2022 Dutchmen Travel Trailer
We enjoyed Drew’s camper very much for our Labor Day weekend trip to Chattanooga! Despite high temps in the 90’s and hitting 100 during the weekend, we even got cold at night from the air conditioning working so well. The camper was clean and looked bigger in person than the pictures. Lastly, even though we never actually got to meet Drew, he was attentive and responsive over messages when we had questions. We would absolutely stay in Drew’s camper again!

We opted for delivery and setup to the campsite which was great! When we arrived everything was set up and ready for us to move in. It was great to escape the heat at the event and have lunch and dinner at the camper. They were awesome to work with! We highly recommend them for a rental option!! We would definitely choose them again!!

So glad I chose to rent an rv for the first time this weekend, as it rained 2 of 3 days and nights. Communication was smooth, even when a strange fluke occurred and I accidently got locked out. Matt immediately drove out to the site with a spare. It seemed to be a malfunction in the mechanism which I'm sure they will be addressing soon. The camper was clean, well equipped and simple to operate. The bed was comfy and I am particular. So , I was , a happy camper.

Hosts near Soddy-Daisy and Hixson often beat downtown Chattanooga prices by 15 to 20 percent.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lakesite,TennesseeWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Lakesite, TN?
A regular Tennessee driver's license (Class D) is all you need to rent an RV in Lakesite, even for a 35-foot Class A motorhome. Tennessee does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal recreational vehicles under 26,001 pounds. To book on RVezy, approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and your ID is verified securely through the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home country license. No road test, no extra permit, just pack and head out to Chickamauga Lake.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs protection included with my Lakesite RV rental?
Yes, every RV rental in Lakesite booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance. During checkout you choose from several protection tiers, each covering most physical damage to the RV so a fender bender on TN-58 or a scraped awning at Harrison Bay State Park doesn't ruin your trip. This isn't traditional auto insurance, but it provides real financial protection backed by the RVezy support team. You choose your coverage level (not the host), so you control the deductible and protection that fits your trip. Review the options at booking and pick the tier that feels right.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if my plans change after I book?
Booking is low risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation (not individual hosts), and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your Lakesite RV trip with confidence. The amount refunded later depends on how close to your trip start you cancel and whether unusual events affect travel. Review the current cancellation terms on the RVezy Help Center before you book, or message support if you have questions. Then reserve and start planning Chickamauga Lake sunsets.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Lakesite RV trip?
Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental Lakesite travelers can find easily by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. Many local hosts welcome dogs for a small cleaning fee, and the area is wonderfully dog-friendly. Harrison Bay State Park allows leashed pets throughout the campground and on all hiking trails including the 4.5-mile Bay Point Loop, and Chester Frost Park in nearby Hixson has shoreline walking paths perfect for evening strolls. Booker T. Washington State Park, also on Chickamauga Lake, welcomes dogs in day-use areas too. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet details and ask about nearby vet clinics in Soddy-Daisy in case you need one mid-trip.
tnstateparks.com/parks/harrison-bayCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Lakesite?
Yes, many hosts in the Lakesite area offer RV delivery, and it's the easiest way to start your trip stress-free. Filter for Delivery on RVezy and you'll find hosts who will tow or drive the RV directly to Harrison Bay State Park, Chester Frost Park, or a private driveway in Lakesite or nearby Soddy-Daisy. They'll level the rig, hook up water, sewer, and 30/50-amp power, and walk you through every system before handing you the keys. Delivery fees vary by distance, typically $2 to $4 per mile round trip. It's perfect for anyone first time renting an RV or skipping the tow-vehicle hassle altogether.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lakesite,TennesseeHow far can I drive on a Lakesite RV rental?
You'll have plenty of range for a great Lakesite RV trip. Most hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage for an extra fee, perfect for longer adventures. From Lakesite you're about 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga, around 2 hours to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, roughly 2.5 hours to Nashville, and about 2 hours to Atlanta. The Ocoee River whitewater area is roughly 60 miles east. If you're planning an RV road trip from Lakesite to the Smokies, ask the host upfront about a mileage package, it almost always works out cheaper than per-mile overages.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lakesite,TennesseeWhere are the best campgrounds near Lakesite, TN?
You're surrounded by excellent Tennessee lakefront camping. Harrison Bay State Park sits about 10 minutes from Lakesite with RV sites along Chickamauga Lake and water/electric hookups. Chester Frost Park in Hixson offers lakeside sites with 30/50-amp service and year-round camping. Booker T. Washington State Park, also on Chickamauga Lake, has quiet RV camping with water and electric. For full hookups, RV resorts north toward Dayton offer concrete pads with sewer. Reserve Harrison Bay and Chester Frost three to six months ahead for summer weekends to lock in the best lakefront sites.
tnstateparks.com/parks/harrison-bayWhen is the best time to visit Lakesite, TN in an RV?
The sweet spot for an RV rental in Lakesite is April through early June and September through October, when temperatures usually sit between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity stays manageable. Summer (June through August) is hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and frequent afternoon thunderstorms over Chickamauga Lake, great for swimming but tough without strong air conditioning. Winters are mild (30s to mid-50s) and many campgrounds including Chester Frost Park stay open year-round. Fall foliage peaks in late October on the surrounding ridges. Book a lakefront site at Harrison Bay in October to enjoy peak color reflected over the water with cool sleeping weather.
weather.gov/mrx/I've never driven an RV before, will I be okay around Lakesite?
You've got this, and Lakesite is a friendly place to learn. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup covering driving, leveling, slide-outs, tanks, and propane, so you're never figuring it out alone. The roads around Lakesite (Hixson Pike, TN-58, and Dayton Pike) are wide and well-maintained. Practice on quiet back roads near Soddy-Daisy before heading toward Harrison Bay State Park. If city traffic worries you, ask the host to deliver the RV, many do. Choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer (under 25 feet) for your first time renting an RV, they drive much like a large pickup truck.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
Help is one phone call away. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and on-the-spot mechanical help anywhere in Tennessee. If you're at Harrison Bay State Park or driving on I-75 toward Chattanooga and something goes sideways, call the roadside number in your booking confirmation and a local provider is dispatched. Your host is also a direct message away for quick questions about quirks specific to their RV. Snap a photo of the propane shutoff, breaker panel, and fuse box during your walkthrough, many roadside calls get resolved over the phone in minutes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take the RV across state lines from Lakesite?
Yes, interstate travel is encouraged and most hosts welcome it. From Lakesite you can easily plan an RV road trip into Georgia (about 40 minutes to Chickamauga Battlefield), Alabama (around 2 hours to Huntsville), North Carolina (roughly 3 hours to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway), or Kentucky (about 4 hours to Mammoth Cave). Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance and protection coverage stop at the border. Cross-border trips into Canada may be allowed with host approval, message them before booking. A 4-day loop from Lakesite to the Great Smoky Mountains via Gatlinburg and back through the Cherohala Skyway is one of the South's most scenic motorhome rental Lakesite adventures.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat about fuel costs for a Lakesite RV trip?
Tennessee typically has some of the lower fuel prices in the Southeast, which keeps your RV camping Lakesite budget in check. Several truck-friendly stations (Pilot, Love's, TA) sit right off I-75 near Chattanooga. Expect roughly 8 to 10 MPG for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, and 12 to 18 MPG towing a travel trailer with a half-ton truck. For a typical 4-night Chickamauga Lake trip covering 200 to 300 miles total, budget $80 to $150 in fuel. Fill up in Soddy-Daisy or Hixson before heading to Harrison Bay, prices in town are often a few cents cheaper than the interstate stations.
gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/How far ahead should I book a campground near Lakesite?
Book early to lock in the best lakefront sites. Tennessee State Parks (including Harrison Bay and Booker T. Washington) open reservations up to 12 months in advance through the official reservation portal, and prime summer weekends sell out 3 to 4 months ahead. Chester Frost Park, run by Hamilton County, also takes reservations well in advance and waterfront sites disappear fast for Memorial Day and July 4. Midweek (Sunday through Thursday) you can often snag walk-up sites at Harrison Bay even in July, perfect for spontaneous family RV trip Lakesite plans.
tnstateparks.com/about/reservationsWhat are the local driving conditions like in and around Lakesite?
Driving an RV around Lakesite is refreshingly easy. The town sits on the west shore of Chickamauga Lake with wide, low-traffic roads. The main routes you'll use, TN-58, Dayton Pike, and US-27, all handle big rigs without issue. I-75 through Chattanooga can get congested weekday mornings (7 to 9 a.m.) and afternoons (4 to 6 p.m.), so plan departures outside rush hour. Summer afternoon thunderstorms roll across the Tennessee River Valley quickly, pull over and wait them out for 20 to 30 minutes. Watch for occasional fog along lake roads at dawn in spring and fall. Use the I-75 bypass via Bonny Oaks Drive to skirt downtown traffic when heading south.
smartway.tn.gov/trafficWhat hookups and amenities will I find at Lakesite-area campgrounds?
You'll find solid amenities at every major park. Harrison Bay State Park offers water and 30/50-amp electric at most RV sites, a centralized dump station, and bathhouses in the camping areas. Chester Frost Park provides 30/50-amp service, water, and a dump station. Booker T. Washington State Park offers water and electric sites with bathhouse access. For full hookups including sewer, look north toward Dayton-area RV resorts. For potable water fills and dumps along your route, truck stops at I-75 exits near Ooltewah often have RV-friendly facilities. Bring a 25-foot sewer hose and a water pressure regulator, older lakeside parks sometimes run high city pressure.
tnstateparks.com/parks/harrison-bayWhat's actually inside the RVs available in Lakesite?

Most RVs available for rent in Lakesite sleep 4 to 8 people and come with a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, often a convection oven), a bathroom with shower and toilet, roof air conditioning, propane furnace, and a dinette that converts to extra sleeping space. Travel trailers and Class C motorhomes are the most common, with queen-size primary beds and bunk options for kids. Many include outdoor speakers, awnings, TVs, and a generator or solar for off-grid evenings on Chickamauga Lake. Seatbelts are provided for traveling passengers in motorhomes. Filter by Sleeps count and check the photo gallery, hosts often add coffee makers, board games, and lake chairs as nice extras.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lakesite,TennesseeWhat add-ons can I get with my Lakesite RV rental?

Popular add-ons include linen and bedding packages ($25 to $75), kitchen kits ($25 to $50), camp chairs and outdoor mats ($15 to $30), generators for boondocking ($25 to $50 per night), bike racks, kayaks, and paddleboards (great for Chickamauga Lake), and pet packages. Pickup and dropoff usually happen at the host's home in Lakesite, Soddy-Daisy, or Hixson, but most hosts offer delivery to Harrison Bay State Park or Chester Frost Park for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies typically run 100 to 150 free miles per night with $0.35 to $0.50 per extra mile. Bundle add-ons when messaging the host, many will discount a full package.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lakesite,TennesseeHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental Tennessee adventure on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, no cash exchanged with the host. Your trip total (nightly rate, taxes, fees, protection) is charged through the booking process. The host places a refundable security deposit hold on your card before pickup, separate from the booking payment, typically a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the RV and your protection tier. As long as you return the RV clean, undamaged, and with the agreed fuel and tank levels, the hold is released after your trip ends. Take date-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and odometer at both pickup and dropoff to keep any deposit review straightforward.
