2019 Ram Class B
We took LunaSeaout last weekend for a sisters’ road trip—with three dogs—in the middle of a nor’easter, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better van for the adventure. Everything about LunaSea is thoughtfully put together and made the transition into van life incredibly easy, even for first-timers. Everything worked smoothly, it was easy to maintain and keep organized, and the van handled and drove beautifully—even through some pretty rough weather. One of the biggest surprises was how comfortable it was. The captain’s chair and passenger seat were fantastic. We spent hours on the road, and neither one of us ended up with the back, hip, or leg pain you sometimes get after a long drive. The bed was just as impressive—two adults slept comfortably and we both slept great. Between two sisters, three dogs, a nor’easter, long hours of driving, and several days on the road, LunaSea handled it all. It gave us everything we needed without feeling complicated or overwhelming. It was comfortable, reliable, easy to drive, easy to live in, and made our trip that much more memorable. I would absolutely rent LunaSea again and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about trying van life or planning a road trip. Five stars from us—and probably five paws from the dogs, too. 🐾

🌄 Our First RV Adventure—10 Days of Fun & Freedom! - This was our very first RV vacation, and while we were a little hesitant at first, Bill made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. He was incredibly helpful—available before, during, and even after our trip to answer questions and offer support. His thorough walkthrough before we hit the road gave us confidence, especially with tips on what to do in different situations. We took the RV for 10 days from South Florida to the mountains of Maryland, stopping at six different campgrounds and even plugging in at my sister’s and in-laws’ homes for a few nights. The RV had everything we needed and was in great shape—clean, well-equipped, and surprisingly easy to drive. We returned it with just a minor hubcap issue and no other problems, which felt like a blessing after such a big trip. We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this RV to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and fun way to travel. Thanks again, Bill!

RV rental in Damascus, MD is one of the most affordable ways to explore the DC, Baltimore, and Maryland mountain region. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $130 per night, campervans run roughly $150 to $200, and Class C motorhomes average $200 to $275, depending on age, size, and season. To find a cheap RV rental in Damascus, MD, aim for midweek pickups, shoulder-season dates in April or late October, and trips of four nights or longer where many hosts offer weekly discounts. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Damascus,MarylandDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Damascus, MD?
Good news: for almost every RV you'll rent in Damascus, MD, your regular Class C driver's license is all you need. Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration only requires a non-commercial Class B license for RVs with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating over 26,000 pounds, and virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, and travel trailer on RVezy falls well under that limit. You'll also need to be at least 25 years old to book, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform. Visiting from abroad? An International Driving Permit paired with your home license works. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick the approval is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs insurance and roadside assistance included with my RV rental?
Yes, every RVezy booking in Damascus, MD includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Interstate 270 toward the Catoctin Mountains with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage level at checkout. Roadside assistance is built in too, meaning a flat tire on Ridge Road or a dead battery at Little Bennett Campground is a quick phone call away. It gives you meaningful financial protection so you can focus on the trip, not the what-ifs.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat's the cancellation policy if my plans change?
Booking your RV rental in Damascus, MD is low risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy and applies it consistently across every listing. There is a grace period right after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and additional refund tiers based on how far out you are from your trip start date. Special situations like natural disasters or major travel disruptions are also considered. You can review the exact terms on the RVezy website during checkout. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best RVs near Damascus for fall foliage trips to Catoctin Mountain Park, knowing you have flexibility if plans shift.

Yes, RV delivery in Damascus is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drive the rig to your home, a friend's driveway in Montgomery County, or directly to a campground like Little Bennett, Cherry Hill Park in College Park, or Greenbelt Park. They will level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees are typically based on mileage from the host's location. Pro tip: filter listings by Delivery and message the host to confirm your specific campsite is on their route.

montgomeryparks.org/parks-and-trails/little-bennett-regional-park/little-bennett-campground/When is the best time to rent an RV in Damascus, MD?
The sweet spot for an RV trip from Damascus is mid-April through late October, with two standout windows. Spring (April to early June) brings 60 to 75 degree days, dogwoods blooming, and quieter campgrounds. Fall (mid-September to late October) is arguably the best season, with crisp 50 to 70 degree weather and brilliant foliage across Catoctin Mountain and Sugarloaf. Summer is warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s, great for lake days at Black Hill Regional Park but expect peak pricing. Winter is chilly (20s to 40s) and many area campgrounds close January and February. Pro tip: book a mid-October weekend trip to Catoctin for unbeatable peak-leaf views.
weather.gov/lwx/I've never rented an RV before. Is it really that easy?
It really is, and Damascus is a great place for first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup, showing you how to operate the generator, slide-outs, water system, propane, and dump valves, and they're a text away during your whole trip. The roads around Damascus, especially Route 27 and Interstate 270, are wide and well-maintained, perfect for getting comfortable behind the wheel before you head into the mountains. For your first trip, choose a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan and pick a nearby campground like Little Bennett for a low-stress shakedown weekend. Pro tip: message the host with any questions before booking, they love helping new renters.
nps.gov/cato/index.htmWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Damascus, MD includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and tows. If you have a bigger issue, RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after every trip. The closest major service hubs are in Gaithersburg and Frederick, both within 20 miles of Damascus, so help is rarely far. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup so any pre-existing items are documented and you can focus on the fun.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Damascus RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is completely fine and one of the joys of an RV road trip from Damascus, MD. Popular routes include the Blue Ridge Parkway through Virginia, the Outer Banks in North Carolina, and Acadia National Park in Maine. Canadian travel is allowed on many listings, but you'll want to message the host before booking to confirm, since their insurance setup needs to support it. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance coverage limits. Pro tip: if you are heading to Niagara Falls or Quebec, message a few hosts in advance, those who say yes often have all the cross-border paperwork already in order.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much will fuel cost on my Damascus RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable in your budget, but it's easy to plan for. Class C motorhomes around Damascus typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, campervans run 16 to 20 mpg, and most travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 mpg loaded). Maryland gas prices generally run a bit above the national average, so estimate accordingly. For a weekend trip to Catoctin Mountain Park (roughly 70 miles round trip from Damascus), budget around $40 to $60 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fuel up at the Costco in Gaithersburg or Wawa stations along Route 27 before heading north, they're consistently among the cheapest in Montgomery County.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Damascus?
For peak season (May through October), book your campground as early as you book your RV. Little Bennett Campground accepts reservations up to a year in advance through ActiveMONTGOMERY.org, and full hook-up sites in D Loop go fast for summer weekends and fall foliage. State park campgrounds like Cunningham Falls and Greenbrier book through the Maryland Park Reservation Service and typically open six months out. National park sites at Catoctin Mountain Park's Owens Creek go through Recreation.gov. Pro tip: if Little Bennett is full, check the cancellation list a week before your trip, last-minute openings happen often, especially Sunday through Thursday nights.
montgomeryparks.org/parks-and-trails/little-bennett-regional-park/campsites/What are driving conditions like around Damascus, MD?
Driving an RV around Damascus is friendlier than driving one in most metro areas. Damascus itself sits in rolling Montgomery County farmland with two-lane roads like Route 27 and Ridge Road that handle Class C motorhomes comfortably. Interstate 270 is the main artery south to DC and north to Frederick, with wide lanes and easy interchanges. Avoid driving an oversized rig into Bethesda, downtown DC, or onto the George Washington Memorial Parkway, which has low clearances and bans commercial-style vehicles. Winter occasionally brings ice and snow December through February. Pro tip: head out early Saturday morning to skip the Interstate 270 commuter crunch, you'll cruise straight to Catoctin without hitting traffic.
roads.maryland.gov/What hookups and amenities do campgrounds near Damascus offer?
Most established campgrounds within an hour of Damascus offer the essentials for RV camping near Damascus. Little Bennett Campground has 22 full hook-up sites (30 and 50 amp electric, water, and sewer), plus a dump station, potable water fill, hot showers, and a camp store. Cherry Hill Park in College Park is a step up with WiFi, a pool, and pull-throughs for big rigs. State park campgrounds like Cunningham Falls and Greenbrier generally offer electric and water but no sewer, with central dump stations. Pro tip: the dump station at Little Bennett is included with your stay, so plan to empty tanks on your way out rather than searching for one mid-trip.
montgomeryparks.org/parks-and-trails/little-bennett-regional-park/little-bennett-campground/What's inside a typical RV rental in Damascus, MD?
You'll be impressed by how well-equipped modern RVs are. A typical motorhome rental in Damascus, MD includes a queen or king bed, convertible dinette or sofa for extra sleepers, a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with both air conditioning and furnace, and seatbelts at every travel seat. Many listings also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, and an onboard generator for off-grid power. Some hosts offer WiFi hotspots as an add-on, which is great for working remotely from a campsite near Sugarloaf Mountain. Pro tip: check each listing's amenity list and message the host if you need something specific like a coffee maker or pack-and-play.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Damascus,MarylandWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect when I rent an RV in Damascus, MD?

Common extras include kitchen kits, linens and bedding packages, bike racks, outdoor chairs, generator hours, propane refills, and pet packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Damascus, Mount Airy, or Gaithersburg, with delivery available for an additional fee. Pro tip: bundle linens and a kitchen kit if you're flying in, it saves a Target run and gets you on the road faster toward Little Bennett or Catoctin.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Damascus,MarylandHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and fully handled through the RVezy platform, so you never hand cash to the host. You pay the rental total, taxes, and any selected add-ons by credit or debit card when you book, with no surprise charges later. A refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card a few days before pickup, typically between $500 and $1,500 depending on the RV. As long as the rig comes back in the same shape it left, the hold is released within a few days of your return. Pro tip: take a quick video walkaround at pickup and drop-off, it's the easiest way to ensure your deposit comes back fast after your Damascus RV trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhere can I legally park an RV overnight around Damascus, MD?
The short answer: stay at a campground, and you're golden. Maryland limits highway rest area stops to three hours and does not allow overnight RV parking, and most Montgomery County municipalities prohibit overnight RV parking on public streets or in shopping center lots. The good news is you have great legal options within 30 minutes of Damascus: Little Bennett Campground in Clarksburg, Cherry Hill Park in College Park, and Ramblin' Pines in Woodbine all welcome overnight RVers. Private driveways are fine with the owner's permission. Pro tip: book your campsite before you book your RV in summer, it locks in your trip and keeps you on the right side of where to park an RV in Damascus.
