The RV was extremely nice. It included 2 massage recliner chairs, a kitchen that had all the cooking utensils along with paper plates, plastic silverware and cups, paper towels, and the bathroom was stocked towels, toilet paper and hand soap so you don’t worry about packing any. Oren, the owner, was extremely helpful. This was my first time staying in and renting an RV, I had a lot of questions before and during my trip. Oren always responded to my texts in a timely manner helping me solve the problem. He also got me in contact with a man who rents out generators and brought it to the campsite for me free of charge saving me time on making a pitstop. Highly recommend using Oren’s RV if you need an RV in the Chippewa Falls area.

Neat layout! Slept us all comfortably. Only thing I was picky about was that it wasn't very clean and things weren't in the best condition. Overall though, everything worked as it should!

What license do I need to rent an RV in New Auburn?

Great news for first-timers: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in New Auburn, WI. Wisconsin does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement for the Class A, Class B, Class C, travel trailer, fifth wheel, or truck camper rentals listed on RVezy. Approved drivers must generally be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so there's no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Are there winter RV rentals available around New Auburn?

Yes, winter rentals do exist, and they can be magical if you've wanted to try ice fishing on Long Lake or snowshoeing at Chippewa Moraine. Some RVezy hosts list four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and propane furnaces built for sub-zero nights. Most winter trips are stationary at a private property or a winter-open park with full hookups, since shore power is essential when temperatures drop into single digits from December through February. Filter by RV type and message hosts directly about cold-weather packages: many include extra propane, skirting, and a heated water hose.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay around New Auburn?

You'll do great, and New Auburn is actually a friendly place to learn. The roads around town (Highway 40, Highway 53, County M) are wide, low-traffic, and mostly flat, perfect for a first time renting an RV. Your RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup: how to level, hook up power and water, use the propane stove, dump tanks, and back into a site. They'll also share their phone number so you can text questions mid-trip. Pro tip: ask your host to demonstrate backing into a site, then practice once in their driveway before heading to Morris-Erickson. Ten minutes of practice pays off all week.

What happens if I have a breakdown or issue on the road?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you have a flat near Bloomer, a dead battery at the Chippewa Moraine trailhead, or a propane issue at midnight on Long Lake, one phone call gets help dispatched. You'll also have your host's direct number for quick questions, like how to reset the inverter or restart the fridge. Save the RVezy support number and your host's number in your phone before you leave the driveway, since cell service can get spotty in the deep Northwoods.

Cross-border travel into Canada is sometimes allowed but depends on the host and the insurance terms, so message the host directly before booking to confirm. What's the realistic fuel budget for an RV trip from New Auburn?

Easier to plan than you'd think. Gas prices in Chippewa County typically run a bit below the U.S. average, and most rentals on RVezy fall into predictable ranges: camper vans get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, Class A around 7 to 10 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer about 10 to 14 MPG. For a relaxed weekend hopping between Morris-Erickson and Brunet Island (under 100 miles total), expect $40 to $80 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in Bloomer or Chippewa Falls before heading north, prices climb noticeably once you pass into the deeper Northwoods.

How far in advance should I book a campground near New Auburn?

For summer weekends, sooner is better. Wisconsin DNR state park sites (Brunet Island, Lake Wissota, Chippewa Moraine) open for reservations 11 months in advance through the official Wisconsin State Park reservation system, and prime July and August weekends often book out within days of release. Chippewa County parks like Morris-Erickson use the county's own reservation portal and tend to fill 2 to 4 months ahead for peak weekends. Pro tip: if your dates are locked, reserve the campsite first, then book your RVezy rental and arrange delivery. Midweek (Sunday through Wednesday) usually has openings even in July, a smart move for a quieter family RV trip New Auburn.

What are the local driving conditions like around New Auburn?

Generally easy and RV-friendly. Highway 53 runs just east of New Auburn as a four-lane divided expressway, ideal for moving a motorhome between Eau Claire and Rice Lake. Highway 40 and the county roads are two-lane, scenic, and lightly trafficked, so you can take your time. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk (Chippewa County has a very active deer population), and slow down on gravel forest roads near Chippewa Moraine. In late fall and winter, sudden lake-effect snow squalls can pop up, the Wisconsin 511 system gives real-time road conditions. Pro tip: avoid driving Highway 40 right at sunset, that's prime deer hour all summer long.

Lake Wissota State Park has 58 electric sites, showers, a dump station, and a beach. For where to park an RV in New Auburn between trips, the Chippewa Moraine outpost sites are primitive (fire ring and pit toilet only). Pro tip: top off fresh water at Morris-Erickson, the lake-fed source is famously clear and good-tasting.
