2023 Forest River Travel Trailer
This was my first time renting a trailer to camp in. I couldn’t have picked a better host! He was extremely communicative and though we had no problems I know if I did we would have been taken care of right away! I can wait to rent this trailer again. The delivery and set up was also done by them and it went smooth and quick! Highly recommend!

2024 Winnebago Class C
This Winnebago was awesome and turned out to be perfect for our trip! It was easy to handle on the road, easy to setup, and so nice and comfortable inside. We had four adults, one toddler, and a small dog for a weekend trip and had plenty of room for everyone. The RV is packed with everything you might need, with plenty of space for your own belongings. Joe was so helpful and was available when we had to trouble shoot the power (total user error). This was our first time RV dry camping and we were setup with every thing we needed. Great experience, we hope to rent this RV again in the future!

My wife and I have had an RV for nearly 50 years. We are looking to downsize to a drivable RV similar to what Marco and Gina have. Our experience with them has been outstanding. Their RV was clean and neat when we arrived. Marco was very helpful in explaining their unit to us. Other than food and our clothes everything else was supplied. I was shocked at how much storage room there was not only inside but outside. If you are thinking of renting an RV, I would not hesitate to contact Marco and Gina for their RV.

Horsetail Fall

Picture a thin ribbon of water on El Capitan catching the last light so it looks like liquid fire. That is Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park, a winter phenomenon that draws photographers and dreamers when skies stay clear and the fall is running. Arriving in your own RV means a warm kitchen, your own bed, and a flexible base for cold evenings after the walk back from the viewing area. Let the valley cliffs and the Merced River frame a trip you will talk about for years.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Mi-Wuk Village, CA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Mi-Wuk Village, CA?

RV rental in Mi-Wuk Village is reasonably priced for a gateway-to-Yosemite location. On RVezy, you will typically find travel trailers from around $95 to $175 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $295, and larger Class A coaches from $250 to $400. Add nightly campground fees (about $30 to $40 at Stanislaus National Forest sites like Pinecrest, and $60 to $90 at full-hookup parks like Sugar Pine RV Park) plus fuel, and a family of four can plan a long weekend for roughly $800 to $1,400 all in. For a cheap RV rental in Mi-Wuk Village, book midweek in May or late September when host pricing dips and Highway 108 traffic is light. Tip: filter by Instant Book to lock in the best-priced rigs before summer Yosemite demand hits.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Mi-Wuk Village?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Mi-Wuk Village. California does not require a special endorsement or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for motorhomes or trailers under 40 feet and within standard weight limits, which covers virtually every RV on RVezy. Approved drivers on RVezy are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and you will confirm your ID through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association before you fly. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the paperwork is, so you can focus on planning the Yosemite portion of your trip.

Is RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included for my Mi-Wuk Village trip?

Yes, every RV rental in Mi-Wuk Village booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head into the Sierra Nevada with peace of mind. Protection plans cover damage to the RV and provide financial protection during your trip, and you (not the host) choose your coverage tier at checkout. Whether you need tire service on Highway 108 toward Sonora Pass or a jump at Pinecrest Lake, one call to RVezy support gets help dispatched. That built-in safety net is a big reason first-time renters feel confident booking their first motorhome rental in Mi-Wuk Village.

What is the cancellation policy if my Mi-Wuk Village plans change?

Booking is low-risk. RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy, and you have a short grace period right after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund. After that window, refund eligibility depends on how far in advance of your trip you cancel. You will see the exact terms during checkout and in your booking confirmation. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or helps you rebook. If wildfire smoke, snow over Sonora Pass, or another disruption affects your trip near Yosemite or the Stanislaus National Forest, contact RVezy support and the team will help you figure out next steps.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Mi-Wuk Village?

Absolutely, pets are welcome on plenty of trips. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see hosts offering pet-friendly RV rental Mi-Wuk Village options, and message the host before booking if you have a large breed or multiple pets. Once you're up here, the dog-friendly options are fantastic: leashed dogs are allowed at Pinecrest Lake's day-use beach and on most trails in the Stanislaus National Forest, plus the Shadow of the Miwok Trail right near the village. Yosemite National Park is stricter (dogs only on paved roads and a few specific paths), but nearby Stanislaus trails more than make up for it. Pack a tie-out, extra water, and waste bags for a smooth adventure.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite near Mi-Wuk Village?

Yes, RV delivery in Mi-Wuk Village is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather not drive Highway 108's curves. Many local hosts will deliver and set up the RV at Pinecrest Campground, Sugar Pine RV Park, a Stanislaus National Forest site, or a private cabin driveway in the village. They will level the rig, hook up water and electric where available, prime the propane, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see which hosts offer it, and confirm the delivery fee with the host before booking. It is the easiest way to enjoy a Mi-Wuk Village RV trip without towing a thing.

How far can I drive from Mi-Wuk Village, and is RV rental with unlimited mileage available?

You're perfectly positioned for an epic RV road trip from Mi-Wuk Village. Yosemite Valley's Big Oak Flat entrance is just 55 miles south, Pinecrest Lake is 13 miles up Highway 108, Calaveras Big Trees State Park is about 35 miles north, Lake Tahoe sits roughly 130 miles northeast, and San Francisco is around 160 miles west. Many RVezy hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is great for longer Sierra loops. The mileage policy is listed clearly on every listing page, so you can compare before booking. Pro tip: if you're planning the full Yosemite plus Tahoe loop, filter for unlimited mileage upfront to save on overage fees.

Where are the best campgrounds near Mi-Wuk Village for RV camping?

You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping near Mi-Wuk Village. Pinecrest Campground (about 13 miles up Highway 108) is the local favorite, with sites along a swimmable alpine lake and big-rig access. Sugar Pine RV Park, right in the village, offers year-round full hookups and is the only true full-service park within walking distance of restaurants. Fraser Flat Campground sits along the South Fork Stanislaus River and is great for fishing. Hull Creek Campground is a quieter Forest Service option at around 5,600 feet. For an upscale stay closer to Yosemite, Yosemite Pines RV Resort in Groveland is about 35 miles south. Reserve Pinecrest up to six months ahead on Recreation.gov, especially for July weekends.

When is the best time to visit Mi-Wuk Village in an RV?

Late May through early October is the sweet spot for a Mi-Wuk Village RV trip, with daytime highs in the 70s to mid-80s and crisp 45 to 55 degree nights at 3,700 feet elevation, perfect for sleeping with the windows open. July and August are peak Yosemite season (book early), while June and September deliver fewer crowds at Pinecrest Lake and lower nightly RV rates. Spring (April to mid-May) brings wildflowers and roaring waterfalls but expect rain and lingering snow above 5,000 feet. Fall foliage along Highway 108 in mid-October is a hidden gem. Winter trips are possible too: Sugar Pine RV Park stays open year-round, and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is just 17 miles up the road.

I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving in Mi-Wuk Village?

You've got this, and first time renting an RV here is easier than most people expect. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, propane, water, generator, and dump procedures, so you're never left guessing. Highway 108 from Sonora up to Mi-Wuk Village is a well-paved, two-lane mountain road with gradual grades and pullouts, much friendlier than Tioga Pass or Sonora Pass further east. If you'd rather skip mountain driving altogether, choose a host who offers delivery, and your rig will be parked, leveled, and ready when you arrive. Pro tip: start with a Class C or travel trailer under 25 feet for your first trip, and ask your host to demonstrate backing into your specific campsite during the walkthrough.

What happens if I break down on Highway 108 or near Yosemite?

You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of your renter protection plan, so a flat tire on Highway 108, a dead battery at Pinecrest, or a propane issue near Yosemite's Big Oak Flat entrance is just a phone call away. The dispatcher can send tire service, mechanical help, fuel delivery, or a tow to the nearest qualified shop in Sonora or Oakdale. Cell service is spotty between Mi-Wuk Village and Sonora Pass, so download offline maps and save the roadside assistance number in your phone before you head out. Your host is also a direct resource for quirks specific to their RV, and most issues get resolved quickly so you can get back to enjoying the Stanislaus National Forest.

Can I take my Mi-Wuk Village RV rental to Nevada or across state lines?

Yes, interstate travel is allowed and popular for an RV road trip from Mi-Wuk Village. Classic loops head into Nevada via Lake Tahoe (about 130 miles to South Lake Tahoe) or over Sonora Pass to Bridgeport and Mono Lake when Highway 108 is open in summer. Most RVezy hosts welcome multi-state itineraries, just confirm your route with the host before booking so they can adjust mileage and any travel notes. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Cross-border trips to Canada may be possible with host and RVezy approval. For a quintessential Sierra loop, try Yosemite to Mono Lake to Tahoe, roughly 400 miles of jaw-dropping scenery.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Plan smart and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Class B campervans get about 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 mpg, Class A coaches around 6 to 10 mpg, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically runs 10 to 14 mpg. Gas in the Sonora area generally runs $0.20 to $0.40 below San Francisco prices, and the closest stations to Mi-Wuk Village are in Sonora (15 miles down Highway 108) and at Twain Harte. Top off before heading up to Pinecrest or into Yosemite because prices climb at higher elevations and inside the park. For a typical 4-day, 400-mile Mi-Wuk Village RV trip in a Class C, budget about $180 to $250 for fuel.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Mi-Wuk Village?

Book early and you'll get the gems. For Pinecrest Campground and other Stanislaus National Forest sites, reservations open exactly six months in advance on Recreation.gov, and summer weekends (especially July 4th and Labor Day) sell out within minutes of release. Set a calendar reminder, create your Recreation.gov account ahead of time, and have backup sites ready. For Yosemite National Park campgrounds, reservations open five months ahead on the 15th of each month at 7 a.m. Pacific. Private parks like Sugar Pine RV Park and Yosemite Pines RV Resort book through their own websites and usually have 2 to 6 weeks of lead time. Pro tip: midweek (Sunday to Thursday) almost always has openings, even in peak July.
recreation.gov/

What are the local driving conditions like around Mi-Wuk Village?

Driving here is more manageable than the mountain setting suggests. Highway 108 from Sonora to Mi-Wuk Village is a paved two-lane road with steady 5 to 6 percent grades, regular pullouts, and good shoulders, ideal for RVs up to 40 feet. East of Strawberry the road narrows and climbs sharply toward Sonora Pass (9,624 feet), which is closed to trailers and large motorhomes; that section also closes entirely from roughly November through May due to snow. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, especially between Twain Harte and Long Barn. In winter, carry chains November through April (it's California law on posted routes), and check Caltrans QuickMap before heading up. Most summer drives are smooth, scenic, and surprisingly relaxing.
quickmap.dot.ca.gov/

What amenities will I find at campgrounds around Mi-Wuk Village?

Expect a healthy mix of rustic and full-service. Stanislaus National Forest campgrounds like Pinecrest, Fraser Flat, and Hull Creek offer picnic tables, fire rings, vault or flush toilets, and potable water spigots, but no individual site hookups. For dumping and freshwater fill, head to Pinecrest's dump station or Sugar Pine RV Park in the village. Sugar Pine RV Park and Yosemite Pines RV Resort offer full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electric, sewer), plus laundry and showers. Cell service is patchy: Verizon works in parts of the village and at Pinecrest, while AT&T and T-Mobile are spotty east of town. Tip: fill your freshwater tank before leaving the village to make boondocking in the national forest a breeze.
fs.usda.gov/r5/stanislaus/recreation/camping-cabins

What features and amenities come with most Mi-Wuk Village RV rentals?

You will be impressed by how well-equipped these rigs are. Most RVezy motorhomes and trailers in the Mi-Wuk Village area sleep 4 to 8, with a queen bed, convertible dinette, kitchen with three-burner stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet. Air conditioning, propane furnace, and a 12-volt house battery are standard, and many include a generator (essential for boondocking in Stanislaus National Forest), TV, Bluetooth stereo, and outdoor awning. WiFi is usually a personal hotspot the host adds on; don't count on campground WiFi at Pinecrest. Seatbelts are provided for the rated number of travelers. Every campervan rental Mi-Wuk Village listing shows exactly what's included, so you can match the rig to your trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mi-Wuk%20Village%2C%20California

What add-ons and pickup options are typical for Mi-Wuk Village RV rentals?

You can customize your trip easily. Popular add-ons on RVezy listings around Mi-Wuk Village include camping chairs and table packs, bedding and linen kits, kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, paddleboards, kids' bedding, and pet packages. Pickup options vary by host: some have you collect the RV from their home in Sonora, Twain Harte, or Tuolumne, while others deliver right to your campground or cabin. Mileage policies typically range from 100 to 200 free miles per night, with overage fees per mile, and some hosts offer RV rental with unlimited mileage. Generator hours, propane top-off, and dump or clean services are often offered as flat-fee add-ons. Check each listing for specifics and message the host with questions before you book.

How does the security deposit and payment work when I rent an RV in Mi-Wuk Village?

Payment is straightforward and secure through the RVezy platform, so you never hand cash to a host. You pay your rental total (nightly rate, fees, taxes, protection plan, and any add-ons) by credit or debit card at booking. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup and is only charged if there is a claim. To keep things smooth, do a thorough walkaround with the host at pickup and dropoff, take date-stamped photos, return the RV with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and dump the tanks if required. Once the host confirms everything is in order after dropoff, the deposit hold is released.

Can I rent an RV in Mi-Wuk Village in winter for a Dodge Ridge ski trip?

Yes, and it's a fantastic way to ski. Several RVezy hosts in the Sonora and Twain Harte area keep their rigs available year-round and equip them for cold weather with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, propane furnaces, and shore-power-ready setups. Sugar Pine RV Park stays open all year with full hookups just minutes from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort (17 miles up Highway 108), so you can plug in, run the heat, and wake up to fresh powder. Pack tire chains (legally required on posted Sierra routes November through April), book a 4-season RV, and ask your host about winterization specifics during the walkthrough. Many first-time winter renters say it's their favorite trip of the year.
