Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Morgantown, PA
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Morgantown, PA?
Great news for budget-conscious travelers: an RV rental in Morgantown, PA fits a wide range of budgets. Travel trailers typically run around $90 to $130 per night, while motorhomes (Class A, B, and C) average $175 to $250 per night. Most hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly and monthly bookings, so longer trips save you serious money. For a cheap RV rental in Morgantown, look at towable trailers and book midweek or in the shoulder seasons (April or late September) when demand at nearby Lancaster County and French Creek State Park dips. Pro tip: filter for hosts with unlimited mileage if you're planning to hop between Amish Country, Hershey, and Philadelphia in the same week.
visitpa.com/What license do I need to rent an RV in Morgantown, PA?
Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Morgantown, PA. Pennsylvania does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers under standard weights, so a Class C license (the everyday one in your wallet) covers everything on RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older, and we verify your ID right through the platform when you book. Visiting from outside the United States? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home license before you fly in. First time renting an RV? Your host walks you through the entire vehicle at pickup, so you'll never feel like you're guessing.
dmv.pa.gov/Driver-Services/Driver-Licensing/Pages/default.aspxWhat kind of protection comes with my RVezy booking in Morgantown?
Every RV rental in Morgantown, PA on RVezy automatically includes a protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the Pennsylvania Turnpike with real peace of mind. During checkout you choose from RVezy renter protection plan tiers depending on how much coverage you want; all of them cover accidental damage to the RV up to the plan's limits. You stay in control by picking the level that fits your trip. Pro tip: pick your protection level based on your route. Heading into the rolling hills around French Creek State Park or up to the Poconos? A higher tier is worth the extra confidence.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Morgantown RV trip?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy that applies to every Morgantown RV trip, including a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in dates without stress. Refund amounts depend on how far ahead of your pickup date you cancel. Because the cancellation policy is set by RVezy and not by individual hosts, you get the same fair process no matter which listing you choose. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credits. Pro tip: book early to lock in summer weekends near Hopewell Lake and Lancaster, then relax knowing you are covered if life changes plans.

Absolutely. Plenty of pet-friendly RV rental Morgantown options are available on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you will see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) along for the ride. Once you are rolling, your pup will love French Creek State Park's leashed trails around Hopewell Lake and the wide grassy loops at Spring Gulch Resort Campground in nearby New Holland. Most Lancaster County campgrounds allow leashed pets at RV sites. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your pet's size and breed, ask about any cleaning fee, and confirm whether a fenced area is nearby for off-leash zoomies.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/FrenchCreekStatePark/Pages/default.aspxCan the RV be delivered to my campsite near Morgantown?
Yes, RV delivery Morgantown is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather skip driving a big rig. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to French Creek State Park, Sun Valley RV Park, Spring Gulch Resort Campground, or even your driveway in Berks, Chester, or Lancaster County. They will level it, hook up water, sewer, and electric, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Delivery fees are usually based on distance from the host's home base. Pro tip: bundle delivery with a stationary campground stay, you skip the highway entirely and just enjoy the campfire.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morgantown%2C%20PennsylvaniaHow far can I travel on a Morgantown RV trip with typical mileage limits?

You are spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Morgantown, PA include French Creek State Park (about 8 miles away, with wooded sites and access to Hopewell Lake for kayaking and fishing), Sun Valley RV Park in Bowmansville (full hookups, pool, and easy Turnpike access), Spring Gulch Resort Campground in New Holland (a resort-style park in Amish farmland), and Sun Outdoors Lancaster County for amenity lovers. dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/FrenchCreekStatePark/Pages/default.aspxWhen is the best time to take an RV trip in Morgantown, PA?
Late spring through mid-fall is prime time for RV camping Morgantown trips, with June through early October being the sweet spot. Summer (June to August) brings warm days in the upper 70s to mid-80s F and lush green countryside, perfect for swimming at Hopewell Lake. Fall (mid-September through late October) is arguably the best season, daytime temps drop to the 60s, humidity disappears, and the Berks and Lancaster County hardwood forests light up in red, orange, and gold. Spring (April to May) is great for wildflowers and lower rates. Pro tip: book a late-September week to catch peak Pennsylvania Dutch Country harvest festivals plus early leaf color.
weather.gov/ctp/I've never driven an RV. Is renting in Morgantown beginner-friendly?
Totally, Morgantown is one of the friendlier areas in Pennsylvania for a first time renting an RV. The roads around town (Route 10, Route 23, and Route 176) are well-maintained two-lane highways with gentle grades, far less stressful than dense city driving. Your host will spend 30 to 60 minutes at pickup walking you through driving, leveling, hookups, awning operation, slide-outs, and dumping. You can also message them with questions any time during your trip. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer for your first ride, and pick a campground within 30 minutes (French Creek is perfect) so your maiden voyage is short and confidence-building.
penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Pages/default.aspxWhat if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking in Morgantown includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical issues. If something happens on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-176, or a back road in Amish Country, one phone call dispatches help to your exact location. Your host is also just a message away to walk you through smaller fixes like resetting the generator or troubleshooting the fridge. RVezy support is available before, during, and after your trip too. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before you leave the host's driveway, that 30-second step is the best safeguard for a smooth Pennsylvania adventure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best road trips from Morgantown, PA?
You're sitting on one of the best RV road trip from Morgantown launchpads in the Mid-Atlantic. Popular routes include: a 50-mile hop east to Philadelphia for Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, a 45-mile drive northwest to Hershey for chocolate and theme parks, a 75-mile cruise west to Gettysburg National Military Park, a 90-mile journey north to the Pocono Mountains for waterfalls and lakes, and a scenic 140-mile drive south to Washington DC. Cross-state trips into Maryland, Delaware, and New York are all allowed; just confirm with your host. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. visitpa.com/What does fuel cost for an RV trip from Morgantown?
Fuel is a manageable line item on your budget. Pennsylvania gas prices typically run a touch above the national average, recent prices hover around $3.40 to $3.70 per gallon for regular and $3.90 to $4.30 for diesel. Class C motorhomes around Morgantown average 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG), Class B campervans hit 16 to 20 MPG, and a tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer gets roughly 10 to 13 MPG. For a 300-mile loop to Gettysburg and back in a Class C, budget about $110 to $140 in fuel. Pro tip: top off at the Wawa or Sheetz just off the PA-10 exit before you head into Amish Country, prices climb at smaller rural stations.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Morgantown?
For the best sites, book early, but you've got options either way. Pennsylvania State Parks (including French Creek) open reservations 11 months ahead via the official PA State Parks system, and summer weekends at French Creek vanish within days. Private parks like Sun Valley RV Campground and Spring Gulch RV Resort book 3 to 6 months out for July, August, and fall foliage weekends. For midweek stays or shoulder season (April, May, late September), 2 to 4 weeks ahead is usually fine. Pro tip: if your first-choice weekend is full, search for Sunday-through-Thursday stays instead, you'll find availability, lower rates, and quieter campfires across the entire region.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/ReserveaCampsite/Pages/default.aspxWhat are driving conditions like around Morgantown?
Driving an RV around Morgantown is refreshingly manageable. The town sits at the crossroads of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76), I-176, and PA-10, all wide and RV-friendly. The countryside is rolling rather than mountainous, so you'll handle gentle grades, not steep climbs. Watch for two local quirks: horse-and-buggy traffic on Lancaster and Berks County back roads (slow down well before you pass), and occasional low covered bridges in Amish Country that big rigs should avoid. Winters can bring snow and ice between December and February. Pro tip: stick to numbered state routes and the Turnpike with a tall RV, and use Google Maps' 'avoid tolls' off when possible, the Turnpike's wide shoulders are worth the few dollars.
penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Pages/default.aspxWhat amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Morgantown?
Most campgrounds near Morgantown deliver everything you need for a comfortable stay. Full hookup sites (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric) are standard at private parks like Sun Valley RV Campground, Spring Gulch RV Resort, and Sun Outdoors Lancaster County, along with dump stations, potable water fills, hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and often pools and playgrounds. French Creek State Park offers electric and non-electric sites with a central dump station and potable water. Pro tip: if your rental doesn't have onboard fresh water, fill at the campground entrance and dump on your way out, two minutes of effort that keeps your week worry-free.
dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/FrenchCreekStatePark/Pages/default.aspxWhat's typically inside a Morgantown RV rental?
You will feel right at home. A typical motorhome rental Morgantown setup includes a queen bed, plus convertible dinette and sofa beds (most units sleep 4 to 8), a kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, propane stove, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, furnace, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many listings add a TV, Wi-Fi booster or hotspot, onboard generator, outdoor speakers, and bike racks. A campervan rental Morgantown (Class B) is smaller and cozier, ideal for couples zipping to Hershey or Philadelphia. Pro tip: scan the listing's amenities tab and photos carefully, then message the host to confirm anything mission-critical (like a generator if you plan to boondock).
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morgantown%2C%20PennsylvaniaWhat add-ons and pickup options do Morgantown hosts offer?

Pro tip: book delivery plus a linen package for your first trip, you will arrive at French Creek State Park and walk straight into a made-up RV ready to enjoy.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Morgantown%2C%20PennsylvaniaHow does the security deposit and payment work?
Payments are simple and secure. When you book your RV rental Pennsylvania trip through RVezy, you pay directly through the platform with a credit or debit card, no cash, no awkward Venmo with strangers. A refundable security deposit is placed on hold separately from your booking payment (amount varies by RV) and released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape, usually within a few days of return. To avoid any deposit hiccups, follow the host's checkout instructions: empty tanks, return with the agreed fuel level, and snap photos at pickup and dropoff. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video with the host on day one, two minutes of footage protects both of you and keeps your deposit on the fast track home.
