🌄 Our First RV Adventure—10 Days of Fun & Freedom! - This was our very first RV vacation, and while we were a little hesitant at first, Bill made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. He was incredibly helpful—available before, during, and even after our trip to answer questions and offer support. His thorough walkthrough before we hit the road gave us confidence, especially with tips on what to do in different situations. We took the RV for 10 days from South Florida to the mountains of Maryland, stopping at six different campgrounds and even plugging in at my sister’s and in-laws’ homes for a few nights. The RV had everything we needed and was in great shape—clean, well-equipped, and surprisingly easy to drive. We returned it with just a minor hubcap issue and no other problems, which felt like a blessing after such a big trip. We had an absolute blast and would highly recommend this RV to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and fun way to travel. Thanks again, Bill!

Far and away a better experience than we could have hoped for. Sassy was the PERFECT RV for us. Very clean, adequate space (2 adults and a dog), well stocked with useful items and just all around fantastic. We traveled from CT to West Virginia, the trip just wouldn't have been the same without such comfortable accommodations. The couple was informative and incredibly flexible and accommodating with our unique schedule. We truly cannot say enough good things about our experience. We're already beginning to plan our next trip with Sassy. Thanks so much!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Perfect Land Yacht! (Comfy quarters with none of the seasickness) Megan & Owen's was the RV we didn't know we needed! It was a great home away from home and made us the envy of our camping neighbors (especially when the rain showed up).  It was spacious and comfortable. There was good water pressure and temperature in the shower. The generator worked perfectly, keeping the trailer cool and the refrigerator cold!  The ambient lighting inside and out, along with the outdoor rug added a nice touch. The awning was perfect for us to sit outside and avoid the direct sun...and rain. The indoor/outdoor Bluetooth speakers were also nice. The convenience of control panels (for the lighting, awning, water, climate control and Bluetooth) were high tech enough for sophistication but low tech enough for us to manage. The RV was well-stocked with the necessities -- towels, linens,  dishes, soaps (bathroom and kitchen), toilet paper and even a fan -- lending to the feel of home. We didn't use the outdoor grill THIS time but look forward to using it next time. Owen was a great host and the booking process was seamless and straightforward, with clear communication and helpful tips provided every step of the way. He was very attentive to our questions before, during and after the rental. He dropped off the trailer, set everything up for us and picked it up promptly at our check out time. I can’t recommend this RV rental enough. If you're a seasoned camper or trying RVing for the first time, this is the way to go. We’re already planning our next trip!

Dealing with Scott was fantastic! This was my first time renting a trailer and he made things a breeze. He was very easy to communicate with and delivered as promised. We opted for delivery and he was right on time for drop off and pick up! Very helpful throughout the process. As for the trailer, it was exactly as advertised. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Even stocked with cookware, utensils, and dishes. As well as towels, pillows, and bed linens, all clean, fresh and neatly folded. The campground we stayed at did not have electric hookups, so we rented his generator as well. Worked great, easy start up and was decent on fuel consumption. I saw a review complaining about rodents, but there were absolutely no signs of them anywhere. I would absolutely recommend Scott and his trailer to anyone and plan to use him in the future!

What do I need to rent an RV in Martinsburg, WV?

Pretty simple, in West Virginia a regular driver's license is all you need to rent and drive most RVs, including Class A, Class C, and travel trailer setups. When is the best time to rent an RV in Martinsburg, WV?

The sweet spot is late April through October, when Martinsburg enjoys warm days, lush green hills, and prime camping weather. Summer highs sit in the mid-80s°F with occasional thunderstorms, while fall brings spectacular Appalachian foliage from late September through mid-October, peak season for a Martinsburg RV trip. Spring (April-May) is gorgeous if a little wet, with redbuds and dogwoods blooming across the Eastern Panhandle. Winters get cold, dipping into the 20s°F with occasional snow, so cold-weather trips work best in winterized RVs at campgrounds with shore power. I've never driven an RV before. Is this really doable in Martinsburg?

Totally doable, the first time renting an RV is way less intimidating than it sounds, especially around Martinsburg where the roads are RV-friendly and the terrain is rolling rather than mountainous. Every RVezy host walks you through the entire rig at pickup, covering propane, water systems, generator, slide-outs, and driving tips, and you can call or message them anytime during your trip with questions. Start small with a Class C motorhome or travel trailer, both of which handle like a large van or pickup. Stick to I-81 and Route 9 for your first miles and avoid downtown Washington D.C. until you've got your legs under you. Pro tip, ask your host for their favorite local route to ease into it.

Your host is also your local expert, they know the rig best and can troubleshoot most small issues over the phone. RVezy customer support is reachable before, during, and after your trip if anything comes up. Pro tip, save the roadside number in your phone before you leave the driveway, it takes 10 seconds and brings huge peace of mind.

What are the driving conditions like around Martinsburg?

Friendly for RVs, Martinsburg sits in the gentle Eastern Panhandle where roads are well-maintained and grades are mild compared to the rest of West Virginia's mountain interior. I-81 runs right through town and is the main artery for RVs heading to Hagerstown, Winchester, or beyond. WV-9 connects to Charles Town and Harpers Ferry with manageable curves. Watch for occasional fog in low-lying areas along the Potomac River in early morning, and slow down on rural roads after rainstorms. Winter driving (December through March) can bring snow and ice, so check forecasts before heading out. Pro tip, avoid driving an RV through downtown Martinsburg during weekday rush hours (4 to 6 p.m.), stick to the I-81 corridor instead.

State park campgrounds like Cacapon Resort State Park typically offer electric and water hookups with a central dump station rather than full sewer at each site. Many private parks also have laundry, propane refills, camp stores, and Wi-Fi. Pro tip, top off your fresh water tank and dump tanks at your campground before checkout, it saves time and keeps your final pickup-day smooth.

How do payment and the security deposit work when I rent an RV in Martinsburg?

Easy and transparent, when you rent an RV in Martinsburg through RVezy, you pay securely through the platform with a credit or debit card, no cash or off-platform payments. A separate security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before pickup (amounts vary by listing) and is released after your trip ends as long as the RV is returned in the same condition. Avoid issues by doing a thorough walkthrough at pickup, taking photos of any existing wear, and returning the RV clean with tanks dumped per your host's instructions. Pro tip, use a credit card with a higher limit for the deposit hold, it keeps your everyday spending power untouched during the trip.

Can I rent a campervan in Martinsburg for a winter trip?

Yes, winter RV adventures in West Virginia are absolutely possible and increasingly popular. Some campervan rental Martinsburg and motorhome listings on RVezy stay available year-round, especially those with winterized plumbing, heated holding tanks, and reliable furnaces. December through February temperatures average lows in the mid-20s°F with occasional snow, so look for rigs marketed as four-season or all-weather. Campgrounds like Harpers Ferry/Civil War Battlefields KOA stay open year-round, and shore power keeps you toasty overnight. The bonus, snow-dusted views over the Potomac and far fewer crowds at historic Harpers Ferry. Pro tip, ask your host to walk you through cold-weather operation at pickup, including how to prevent the fresh water hose from freezing on sub-25°F nights.
