2013 Travel Trailer
Renting from Anthony was great!! He was very prompt, explained everything with the camper very thoroughly and was incredibly nice and accommodating. The camper was very clean, well-kept and in great condition! The generator is basically brand new and very easy to use; starts with the push of a button! Bathroom was clean and worked! Whenever we had a question, we received timely responses from Anthony and he was very open to help, it was never a bother. If we ever have a need for a camper again, we will ABSOLUTELY reach out to Anthony again, I highly recommend using this camper!! 5 stars for sure!!

Anthony was very helpful. He met me at the campground, set up the camper, walked me through everything, and showed me the ins and outs of his camper. I told him I wanted to leave early on the day of departure. He said no problem; just leave the key in it, and he’d pick it up later the day I left. He made the entire experience so much easier for us. Thanks a lot, buddy.

On RVezy, travel trailers in the Chippewa County area typically run $100 to $150 per night, while Class C motorhome rentals around Boyd usually land between $175 and $250 per night. Hosts set their own pricing, so you'll often spot cheap RV rental Boyd deals midweek, in early May, or after Labor Day once the Ringelspiel Days crowds clear out. Pro tip: filter by Delivery and pick a host close to Highway 29 to keep mileage fees low and your trip budget happy.
travelwisconsin.com/northwest/chippewa-county/boydDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Boyd, Wisconsin?
Good news for first-timers: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Boyd. Wisconsin does not require a CDL for standard personal motorhomes used recreationally. On RVezy, approved drivers must generally be 25 or older with a valid license from any US state or Canadian province, plus a quick ID confirmation through the platform. International visitors should bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from their home auto association. That is the entire checklist, no endorsements, no road tests, just pick up your keys and start your Wisconsin RV trip.

help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Boyd RV rental?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy, not the host, sets the cancellation policy, and it includes a grace period right after you book so you can lock in summer dates or fall color weekends without second-guessing. Refund eligibility after that depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. The full details live on the RVezy Help Center and are applied consistently across every listing in Boyd. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit. Go ahead and reserve that Lake Wissota site, you have flexibility on your side.

Yes, RV delivery in Boyd is a popular option and a lifesaver for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts in the Chippewa Valley will drive the RV right to your campsite at Lake Wissota State Park, O'Neil Creek Campground, or your driveway in the Village of Boyd, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Filter by Delivery on RVezy and message the host to confirm distance fees. It turns a campervan rental in Boyd into a true plug-and-play vacation, no backing into a wooded site required.

dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/lakewissota/recreation/campingWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Boyd?
Late May through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping Boyd. June, July, and August deliver warm highs of 75 to 82°F (24 to 28°C) and long evenings perfect for campfires at Lake Wissota. September and early October are the local insider's pick, crisp 55 to 70°F days, vibrant maple and oak foliage along the Chippewa River, and far fewer mosquitoes. Spring (April to mid-May) is quiet and affordable but expect lows in the 30s. Winter trips are possible too, since Lake Wissota State Park stays open year-round for ice fishing and cross-country skiing, just book a winterized RV with a furnace and you'll have a one-of-a-kind adventure.
weather.gov/mpx/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Boyd?
You're going to do great. First time renting an RV in Boyd is genuinely easier than most people expect, and the local roads help. State Highway 29 is a wide, flat four-lane that runs right past the village, with low traffic compared to anywhere near Milwaukee or the Twin Cities. Every RVezy host gives a hands-on orientation at pickup covering propane, slide-outs, leveling, and waste tanks, plus they're a text away during your trip. If you'd rather skip towing or driving entirely, pick a host who offers delivery to your campsite. The country roads around Chippewa County are forgiving practice ground for a brand-new RVer.
wisconsindot.gov/Pages/travel/road/default.aspxWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road near Boyd?
Help is one phone call away, 24/7. Every Boyd RV rental booked on RVezy includes round-the-clock roadside assistance with the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. Whether you are parked in the village, on a county road outside Cadott, or rolling toward Eau Claire on Highway 29, dispatch can find you. Your host is also a quick text away for RV-specific questions like resetting the generator or refilling propane. RVezy support backs up every trip from booking through return. Save both numbers in your phone at pickup and you are set for a worry-free Wisconsin adventure.

Cross-border road trips are part of the fun. Most RVezy hosts in Boyd are happy to let you cross into Minnesota (St. Paul is just 100 miles southwest), Michigan's Upper Peninsula, or Illinois. Popular routes from Boyd include the North Shore of Lake Superior and the Door Peninsula. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host, so message the owner directly from the listing before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Confirm your route during booking and you are cleared to roll.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?
Plan smart and fuel is very manageable. Class C motorhomes around Boyd average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 mpg), and campervan rentals in Boyd often hit 16 to 20 mpg. Wisconsin gas prices generally run slightly below the national average, and there's a Kwik Trip in nearby Cadott (5 miles west on Highway 29) that's perfect for filling up before heading to Lake Wissota. For a long weekend covering 250 miles in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $120 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Boyd or Chippewa Falls, not at state park gateway towns where prices spike.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Boyd?
Book early and you'll get exactly the site you want. Wisconsin State Parks like Lake Wissota and Brunet Island accept reservations up to 11 months in advance through the Wisconsin DNR reservation system (1-888-947-2757 or online), and prime summer weekends, especially July 4th and Labor Day, sell out within hours of opening. For September fall-color weekends, aim to book by March. Private parks like O'Neil Creek and Eagle Ridge are slightly more relaxed but still fill up by May for peak weekends. A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker is required, $8 daily for in-state plates, $11 for out-of-state. Grab one online before you arrive to skip the line.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/reservationsWhat are the driving conditions like around Boyd?
Driving around Boyd is about as RV-friendly as Wisconsin gets. State Highway 29 is a flat, four-lane divided highway with generous shoulders, perfect for first-time motorhome rental Boyd drivers. County roads are paved, lightly trafficked, and roll gently through farmland. Watch for deer, especially at dawn and dusk in October and November, and slow down for the occasional Amish horse-and-buggy on roads east of town. Winter brings real snow and ice from December through March, so if you're booking a cold-weather RV trip, ask your host about snow tires and pack extra propane. The village also restricts overnight street parking November 15 to April 1 from 3 to 6 a.m.

For dumping and filling water mid-trip, the state park's dump station is open to overnight guests, and a Kwik Trip in Chippewa Falls (15 miles west) sells propane. Firewood is sold on-site at $7 a bundle, or grab it at the gas station for less.

travelwisconsin.com/article/camping/rving-wisconsinHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and fully handled by RVezy, no cash, no awkward exchanges with the host. You pay securely through the platform when you book, and your card information stays protected. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment before the trip starts, and it is released after the RV is returned in the same condition you got it. To avoid any issues, take date-stamped photos at pickup and return, follow the host's mileage and generator-hour policies, and empty waste tanks before drop-off if your host requires it. RVezy support is available before, during, and after every Boyd RV trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksHow should I prepare for cold-weather RV camping near Boyd?
Winter and shoulder-season RV trips around Boyd can be magical with the right prep. Lake Wissota State Park stays open year-round for ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing on 8 miles of groomed trails. Look for RVezy listings marked with furnace, heated holding tanks, and shore-power-ready features, then filter by hosts comfortable with cold-weather rentals. Plan to use the campground's electric hookups (58 sites at Lake Wissota), pack RV antifreeze for the waste system if temps drop below 20°F, and bring extra propane. Boyd winters can hit lows of -10°F in January, so dress in layers and check 511wi.gov for road conditions. The frozen Chippewa River sunsets alone are worth the trip.
