2024 Starcraft Travel Trailer
We had an awesome experience renting Mikayla’s camper and would absolutely rent it again! From the first moment we spoke, to picking it up and dropping it off, everything was simple and stress-free. Hitching and unhitching were easy, and Mikayla had everything we needed for full hookups—sewer line, water hoses, water filter, and even a drill for the leveling jacks. What really impressed us was how well stocked the camper was. Plates, silverware, cooking supplies, sugar, cooking spray, beds with full linens, and towels—you could tell a lot of thought went into making sure guests had everything they needed. There was plenty of room for our family of four, and we had a fantastic camping trip. If you’re considering renting this camper, I highly recommend it!

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mountain%20Dale,%20New%20YorkDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Mountain Dale, NY?
Good news for first-time renters: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Mountain Dale, NY. New York State does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for the motorhomes and travel trailers listed on RVezy, including Class A, Class B campervans, and Class C rigs. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally 25 or older and must complete a quick ID verification through the platform. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association before you fly in. Most travelers are pleasantly surprised at how easy this part is, leaving you free to focus on your Catskills route.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat kind of protection comes with my Mountain Dale RV rental?
You're covered from the moment you book. Every RV rental in Mountain Dale, NY through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Route 17 toward the Catskills with confidence. The protection plan helps cover most physical damage to the vehicle, and during checkout you choose the coverage level that fits your trip, not the host. It provides meaningful financial protection if something unexpected happens between Mountain Dale and your campsite. Pro tip: snap a quick walkaround video at pickup. It's the easiest way to keep everything smooth and stress-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Catskills RV trip?
Plans change, and RVezy is built to handle that. RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy, and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in your Mountain Dale RV rental with confidence. Refunds beyond the grace window depend on how close you are to your start date and any extraordinary circumstances. The cancellation policy is handled platform-wide and isn't displayed on individual listings. If your host cancels, RVezy will refund you or provide credits to help you rebook. Pro tip: book early to grab the best rigs for Bethel Woods concert weekends, knowing the grace period has your back if life shifts.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Mountain Dale?
Absolutely, your pup is welcome. Plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental Mountain Dale options, and you can filter directly for Pet-Friendly listings on RVezy before you book. Sullivan County is a dream for dog owners: the O&W Rails to Trails trailhead right in Mountain Dale is leashed-dog friendly, and Minnewaska State Park Preserve about 30 minutes east allows dogs on most carriage roads. Mountaindale Campground and nearby Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres both welcome leashed pets. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee, and ask about onboard tie-downs so your dog rides safely on the way up Route 52.
parks.ny.gov/parks/minnewaskaCan the RV be delivered to my campsite or rental house?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to start a Catskills trip. Many RVezy hosts offer RV delivery Mountain Dale renters love, meaning the RV is driven to your destination, leveled, hooked up, and walked through with you before the host hands over the keys. That's a game-changer if you're nervous about towing on the curves of County Route 58 or backing into a wooded site at Mountaindale Campground. Common delivery spots include Skyway Camping Resort, Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Birchwood Acres, and private cabins around Lake Louise Marie. Use the Delivery filter when searching listings, then message the host to confirm mileage fees, which usually run a flat rate plus per-mile beyond a set radius.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mountain%20Dale,%20New%20YorkHow far can I drive on a Mountain Dale RV trip?
You've got serious range from Mountain Dale, and many hosts offer generous or even unlimited mileage packages. From the hamlet you're about 95 miles (roughly 2 hours) from midtown Manhattan, 12 miles to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, around 30 minutes to Minnewaska State Park Preserve, about 90 minutes to the Upper Delaware River at Narrowsburg, and around 90 minutes to Woodstock. A typical Catskills loop runs 250 to 400 miles total. Look for listings tagged with RV rental with unlimited mileage if you're planning a wider New York RV trip. Pro tip: filter by mileage allowance and message the host with your rough route, they'll often bundle in extra miles for multi-day bookings.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mountain%20Dale,%20New%20YorkWhere are the best campgrounds near Mountain Dale, NY?
You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Mountain Dale start right in town at Mountaindale Park & Campground, with full-hookup sites, a pool, and a stocked lake. Skyway Camping Resort, a short drive away, offers paved pull-throughs that work well for bigger rigs. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres in Woodridge is a family favorite, while Catskill RV Resort caters to 50-amp travelers. For something more rustic, the New York State DEC campground at Beaverkill is about 45 minutes north. Pro tip: book Mountaindale Park by April for July and August weekends, those Bethel Woods concert dates fill up fast.
dec.ny.gov/things-to-do/campingWhen is the best time to visit Mountain Dale in an RV?
Mountain Dale shines from late May through mid-October, with three very different sweet spots. Summer (June to August) brings highs in the upper 70s to low 80s°F, perfect swimming weather and prime Bethel Woods concert season. September and the first half of October are arguably the magic window, with cool 60s°F days, low humidity, and the famously fiery Catskills foliage that draws leaf-peepers from across the Northeast. Spring (May) is quiet and lush as the trout streams open. Most local campgrounds operate May through September, so plan your RV camping Mountain Dale trip in that window. Pro tip: book a Columbus Day weekend rental early, foliage demand spikes statewide.
weather.gov/aly/I've never rented an RV before. Will I actually feel confident driving one?
You'll be ready. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the dashboard, slide-outs, leveling, propane, holding tanks, and the generator before you ever pull onto Old Route 17. First time renting an RV in the Catskills? Start with a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer, both drive a lot like a big van, and stick to the wider state roads like NY-52 and US-209 on day one. Hosts answer messages quickly if questions pop up mid-trip, and RVezy support is available around the clock. Pro tip: do a slow loop through the Mountaindale Park parking area before heading out to get a feel for the turning radius.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002342593-Renting-an-RVWhat if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You're never on your own out there. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing if something serious happens between Mountain Dale and your campsite. One call connects you with help, whether you're parked at Skyway Camping Resort or pulled over along I-86 (formerly NY-17). Your host is also a quick message away and usually knows the closest service shops in Monticello or Liberty, both within about 15 minutes of the hamlet. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and the host's number in your phone before you leave the driveway, cell service can get patchy in the deeper Catskill hollows.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best road trips from Mountain Dale, NY?
Some of the Northeast's most scenic drives launch right from here. A classic RV road trip from Mountain Dale heads 12 miles south to Bethel Woods and the original Woodstock site, then loops west along NY-17B to the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway at Narrowsburg (about 45 miles). Head north on US-209 and you'll reach Minnewaska State Park Preserve in about 30 minutes and Woodstock in roughly 90 minutes. Cross-state adventurers can reach the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania in about 90 minutes, and Niagara Falls is a 6-hour push if you want a multi-day loop. Travel into Canada may be possible with host approval and insurance review, but Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals.
nps.gov/upde/index.htmWhat should I budget for fuel on a Mountain Dale RV trip?
Fuel is easier on the wallet here than most travelers expect. Sullivan County gas prices typically track close to the New York state average, with stations in Wurtsboro, Monticello, and Liberty (all within about 15 minutes of Mountain Dale) usually a bit cheaper than the Thruway plazas. Plan on 8 to 10 MPG for a Class C motorhome, 6 to 8 MPG for a Class A, and 12 to 18 MPG when towing a travel trailer with a truck. A typical 300-mile Catskills loop burns roughly 30 to 40 gallons. Pro tip: top off in Wurtsboro before heading west on NY-17B toward Bethel Woods, prices climb as you get deeper into the rural hollows.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground in the Mountain Dale area?
Earlier than you think, especially for summer. New York State DEC campgrounds like Beaverkill and Mongaup Pond open reservations 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and the popular foliage and July 4 weekends sell out within days. Private parks near Mountain Dale, including Mountaindale Park, Skyway Camping Resort, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Birchwood Acres, take direct bookings and typically fill 2 to 4 months ahead for summer weekends. Midweek stays are easier to grab even a week out. Pro tip: if Bethel Woods has a major concert on your dates, book your site the moment tickets go on sale, locals know that's when Sullivan County campsites disappear fast.
dec.ny.gov/things-to-do/camping/reservationsWhat are the driving conditions like around Mountain Dale?
Driving here is genuinely pleasant once you know the terrain. I-86 (formerly NY-17) is the main artery, a four-lane highway that takes you right past the Mountain Dale exit and west toward Bethel Woods. County Route 58 and NY-52 are the local two-lane roads, with gentle curves and grades thanks to Mountain Dale's modest elevation, very manageable in any RV. Watch for white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk, and slow down on the older bridges around the Neversink River. Winter (December through March) brings real snow and occasional ice, so a snow-season RV trip is best handled by experienced drivers. Pro tip: avoid the Friday afternoon NYC-bound traffic on I-86 by leaving Mountain Dale before noon or after 7 p.m.
511ny.org/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Mountain Dale?
You'll feel right at home. Most local campgrounds offer full hookups, meaning 30 or 50-amp electric, fresh water, and sewer right at your site, including Mountaindale Park, Skyway Camping Resort, and Catskill RV Resort. You'll typically find hot showers, flush toilets, a dump station, laundry, a camp store, a pool, and Wi-Fi at the main lodge. Fresh water fill stations are standard, and most parks let you top off on arrival. State DEC campgrounds are more rustic with electric-only or no hookups, but they have dump stations on site. Pro tip: ask your host whether the rig already has fresh water loaded, it saves you 20 minutes at check-in and lets you head straight to the campfire.
dec.ny.gov/things-to-do/campingWhat's actually inside a typical Mountain Dale RV rental?
More than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental Mountain Dale guests book comes fully equipped: a queen or king bed in the main bedroom, a convertible dinette and sofa for extra sleepers, a full kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and sink, plus a bathroom with shower and toilet. Most rigs include air conditioning, a furnace for chilly Catskills nights, a TV, a propane generator, and seatbelts at every traveling seat. Many hosts toss in linens, cookware, outdoor chairs, and a starter kit of tank chemicals. Wi-Fi varies, so plan on using your phone hotspot in remote spots. Pro tip: check the listing photos for a roof-mounted awning, it's a Catskills evening essential when the mosquitoes come out near the Neversink.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mountain%20Dale,%20New%20YorkWhat add-ons and options should I look for when I rent an RV in Mountain Dale?
The right add-ons make a Catskills trip effortless. When you rent an RV in Mountain Dale, popular host extras include delivery and setup (often a flat fee plus per-mile from the host's base), generator hours, bike racks for the O&W Rails to Trails, kayak or paddleboard rentals, propane refills, and linen and kitchen packages. Mileage policies vary, some hosts offer 100 free miles per night while others provide unlimited miles, so check the listing details. Pickup is usually at the host's location in or near Sullivan County, with most hosts flexible on a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. window. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a generator add-on if you're heading to a no-hookup DEC site.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mountain%20Dale,%20New%20YorkHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and transparent. When you book your RV rental in Mountain Dale, NY, RVezy charges your card securely through the platform, no cash or off-platform transfers needed. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) and released back to you within a few days of a smooth return. The deposit covers things like excess cleaning, missing items, or minor damage not handled by the protection plan. To avoid any issues, take timestamped photos and a walkaround video at pickup and return, fill the fuel and propane to the level shown on the contract, and empty the tanks at the campground dump station. Pro tip: keep all communication inside RVezy messaging, it's your paper trail if anything ever needs review.
