2021 Flagstaff Travel Trailer
We rented this RV from August 21–25, and from beginning to end, we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Charlie and Margaret were amazing hosts! Their communication was excellent, and they were always helpful, friendly, responsive, and very professional. They truly made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. The RV itself was beautiful, modern, extremely clean, and very well maintained. As soon as we walked inside, we were impressed. The lighting throughout the RV was fantastic—there were plenty of lights, which made the space feel bright, comfortable, and welcoming. The bathroom was extremely clean and surprisingly spacious. The bedroom was large, comfortable, and cozy, with plenty of storage space for clothes and personal belongings. We never felt cramped at all. The kitchen was one of our favorite features. It was beautiful and spacious, with a long countertop that gave us plenty of room to prepare meals. Charlie and Margaret really thought of everything. The cabinets and drawers were stocked with pots, pans, plates, utensils, and everything else we needed. They even provided plenty of cleaning supplies, including a broom, vacuum, Lysol wipes, and more. What impressed us most was how much this RV truly felt like a home away from home. We had everything we needed—and honestly, even more than we expected. You can tell Charlie and Margaret put a lot of thought and care into making sure their guests are comfortable and have a great experience. Whether you’re going camping, attending an outdoor event, or simply looking for a comfortable RV getaway, I would highly recommend renting from Charlie and Margaret. Beautiful RV, outstanding hosts, excellent communication, and a five-star experience all around. Thank you, Charlie and Margaret, for helping make our trip so comfortable and memorable! We would absolutely rent from you again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Mount Sinai, NY
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Mount Sinai, NY?
RV rental in Mount Sinai is more affordable than most Long Island travelers expect, especially compared to summer hotel rates. On RVezy, towable trailers typically average around $100 to $150 per night while motorhomes generally run $175 to $275 per night, and many hosts offer 10 to 20 percent weekly or monthly discounts. To find a cheap RV rental in Mount Sinai, filter by travel trailer (you will need a hitch-equipped tow vehicle), travel midweek, or book a shoulder-season trip in May or September. Bundling delivery with a longer stay often costs less than nightly fees plus the gas you would burn towing.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mount%20Sinai%2C%20New%20YorkDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Mount Sinai, NY?
Good news: a regular New York State driver's license (or any valid US or international license) is all you need to rent an RV in Mount Sinai. No commercial driver's license (CDL) or RV endorsement is required for any Class A, Class B, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, or fifth wheel listed on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally required to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP), and you are set for your Long Island adventure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs my Mount Sinai RV rental protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in Mount Sinai booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the Long Island Expressway with peace of mind. The protection plan covers damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout, not the host. It provides real financial protection if something unexpected happens, whether you ding a mirror at a Wildwood State Park campsite or get a flat on Route 25A. Pick the level that matches your comfort and travel further with confidence.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if my plans change after I book my Mount Sinai RV rental?
Plans change, and RVezy is built to flex with you. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy for every booking, and there is a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your Mount Sinai dates without overthinking it. Refund eligibility after the grace period depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credits. You will see the full details on your booking page before you confirm, so book that Memorial Day weekend trip to Wildwood State Park and adjust later if life happens.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Mount Sinai, NY?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Mount Sinai is easy to find. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly narrow your search to hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats), and message the host with your pet's size and breed before booking to confirm the fit. Once you are rolling, leashed dogs are welcome at most Long Island campgrounds, including Wildwood State Park and Heckscher State Park, with a six-foot leash maximum and proof of rabies vaccination required by New York State Parks. Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai also has off-season dog-walking access, perfect for a sunset stroll after dinner in the RV.
parks.ny.gov/camping/things-to-know.aspxCan the RV be delivered to my campsite or driveway in Mount Sinai?
Yes, RV delivery in Mount Sinai is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game-changer if it is your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the rig to your driveway, a North Shore family home, or directly to a campground like Wildwood State Park in Wading River (about 12 miles east) or Heckscher State Park in East Islip. They will level the RV, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Filter listings by Delivery on RVezy, and you can enjoy a full Mount Sinai RV trip without ever getting behind a big wheel.
parks.ny.gov/parks/wildwoodHow far can I drive on a typical Mount Sinai RV trip?
Plenty far. Each host on RVezy sets their own mileage policy, and you will see it clearly on the listing, with some offering generous daily allowances and others offering RV rental with unlimited mileage, ideal for a longer RV road trip from Mount Sinai. From Mount Sinai, you are roughly 50 miles from Montauk Point, 30 miles from the Orient Point ferry to New London, CT, 130 miles from the Catskills, and about 250 miles from Cape Cod. Estimate your route, add a buffer, and message the host if you need extra miles, they are usually happy to adjust.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mount%20Sinai%2C%20New%20YorkWhere are the best campgrounds near Mount Sinai, NY?
The best campgrounds near Mount Sinai are within a short drive and book up fast in summer. Wildwood State Park in Wading River (about 12 miles east) offers wooded sites overlooking Long Island Sound. Heckscher State Park in East Islip on the South Shore has campsites with electric hookups. Cedar Point County Park in East Hampton features bluff-top sites near Gardiners Bay, and Hither Hills State Park in Montauk delivers oceanfront camping on the Atlantic. For South Shore beach lovers, Smith Point County Park near Fire Island is a classic. Reserve New York State Parks through ReserveAmerica up to nine months in advance.
newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/When is the best time of year for RV camping in Mount Sinai?
Late May through early October is prime time for RV camping in Mount Sinai, with the sweet spots being June and September. Summer highs average 80 to 85 F with warm Atlantic breezes, while shoulder-season days run a comfortable 65 to 75 F with cooler nights perfect for campfires. July and August are warmest and busiest, so reserve campsites early. Fall foliage peaks across the North Fork in mid-to-late October and pairs beautifully with vineyard visits. Most Long Island state park campgrounds operate roughly April through mid-November, so plan around those dates for the smoothest Mount Sinai RV trip.
weather.gov/okx/I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay on Long Island roads?
You have got this, and a first time renting an RV in Mount Sinai is more common than you would think. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, propane, water, and waste systems, and you can text them throughout your trip with questions. A few Long Island-specific tips: the state parkways (Northern State, Southern State, Sunrise, Meadowbrook) have low bridges and prohibit RVs and trailers, so stick to the Long Island Expressway (I-495), Route 25, Route 25A, and Sunrise Highway (Route 27 east of Heckscher). Choose a Class B campervan rental in Mount Sinai or a small Class C if you are nervous, and consider delivery to skip the drive entirely.
dot.ny.gov/What happens if I break down during my Mount Sinai RV trip?
Help is one phone call away. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing. From Mount Sinai, you are never far from a service hub, with RV-friendly shops in Port Jefferson, Smithtown, and Riverhead that can usually get you back on the road quickly. Your host is also a great first call for quirks specific to their rig. Save the roadside number from your booking confirmation in your phone before you leave, and you will roll with full confidence whether you are at Cedar Beach or out on the North Fork wine trail.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Mount Sinai RV rental into Connecticut or other states?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome and a Mount Sinai RV trip pairs perfectly with a New England loop. The Cross Sound Ferry from Orient Point to New London, CT (about 30 miles east of Mount Sinai by road to the terminal) lets you skip NYC traffic and reach Mystic, Newport, and Cape Cod with ease. Many hosts also welcome trips to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the Catskills, and the Adirondacks. Confirm your route in the message thread before booking, since a few hosts cap travel distance. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, and Canada trips require advance host approval. Otherwise, the open road is yours.
longislandferry.com/How much should I budget for fuel on a Mount Sinai RV road trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable cost, so plan smart. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class B campervans get 15 to 20 MPG, and a travel trailer towed by an SUV typically pulls 10 to 14 MPG. Long Island gas prices tend to run above the national average, so fill up at Costco in Holbrook or BJ's in Riverhead, or cross to mainland Connecticut where prices are often lower. For a 4-day, 300-mile loop through the North Fork and Montauk from your Mount Sinai RV rental, budget roughly $120 to $200 in fuel depending on rig size.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Mount Sinai?
Book early, Long Island campgrounds fill faster than almost anywhere in the Northeast. New York State Park campgrounds (Wildwood, Heckscher, Hither Hills, Orient Beach) open reservations up to nine months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and prime summer weekends at Hither Hills sell out within minutes of release. Suffolk County parks like Cedar Point and Smith Point require a Green Key card for resident rates and open reservations well in advance. For shoulder-season trips in May, September, or October, you can often grab a site three to four weeks ahead. Set a calendar alert for 9:00 AM on your nine-month booking date.
newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/What are the driving conditions like around Mount Sinai for RVs?
Mount Sinai sits on Long Island's North Shore, with easy access to Route 25A and a short hop to the Long Island Expressway (I-495). The biggest thing to know: Long Island's scenic parkways (Northern State, Southern State, Sunrise west of Heckscher, Wantagh, Meadowbrook, Ocean) ban all commercial vehicles, RVs, and trailers because of low stone-arch bridges, some as low as 7 to 9 feet. Stick to I-495, Route 27 east of Heckscher, and Routes 25, 25A, and 27A. Summer Friday afternoons get heavy heading east, so leave Mount Sinai before noon or after 7 PM for a smoother ride to the Hamptons or North Fork.
dot.ny.gov/What amenities do campgrounds near Mount Sinai offer for RVs?
Most campgrounds near Mount Sinai are well-equipped for RV camping. Wildwood State Park offers electric hookups at many sites, hot showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. Heckscher State Park has sites with electric service, plus potable water fills and a dump station. Cedar Point County Park provides electric hookups along with a dump station. Full sewer hookups are rarer at state parks, so plan to dump on the way out. For full hookups, head to Cathedral Pines County Park in Middle Island, which is within about 15 minutes of Mount Sinai.
parks.ny.gov/parks/heckscherWhat is included inside a typical RV rental in Mount Sinai?
You will be impressed by how turnkey RVezy rentals are. Most motorhome rentals in Mount Sinai come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa beds, a kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, propane heat, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many hosts include linens, towels, cookware, a TV, and even backup generators or solar setups. WiFi is usually BYO (bring your phone hotspot), since Long Island has strong cellular coverage. Check the Amenities section of each listing, and ask the host about anything specific you need, such as a bike rack, beach chairs, or a kayak roof rack.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mount%20Sinai%2C%20New%20YorkWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for my Mount Sinai RV rental?
Most Mount Sinai hosts offer a menu of useful add-ons to tailor your trip. Common extras include delivery and setup (typically priced per mile), generator use, bike racks, kayak or paddleboard mounts, propane refills, linens and kitchen kits, and even pre-stocked groceries. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Mount Sinai or nearby Port Jefferson, Miller Place, or Setauket, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary by listing, with some offering unlimited miles for local trips and others charging a per-mile fee over the included allowance. All fees show transparently before you book.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Mount%20Sinai%2C%20New%20YorkHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple, secure, and all handled inside RVezy, with no cash or side deals with the host. You pay the rental total (nightly rate, fees, taxes, protection, and any add-ons) by credit card at booking, and a refundable security deposit is held separately before pickup. The deposit amount depends on the RV and your chosen protection level, and it is released back to your card after a clean return. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkaround with your host (photos and video) at pickup and dropoff, and return with a clean rig and full propane.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat is a great first family RV trip from Mount Sinai?
A family RV trip from Mount Sinai practically plans itself: head about 25 minutes east to Wildwood State Park for two nights of bluff-top camping and Long Island Sound swimming, then continue another 45 minutes east to the North Fork for a day at Orient Beach State Park and farm stands in Greenport. Cap the trip in Montauk (about 90 minutes from Wildwood) with Hither Hills State Park's oceanfront sites and Montauk Point Lighthouse. Insider tip: the lavender farm in East Marion and the wineries along Route 25 are local favorites tourists often miss. Book your Mount Sinai RV rental with delivery and the whole trip is stress-free from start to finish.
