We had such a fantastic time in this RV. It was in ideal size for our family of 5. We travelled from Maryland, through ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. It was nice to drive and didn't feel too big. Clean throughout and no major issues. The host was very helpful and responded super quick to queries. We hope to rent again in the future.

Scott answered all my questions before I rented as I had never operated an RV. We were embarking on a 2 week trip and decided to try out a small RV van. Scott went over everything before we left and was available by phone for any questions I had while on the road. The van was clean and comfy and had plenty of power to get us up and down the mountain roads. Everything operated smoothly. We did have a slight problem with the AC unit but Scott but Scott was able to find an RV service business that was along our planned route and was able to fix it quickly so we could continue our trip without a change of plans.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Columbia, Tennessee?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Columbia, TN. Tennessee does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs, travel trailers, or motorhomes that you would typically book through RVezy. You will need to be 25 or older and pass RVezy's approved driver verification. Visiting from abroad? What happens if I need to cancel my Columbia RV rental?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy, not the host, sets the cancellation policy, and there is a grace period right after booking where you can cancel and get your money back. After that window, refund amounts depend on how close you are to your trip start date. That flexibility is especially handy if you are planning around Mule Day in early April or the spring storm season in Middle Tennessee. You can review the full cancellation policy on RVezy's Help Center before you book. Pro tip: lock in your dates early for popular weekends like Mule Day or Bonnaroo overflow, since Columbia listings book up fast.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite or rental home in Columbia?

Yes, RV delivery Columbia is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters. Many local hosts will drive the RV directly to Henry Horton State Park, Campers RV Park off Bear Creek Pike, a private property, or even a wedding venue, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. That means no towing, no backing up, and no stress on day one. Delivery fees usually scale with distance, so a drop-off within Maury County is typically more affordable than one out to Franklin or Spring Hill. Pro tip: filter by Delivery on RVezy and ask your host about a setup-and-pickup package so your trip is hands-off from start to finish.

I've never driven an RV. Is Columbia a good place for my first time renting an RV?

Columbia is one of the friendliest places in Tennessee for first time renting an RV. Roads here are wide, flat, and far less congested than Nashville, and the surrounding two-lane country highways like Highway 50 and Highway 412 give you space to get comfortable behind the wheel. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, hookups, slide-outs, and the dump valves, so you won't be left guessing. Choose a smaller Class B campervan rental Columbia or Class C if you want an easier first drive. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip as a second safety net. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before pickup, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate to speed up any service call.

What kind of fuel economy and gas budget should I plan for?

Plan for honest numbers and you'll be fine. A Class B campervan rental Columbia typically gets 16 to 22 MPG, a Class C motorhome rental Columbia averages 8 to 12 MPG, a Class A runs 6 to 10 MPG, and a travel trailer depends on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG combined). Tennessee gas prices regularly run below the national average, and you'll find plenty of large-rig-friendly stations along I-65 at Exit 46 (Columbia) and Exit 53 (Spring Hill). For a 500-mile weekend in a Class C, budget roughly $200 to $275 in fuel. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app and fill up before leaving Columbia, as Nashville-area prices tend to be higher.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Columbia?

Booking early is the move, especially for Henry Horton State Park, which opens reservations up to one year in advance through the official Tennessee State Parks site (reserve.tnstateparks.com). For prime weekends (Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, October foliage, and Mule Day in early April), aim for 4 to 6 months out. Private parks like Campers RV Park and Chickasaw Trace fill up faster during Bonnaroo overflow and Nashville event weekends. Weekday and last-minute bookings are usually doable, even in summer. Pro tip: pair your RVezy booking with a campsite reservation the same week, then message your host with the campground address so they can confirm fit for length and hookups.

Highway 31 and Highway 412 are scenic two-lane routes that handle RVs comfortably, and the nearby Natchez Trace Parkway is a 50 MPH commercial-vehicle-free road purpose-built for slow, scenic cruising. Watch for occasional fog along the Duck River in early morning, summer thunderstorms, and rare winter ice on bridges. You've got several easy options. Campers RV Park on Bear Creek Pike has a dump station and potable water fill available to guests, and Henry Horton State Park provides a dump station near its campground entrance with fresh water spigots throughout the loops.
