2016 Thor Motor Coach Class C
Marco and Gina's RV was perfect for our Labor Day family camping trip. Marco gave an extremely thorough tour of the RV to show all the impressive features and make sure we knew how to operate everything from the canopy, generator, heater, etc. The RV was more stocked with supplies than expected (bedding, silverware, etc) so we didn't need to pack as much. Though I was a bit nervous to drive something that large on the curvy campground roads, Marco had me drive around the neighborhood first to make sure I got a feel for the handling. Will definitely contact them again next Labor Day.

2023 Winnebago Class B
Our experience with Heather's van was excellent! She communicated clearly, got our questions answered pre-trip, and gave us a thorough run down of how the van works. The van had everything we needed - from camp chairs to bedding to towels to dishware! Was easier to drive than expected. Thank you, Heather!

eid.org/recreation/sly-park-recreation-areaCan I have an RV delivered right to my campsite or cabin in Pollock Pines?

Many local RVezy hosts will deliver and set up the RV at campgrounds like Sly Park Recreation Area or nearby RV parks in Camino, so you can arrive with just your bags. After a walkthrough on how everything works, you're ready to relax and enjoy. Use the 'delivery' filter when searching to see which RVs can meet you at your chosen spot, and confirm delivery fees with the host before booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Pollock%20Pines%2C%20CaliforniaAre there RV rentals with unlimited mileage in Pollock Pines?
Yes, some motorhome and trailer rentals in Pollock Pines offer unlimited mileage, while others include a set number of miles per day with a per-mile fee beyond that. This is great for big road trips, whether you're heading to South Lake Tahoe about 50 miles east or exploring Gold Country along Highway 49. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Pollock%20Pines%2C%20CaliforniaWhere can I park my RV overnight in and near Pollock Pines?
Pollock Pines has several great campgrounds for overnight RV stays. Sly Park Recreation Area on Jenkinson Lake is just a few miles from town and offers RV sites with hookups. Ice House, Wrights Lake, and other U.S. Forest Service campgrounds in the Eldorado National Forest provide more rustic sites without hookups. Overnight parking on city streets is generally not allowed, so plan on staying at an official campground, RV park, or dispersed camping area within the national forest. Book early for summer weekends.
fs.usda.gov/eldoradoWhen is the best time for an RV camping trip in Pollock Pines?
The best time for RV camping in Pollock Pines is late spring through mid-fall, roughly May through October, when daytime highs are typically in the 70s to mid-80s F and nights are cool and comfortable. Winter (November to March) brings snow and freezing nights at this elevation, so cold-weather gear and tire chains are needed. For smaller crowds and great scenery, September and early October are excellent, with mild weather and fall color around Sly Park.
weather.gov/sto/Is RV camping in Pollock Pines good for first-timers?
Yes, Pollock Pines is a great spot for first-time RV renters. RVezy hosts provide a full walkthrough at pickup, showing you how to use the kitchen, sleeping area, bathroom, and hookups, so you're never left guessing. Delivery options let you skip driving the RV entirely on your first trip. Highway 50 runs right through town with easy access to Sly Park and Tahoe, making navigation simple. By day two, most first-timers feel right at home in their rental.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002193593-For-rentersWhat happens if I have a breakdown during my Pollock Pines RV trip?
Every RV rental in Pollock Pines booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan. If you get a flat tire on Mormon Emigrant Trail or have a mechanical issue at your campsite, just call the roadside number provided with your booking. Support can arrange towing, tire service, jump-starts, or a local fix so you can get back to enjoying your Sierra adventure with peace of mind.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my RV rental from Pollock Pines across state lines?
Most hosts allow travel across California and into nearby states like Nevada, so a Lake Tahoe (about 50 miles east) or Reno (under 2 hours) trip is very doable. Cross-border travel into Mexico is generally not permitted, and Canada is too far for most rentals. Always message the host with your planned route, including any Highway 49 Gold Country detours, and confirm travel limits before booking so everyone is on the same page.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for gas on an RV road trip from Pollock Pines?
Most motorhome rentals from Pollock Pines average 8 to 12 mpg, while campervans typically get 14 to 20 mpg. With California gas prices generally above the national average, plan roughly $0.30 to $0.45 per mile for fuel in a motorhome. Long mountain grades like Highway 50 toward Tahoe will use more. Fill up in Placerville or South Lake Tahoe where stations are plentiful, and use GasBuddy for real-time prices along your route.
energy.ca.gov/data-reports/energy-almanac/transportation-energy/california-retail-fuel-outlet-annual-reportingHow far in advance should I book campgrounds near Pollock Pines, and how do I reserve them?
In peak summer (June through August), popular sites like Sly Park Recreation Area and U.S. Forest Service campgrounds around Ice House and Wrights Lake fill up months in advance. Reserve Sly Park through the El Dorado Irrigation District site, and book Forest Service sites on Recreation.gov. For last-minute trips, look for first-come, first-served Forest Service sites or shoulder-season midweek stays, which are much easier to snag than summer weekends.
recreation.gov/What driving conditions should I expect in Pollock Pines, especially in winter?
Driving around Pollock Pines is generally straightforward, but Highway 50 and surrounding mountain roads are curvy and can be icy or snowy from November through March. Caltrans frequently requires tire chains on Highway 50 during winter storms, so check QuickMap before traveling. RV delivery is a smart choice for winter visits to avoid driving in snow. The trade-off is quiet forests, snowy scenery, and far fewer crowds in the off-season.
quickmap.dot.ca.gov/What equipment and hookups are usually available at Pollock Pines campgrounds?
Sly Park Recreation Area on Jenkinson Lake offers RV sites with water and electric at select loops, plus a dump station on site. Ice House and Wrights Lake campgrounds in the Eldorado National Forest are dry camping (no hookups), with potable water spigots and vault toilets. RV parks in nearby Camino typically offer full hookups including sewer, plus WiFi and showers. Always check your specific campground's site map for hookup type and dump station locations.
eid.org/recreation/sly-park-recreation-areaWhat features and amenities can I expect in my Pollock Pines RV rental?

Many include A/C, heat, an awning, and a generator or solar for off-grid power. Class A and C motorhomes typically sleep 4 to 8, ideal for families, while campervans are great for couples or solo travelers. Always review the listing for exact amenities like bike racks, outdoor chairs, or kitchen kits, and ask the host about optional add-ons before booking.

Popular add-ons for Pollock Pines RVs include bike racks (handy for the Jenkinson Lake trail), kitchen kits, camp chairs, linens, and generators. Check the add-ons section of each listing on RVezy. For pickup and dropoff, you coordinate directly with your host: meet at their location, arrange a delivery point in town, or have the RV set up at your campground. Hosts walk you through the RV at hand-off so you're confident before heading out.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002193593-For-rentersHow do security deposits and payment work for RV rental in Pollock Pines?
Payment for your RV rental in Pollock Pines is processed securely through RVezy when your booking is confirmed. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment and released after your trip ends without issues. Return the RV clean, with fuel and tanks per the host's instructions, and your deposit is typically released back to your payment method within a few days. This keeps booking simple and your plans flexible.
