Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Shiloh, PA
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Shiloh, PA?
An RV rental in Shiloh, PA is one of the most affordable ways to explore central Pennsylvania, with travel trailers typically running around $120 per night and motorhomes averaging about $200 per night. Many hosts on RVezy offer weekly and monthly discounts of 10 to 20 percent, so multi-day York County trips often work out cheaper than a hotel and a rental car combined. For a cheap RV rental in Shiloh, look for travel trailers with delivery included, book midweek between Tuesday and Thursday, and travel in the shoulder months of April, May, September, or October when nightly rates dip. Pro tip: hosts near York and Hanover often offer free weekend nights on stays of five nights or more.
yorkpa.org/places-to-stay/camping-and-glamping/Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Shiloh, PA?
Good news: your regular Class C driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Shiloh for almost every motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. Pennsylvania only requires a non-commercial Class B license for a single vehicle with a GVWR over 26,000 pounds, or a non-commercial Class A for combinations over 26,001 pounds where the towed unit exceeds 10,000 pounds, well above the weight of the Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and typical travel trailers most renters choose. RVezy approved drivers must be at least 25 years old, and ID verification happens right inside the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit and you are set to roll through York County.
pa.gov/agencies/dmv/driver-services/licenses-and-photo-ids/license-types-restrictionsWhat protection is included with my RV rental in Shiloh, PA?
Every RV rental in Shiloh, PA booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Route 30 or I-83 with confidence. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip, whether it is a quick weekend at Codorus State Park or a longer Pennsylvania loop. The plan helps cover physical damage to the RV during your rental, giving real financial peace of mind without arranging a separate policy. Note this is not traditional auto insurance, but it is a substantial safety net backed by RVezy's commercial coverage. Pro tip: snap a few photos at pickup and drop-off so any claim is fast and stress-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my RV rental in Shiloh, PA?
Booking is genuinely low-risk because RVezy sets a single platform-wide cancellation policy, not the host. Cancel more than 30 days before your trip and you receive 100% of rental fees back (minus service fees); cancel between 30 and 8 days out and 50% of rental fees are refunded; within 7 days of the trip start, the booking is non-refundable. If a host cancels, you can choose a full refund to your original payment method or RVezy credits with a 10% bonus. Because the same rules apply to every Shiloh RV rental, you always know exactly where you stand before you confirm. Pro tip: lock in your favorite RV early for peak summer weekends at Pinchot Lake, then keep an eye on the forecast as your trip approaches.

For a private resort feel, try Indian Rock Campgrounds south of York city, or head 25 miles west to Gettysburg Battlefield Resort for Civil War history right outside your door. Pro tip: state park sites open 11 months in advance and the lakeside spots at Codorus sell out fastest, so book early.
pa.gov/agencies/dcnr/recreation/where-to-go/state-parks/find-a-park/codorus-state-park/stayWhen is the best time for an RV trip in Shiloh, PA?

July and August are warm and lush (highs in the mid-80s, occasional thunderstorms), perfect for swimming at Lake Marburg or Pinchot Lake. Fall foliage peaks in mid to late October across York County, turning the rolling Pennsylvania Dutch farmland gold and crimson. Winter RV camping is possible too: Gifford Pinchot State Park's campground stays open year-round for cold-weather adventurers. Pro tip: book a late September Shiloh RV rental to catch warm days, cool nights, and the York Fair atmosphere in town.
weather.gov/ctp/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?

Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, showing you how to operate the generator, slide-outs, water hookups, awning, and waste tanks, you won't be left guessing. Pro tip: pick a shorter first trip, like two nights at Codorus State Park 20 minutes from Shiloh, to build confidence before tackling a longer Pennsylvania RV trip.

You can easily cross into Maryland (the line is just 25 miles south), explore West Virginia, Virginia, New Jersey, or Delaware, all within a comfortable day's drive. Cross-border travel to Canada may be permitted depending on the individual host and the insurance terms on that listing, so message the host before booking if you're dreaming of Niagara Falls or beyond. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class B campervans pull 18 to 22 mpg, and a truck towing a travel trailer usually lands around 10 to 14 mpg. For a typical 300-mile weekend loop from Shiloh to Hershey and back, plan on $90 to $130 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in York or Hanover before heading into the rural stretches around Codorus, prices tend to be lower in town than along the highways.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Shiloh, PA?
Plan ahead and you'll land the prime spots. Pennsylvania State Parks like Codorus and Gifford Pinchot open campsite reservations up to 11 months in advance through the official ReserveAmerica portal, and the lakeside electric sites are typically gone within days of opening for summer weekends and holidays. For a Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day Shiloh RV rental, aim to book your campsite 6 to 9 months out. Private campgrounds like Indian Rock or KOA Gettysburg/Battlefield are a bit more flexible, often bookable 2 to 4 months ahead. Pro tip: midweek summer stays and any weekend in late September often have last-minute openings as cancellations roll in.

The terrain is gentle rolling farmland with no mountain passes, so even a 30-foot Class C feels manageable for new drivers. One local heads-up: PennDOT is replacing the Route 74 bridge over the Conewago Creek through September 2026, with a marked detour via Harmony Grove and Wellsville roads if you're heading to Gifford Pinchot from the south. Pro tip: avoid downtown York during rush hour (4-6 PM weekdays) and take the West Manchester bypass instead, it's far easier in a motorhome.

Payment is straightforward and fully online through RVezy, with no cash exchanges with the host. You pay your trip total securely on the platform, including the nightly rate, cleaning fee, delivery (if added), and protection plan. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video at both pickup and drop-off with the host present, it makes deposit returns fast and dispute-free, and gets you back on the road to your next Shiloh RV adventure that much sooner.
