The RV was extremely nice. It included 2 massage recliner chairs, a kitchen that had all the cooking utensils along with paper plates, plastic silverware and cups, paper towels, and the bathroom was stocked towels, toilet paper and hand soap so you don’t worry about packing any. Oren, the owner, was extremely helpful. This was my first time staying in and renting an RV, I had a lot of questions before and during my trip. Oren always responded to my texts in a timely manner helping me solve the problem. He also got me in contact with a man who rents out generators and brought it to the campsite for me free of charge saving me time on making a pitstop. Highly recommend using Oren’s RV if you need an RV in the Chippewa Falls area.

Neat layout! Slept us all comfortably. Only thing I was picky about was that it wasn't very clean and things weren't in the best condition. Overall though, everything worked as it should!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Eau Claire, WI

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Eau Claire?

RV rental in Eau Claire is one of the most affordable ways to explore the Chippewa Valley, with most travel trailers starting around $90 to $140 per night and Class C motorhomes typically running $180 to $275 per night. Pop-up campers and smaller trailers can dip under $80 a night, making cheap RV rental Eau Claire very doable if you book midweek or in the shoulder months of late April, May, or September. Add roughly $28 per night for an electric site at Lake Wissota State Park to estimate total cost. Pro tip: Wisconsin's gas tax adjusts every April 1, and Kwik Trip stations across Eau Claire usually beat the local average by several cents per gallon, so plan fill-ups there to stretch your trip budget.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Eau Claire, Wisconsin?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Eau Claire for nearly every motorhome on RVezy. Wisconsin does not require a Commercial Driver License (CDL) for personal-use recreational vehicles, regardless of length, and almost no rental on the platform comes close to anything unusual. To rent on RVezy you'll generally need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and RVezy verifies your identification right inside the booking flow, so there's no extra trip to the DMV. Visiting from outside the United States? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license and you're set to roll out toward Lake Wissota.

What protection and roadside help do I get when I rent an RV in Eau Claire?

Every RV rental in Eau Claire booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Interstate 94 toward the Twin Cities or Highway 53 north to the Northwoods knowing help is one phone call away. You choose your protection level at checkout (not the host), and the plan covers physical damage to the RV up to the plan limits. If you get a flat near Lake Wissota State Park or a battery dies at Stoney Creek RV Resort in Osseo, roadside dispatch handles tows, jump-starts, lockouts, and tire changes, day or night. It's meaningful financial peace of mind for first-time renters.

What if I need to cancel my Eau Claire RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every reservation comes with a grace period for a full refund right after you book. That means you can lock in a peak July weekend at Lake Wissota State Park before sites fill up and still have breathing room to adjust. Refund amounts after the grace period depend on how far out your trip is. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will help you rebook or provide a refund or travel credit. You'll find the full policy details on the RVezy Help Center, and the support team is available before, during, and after your Eau Claire RV trip.

Late September and early October bring stunning fall color along the Chippewa River with cooler nights ideal for campfires. Pro tip: book shoulder season (mid-May or post-Labor Day) and you'll find lower nightly rates, easier campsite reservations at Lake Wissota State Park, and far fewer mosquitoes than in June.

I have never driven an RV before, what should I expect?

You're going to do great, first time renting an RV in Eau Claire is easier than most people expect, especially with a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer. Eau Claire's grid layout and wide roads make practice runs simple, and Highway 53 north toward Chippewa Falls is a forgiving stretch to get comfortable. Pro tip: pick a travel trailer or Class C under 28 feet for your first trip, message the host with any questions before booking, and request delivery to Lake Wissota State Park so your first drive is from the campsite, not the city.

Interstate travel is allowed on every RVezy rental. Cross-border trips into Canada are possible with many hosts depending on insurance, just message the host directly from the listing page to confirm before booking and allow time to receive the proper paperwork. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), travel trailers pulled by a truck average 10 to 14 MPG, and campervans can hit 18 to 22 MPG. Wisconsin's regular gas tax sits around 32 cents per gallon and prices in the Eau Claire area typically run slightly below the state average. A 300-mile round trip to Door County in a Class C burning 10 MPG would use about 30 gallons. Pro tip: Kwik Trip stations across Eau Claire and along Highway 53 consistently price 3 to 8 cents below the local average, and filling up Monday or Tuesday usually saves you a few cents per gallon too.

Coon Fork County Park and Harstad Park book through Eau Claire County Parks, while private parks like Stoney Creek RV Resort take reservations directly. Pro tip: if your dates are flexible, midweek Tuesday through Thursday stays at Lake Wissota are dramatically easier to grab, and the electric campsite fee is around $28 per night for Wisconsin residents.

What are driving conditions like around Eau Claire?

Driving in Eau Claire is refreshingly relaxed compared to most metros. Interstate 94 runs right through town with wide lanes and clear signage toward the Twin Cities or Madison, and Highway 53 north to Chippewa Falls is a smooth four-lane route. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk on rural county roads (Wisconsin has one of the highest deer-vehicle collision rates in the U.S.), and plan for snow and ice November through March, when alternate-side parking rules apply on every Eau Claire city street. Pro tip: avoid downtown's Water Street area and the UW-Eau Claire campus bridges in a big rig, opt for RV delivery to your campground instead and let your host handle the tighter turns.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and handled entirely through RVezy, no cash, no checks, no awkward driveway exchanges. You pay your booking total online with a credit or debit card when you reserve, and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized (not charged) on your card shortly before pickup. The deposit is separate from your booking payment and covers things like excessive cleaning, missing equipment, or minor damage outside the protection plan, and it's released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. Pro tip: take a quick video walkthrough of the RV inside and out at both pickup and return, including holding tanks and propane levels, that 60-second clip is the easiest way to keep your full deposit.
