerts and MASS MoCA in North Adams. Drive 25 miles northwest to Hudson, NY for antiques and riverfront dining. Cruise 60 miles south through Litchfield Hills wine country in Connecticut. Push 150 miles north to Lake George and the Adirondacks, or 100 miles south to the Jersey Shore for a beach pivot. Cross-border into Canada is allowed with many hosts (confirm during booking), but Mexico travel isn't covered by RVezy insurance. Pro tip: loop Millerton, Hudson, Lenox, and Litchfield for a five-day countryside circuit you'll never forget.
iloveny.com/places-to-go/hudson-valley/How much should I budget for fuel on a Millerton RV trip?
Fuel is one of the easier line items to plan. Expect 8 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, 15 to 18 MPG for a campervan, and around 12 to 16 MPG for a truck towing a travel trailer. Gas prices in the Millerton area typically run a bit above the national average, often $3.40 to $3.80 per gallon at stations in Millerton, Amenia, and Pine Plains. For a 300-mile weekend loop through the Hudson Valley in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $120 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Pine Plains or across the Connecticut border in Canaan, where prices are often cheaper than in-village pumps.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Millerton?
For summer and fall weekends, book your campsite as soon as possible: New York State Parks like Taconic (Rudd Pond and Copake Falls) and Lake Taghkanic accept reservations up to nine months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and the most desirable sites get snapped up the day the window opens. For midweek stays in spring or early fall, two to four weeks ahead is usually fine. Private parks like Interlake RV typically open bookings 6 to 12 months out. Pro tip: if you strike out on a Saturday in October during peak foliage, try Sunday-to-Thursday stays, which are wide open and let you enjoy a quieter Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
parks.ny.gov/camping/What are the driving conditions like around Millerton?
Driving an RV around Millerton is genuinely pleasant most of the year: rolling two-lane roads, light traffic outside summer Saturdays, and beautiful scenery. The main routes (NY-22, US-44, and NY-199) are well-maintained and motorhome-friendly. A few heads-ups: the Taconic State Parkway is closed to commercial vehicles, so route around it via US-9 or NY-22 if your rig is restricted. Watch for sharp turns and steep grades on back roads like Under Mountain Road and Mount Riga Road. Winter brings snow and ice from November through March. Check 511NY before heading out for real-time road and weather updates across the region.
511ny.org/What amenities do campgrounds near Millerton offer, and where can I dump and fill water?
Local campgrounds cover a broad spectrum. Lake Taghkanic State Park offers electric sites and a sanitary dump station, while Rudd Pond and Copake Falls in Taconic State Park provide more basic camping with shared water spigots, restrooms, and dump access for self-contained RVs. Interlake RV in Rhinebeck offers full hookups and additional amenities. New York state-park dump stations are typically included with your camping reservation. Top off fresh water at the campground before checkout to avoid scrambling later, and pack a drinking-water hose and a sewer kit (most RVezy hosts include these, but confirm in the listing).
parks.ny.gov/parks/lake-taghkanicWhat should I expect inside a typical Millerton RV rental?
You will feel right at home. A motorhome rental in Millerton typically includes a full kitchen with propane stove, microwave, and fridge or freezer, a bathroom with shower and toilet, sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on the rig, climate control with air conditioning and a furnace, and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Most rigs also have a flat-screen TV, USB charging, and a generator or solar setup, and many hosts offer mobile WiFi hotspots as an add-on, helpful since cell service can dip in the Taconic hills. Campervan rental in Millerton tends to be more minimalist with convertible beds and cassette toilets. Always check the listing amenities and ask the host about anything important to you.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Millerton%2C%20New%20YorkWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
RVezy hosts in Millerton offer useful add-ons such as linen and kitchen kits, camping chairs and outdoor rugs, generator hours, bike racks (handy for the Harlem Valley Rail Trail), portable grills, and tow packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Millerton, Amenia, Copake, or Pine Plains, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Many hosts offer delivery to campgrounds like Rudd Pond or Lake Taghkanic for a per-mile fee. Mileage caps and overage fees vary by host, so check the listing details before booking. Bundle add-ons during booking instead of asking at pickup; it is easier and guarantees availability.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Millerton%2C%20New%20YorkHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure: RVezy processes your booking through the platform with a major credit or debit card, so you never hand cash to the host. You pay the rental cost plus service fees at booking, and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup, separate from your booking payment. As long as you return the RV in the same condition you received it (clean, with tanks dumped per the agreement, and no damage), your deposit is released after the trip. Take date-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and tank levels at pickup and drop-off to avoid disputes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I take my Millerton RV rental into Canada or across state lines?
Yes, interstate trips are fully encouraged. From Millerton you can easily explore Connecticut, Massachusetts (about 45 minutes to the Berkshires), New Jersey, Vermont, and Pennsylvania with your RVezy protection plan valid throughout the United States. Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed with many hosts, but you must get the host's written approval and confirm insurance coverage before crossing; message them through the listing. Travel to Mexico is not covered by RVezy and is not permitted. A popular regional loop is Millerton to the Berkshires to southern Vermont and back, hitting Tanglewood, MASS MoCA, and Bennington in four days.
