We had an amazing experience renting this camper van for the weekend! The van was clean, comfortable, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. It easily carried all of our gear, including a cooler and fishing poles, with plenty of room to spare. It truly had all the comforts of home—and more. From the kitchen essentials to the camping accessories, everything was provided, making our trip easy and enjoyable. Mark, the owner, was fantastic to work with. He took the time to thoroughly show us how to operate the van and explained all of its features and accessories before we left. His attention to detail and willingness to answer our questions made us feel confident and well prepared for our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better rental experience. If you’re looking for a well-equipped camper van and an owner who genuinely cares about his renters, we highly recommend renting from Mark. We would definitely rent from him again!

What license do I need to rent an RV in New York?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Old Bethpage. New York does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers under 26,000 pounds, which covers essentially every RV on the RVezy marketplace. How far in advance do I need to book a campground?

For closer options, Battle Row in Old Bethpage and Nickerson Beach in Lido Beach are managed by Nassau County and accept reservations, with summer weekends filling up by spring. Heckscher State Park may accept same-day reservations if you're flexible. Pro tip: target Sunday-to-Thursday stays for last-minute availability at the most popular Long Island spots.

What is driving like around Old Bethpage and Long Island?

Driving here is straightforward once you know two things: parkways and traffic. Long Island's scenic parkways (Northern State, Southern State, Meadowbrook, Wantagh, Ocean) ban commercial vehicles and most RVs due to low stone bridge clearances, some under 8 feet. Stick to the Long Island Expressway (I-495), Sunrise Highway (Route 27), and Route 25 with your motorhome rental Old Bethpage, all of which handle big rigs fine. Avoid weekday rush hours (7 to 10 AM and 4 to 7 PM) on the LIE. Pro tip: heading to Montauk on a Friday in summer? Leave Old Bethpage before 6 AM or after 8 PM to skip the Hamptons traffic crawl.

What amenities can I expect at Long Island campgrounds?

Local campgrounds are well-equipped for a comfortable RV camping Old Bethpage experience. Battle Row offers electric and water hookups at most of its sites, a dump station, clean showers, and a playground. Nickerson Beach has full hookups at some sites and a dedicated dump station, plus oceanfront access. Heckscher State Park provides electric sites and potable water fill-ups. Most New York State Park campgrounds offer potable water spigots, dump stations, flush toilets, and hot showers, though full sewer hookups at the site are rarer than electric and water. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank and dump before leaving any campground so you're ready for anything.

Many hosts include a generator, outdoor awning, Bluetooth stereo, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes typically have queen beds, a dinette that converts to sleeping, and bunk options that are family-trip gold. Pickup is typically at the host's home, but delivery to Battle Row, Nickerson Beach, or your driveway is common (fees vary by distance). Mileage policies are listed clearly on each RVezy listing along with any pet or generator fees. Pro tip: bundle linens and a kitchen kit to skip the last-minute store run before your trip.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure through the RVezy platform, you'll never hand cash to a host. You pay your booking total (rental, taxes, protection plan, any add-ons) by credit card when you confirm, and the funds are held by RVezy until your trip starts. A refundable security deposit is placed as an authorization hold on your card before pickup, with the amount set by each host. As long as you return the rig in the same condition (and within the mileage and generator limits), the hold is released after your trip. Pro tip: photograph the RV inside and out at pickup and dropoff to avoid any deposit disputes.
