Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Linthicum Heights?

Good news for first-timers: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Linthicum Heights for the vast majority of rigs on RVezy. Maryland only requires a non-commercial Class B license for motorhomes with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) above 26,000 pounds, which is rare and mostly applies to the largest Class A coaches. Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels all stay well under that limit. You must be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right in the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit and you're set.

Is RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included?

Yes, every RV rental in Linthicum Heights booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the Capital Beltway or head down I-97 toward Annapolis with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV, and you choose your coverage tier during checkout, not the host. Roadside help covers flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing if something unexpected happens. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers before booking so you can pick what fits your trip style and group size.

What if I need to cancel my Linthicum Heights RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear, consistent cancellation policy on every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Cancellation outcomes depend on how far in advance you cancel, and special circumstances are handled by the RVezy support team. Hosts don't set or change the cancellation terms, RVezy does, which means the same rules apply across every listing in Maryland. If a host cancels, you receive a full refund or travel credit. Pro tip: book earlier rather than later for peak BWI travel weekends, because the best Linthicum Heights rigs sell out fast.

Spring and fall are the sweet spot for RV camping Linthicum Heights, and locals will tell you the same. Mid-April through early June brings 60 to 80 degree days, blooming dogwoods at Patapsco Valley, and fewer crowds. September and October deliver crisp 55 to 75 degree weather and gorgeous Mid-Atlantic foliage along the Patapsco River. Summers (June to August) are warm and humid, often in the high 80s with afternoon thunderstorms, but kids' school break makes it the busiest season. Winters dip into the 30s and 40s with occasional snow. Pro tip: book a late-September trip to catch the Maryland Renaissance Festival in nearby Crownsville plus peak fall colors.

Can I take my Linthicum Heights RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is the whole point of an RV trip, and your RVezy rental from Linthicum Heights is ready to roll. Popular routes include heading north on I-95 to Philadelphia (about 100 miles) and New York (about 200 miles), south to Williamsburg (about 175 miles) and the Outer Banks, or west on I-70 to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Crossing into Canada is possible with some hosts, but you must confirm with the host in advance for insurance and border-paperwork reasons. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on any RVezy rental. Pro tip: message the host through the listing before booking if you're planning a multi-state route so they can confirm coverage.

What should I budget for fuel on a Maryland RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan. Maryland's state gas tax is among the higher rates in the region, and most RVs you'll rent on RVezy get between 8 and 14 miles per gallon depending on size. A weeklong 600-mile loop in a Class C, for example, runs roughly $200 to $300 in fuel at typical Maryland pump prices. Travel trailers towed by your own truck can be cheaper to fuel. Pro tip: fill up before crossing into the Baltimore-DC corridor, where prices tend to be highest, and use a fuel-finder app to spot cheaper stations along I-95 and US-29.
fueleconomy.gov/feg/gasprices/states/MD.shtml

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Linthicum Heights?

Plan ahead and you'll lock in the best sites. Maryland State Parks, including Patapsco Valley, open reservations up to 365 days in advance through the official ParkReservations.Maryland.gov system, and summer weekends at Hilton Area and Hollofield commonly sell out 3 to 6 months ahead. Private parks like Cherry Hill Park and Washington DC/Capitol KOA also fill up fast on holiday weekends and around Naval Academy events in Annapolis. For shoulder-season trips, 2 to 4 weeks out is usually plenty. Pro tip: use a cancellation-alert service like Campnab to catch last-minute openings at sold-out Patapsco sites, especially Friday and Saturday nights from May through October.

What are local driving conditions like around Linthicum Heights?

You've got good news and a heads-up. The good news: Linthicum Heights sits right at the BWI Airport interchange with easy access to I-95, I-695 (the Baltimore Beltway), I-97, and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, so getting out of town is straightforward. The heads-up: rush hour from 7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6:30 PM can be brutal on the Beltway, and downtown Baltimore has low clearances around the harbor tunnels, the Fort McHenry Tunnel restricts propane, so use I-695 with your RV instead. Pro tip: leave town before 6:30 AM or after 7 PM, and stick to I-97 south to Annapolis for the smoothest start to a Chesapeake Bay adventure.
mdta.maryland.gov/Tunnels/FortMcHenryTunnel.html

What hookups and amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Linthicum Heights?

Most local campgrounds make RV life easy. Cherry Hill Park, Washington DC/Capitol KOA, and Bar Harbor RV Park offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric), Wi-Fi, laundry, and dump stations. Patapsco Valley State Park's Hollofield Area provides electric hookups and access to potable water fill stations and dump facilities, though sewer is via dump-only. Greenbelt Park is more rustic with no hookups but has flush toilets and showers. For dumping along the way, the Maryland House Travel Plaza on I-95 north and Pilot/Flying J stations near Jessup are reliable. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the host's driveway, and ask about a free first dump-station lesson at pickup.
dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/pages/central/patapsco.aspx

What equipment and amenities come inside a typical RVezy rental in Linthicum Heights?

Most rigs are road-ready right out of the driveway. Expect a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink; a bathroom with toilet and shower; comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 (depending on floorplan); air conditioning and a furnace; a dinette and lounge area; and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Many campervan rental Linthicum Heights listings also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, solar power, and onboard generator for off-grid stays. Linens, kitchenware, and outdoor chairs are commonly included or offered as low-cost add-ons. Pro tip: check the listing's amenity list and message the host for anything specific (like a French press or a portable grill) before booking, most are happy to accommodate.
energy.gov/energysaver/rv-and-camper-energy-efficiency

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about when I rent an RV in Linthicum Heights?

Hosts make customization simple. Common add-ons for an RV rental Maryland trip include bedding and towel packages, kitchen kits, generators, outdoor grills, bike racks, kayak racks, camp chairs, and Wi-Fi hotspots, typically a small flat fee per item per trip. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Linthicum Heights, Glen Burnie, or Hanover, with delivery available to BWI-area campgrounds by arrangement. Mileage policies vary, with many hosts offering 100 to 150 free miles per night and per-mile rates beyond. Pro tip: bundle add-ons when you book to save versus adding them later, and confirm pickup time windows so you can hit the road before Beltway traffic.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Linthicum Heights on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, never in cash to the host. A security deposit is held (not charged) on your card and is separate from your booking payment, covering any potential damage or extra cleaning, and it's released after a successful return walkthrough, typically within a few days. The amount varies by RV class and host. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos and a quick walkaround video at both pickup and return, this protects everyone and makes any deposit questions easy to resolve quickly.
