Extremely clean van, lots of room for sleeping, cooking, and staying inside. Heather did a great job helping us navigate the set up as first-time van renters; however, most of the things turned out to be intuitive.

Great rental experience — highly recommend! Russ runs a very professional RV rental operation and clearly takes pride in what he does. He’s an RV enthusiast himself, and it shows in how well the trailer is equipped and maintained. The RV was extremely clean, well stocked, and everything worked exactly as advertised. Russ was great to work with from start to finish—very responsive, knowledgeable, and available to help with any questions or issues along the way. I would absolutely recommend reaching out to Russ if you’re considering one of his RVs. We had a great experience and would 100% rent from him again.

This was our first RV rental and it was fantastic! Two adults and a teen had more than enough space and the RV was modern, clean, and well appointed. Alfredo was a great host to work with and we had no issues with our stay. We’d definitely rent this unit again!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Gilroy, CA
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Gilroy, and how can I save on my trip?
RV rental in Gilroy typically starts around $125 to $185 per night for travel trailers and $200 to $325 per night for motorhomes, depending on the season, size, and age of the RV. For a cheap RV rental in Gilroy, travel during the shoulder seasons of March to May or September to November, when rates and demand are lower. Smaller campervan rentals are usually the most affordable option, and many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts directly on their listings. Booking midweek pickups and avoiding peak summer weekends can also help you stretch your budget further.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gilroy%2C%20CaliforniaWhat do I need to rent an RV in Gilroy, and is a special license required?
To rent an RV in Gilroy you only need a standard driver's license, be at least 25 years old, and pass RVezy's quick approved driver verification. A commercial or special California license is not required for the recreational RVs listed on RVezy, which are well under the weight thresholds that would trigger non-commercial Class A or B requirements. International visitors can drive with a valid license from their home country, and an International Driving Permit is recommended if the license is not in English. Your host will walk you through the RV at pickup so you feel confident before heading out.

help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my RV booking in Gilroy?
RVezy uses a standard cancellation policy that applies to every booking, so you do not need to track different rules from each host. Cancellations made within the early grace period after booking are eligible for a full refund of the rental cost, and refund amounts after that depend on how close you are to your trip start date. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy helps rebook you or provides a refund or travel credit. You can review the full policy details and refund timelines in the RVezy Help Center before you book your Gilroy RV rental.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my pet on my Gilroy RV trip, and are there pet-friendly RV rentals in Gilroy?
Yes, you can find pet-friendly RV rental in Gilroy by using the pet-friendly filter on RVezy when you search. Many local hosts welcome dogs, and some may apply a small pet cleaning fee that is clearly listed before you book. Gilroy is a great base for pet owners, with dog-friendly trails at Uvas Canyon County Park and Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park nearby. Confirm pet details with your host in the RVezy message thread before your trip so everyone, including your dog, is set up for a smooth getaway.
parks.sccgov.org/parks/uvas-canyon-county-parkCan I have the RV delivered to my home or campground in Gilroy?
Many Gilroy hosts offer RV delivery, which makes a first time RV trip much easier. Use the delivery filter on RVezy and enter your destination, such as your home address, Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park, or another nearby campground, to see which hosts deliver there and what the fee will be. Your host will park, level, and connect the RV, then walk you through how everything works before leaving. This is an ideal option for first-timers, families, or anyone who prefers not to drive a large vehicle through town.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038438353-RV-deliveryHow far can I travel with a Gilroy RV rental, and what is the average included mileage?
Most Gilroy RV rentals include a daily mileage allowance, commonly between 100 and 150 miles per day, with the option to purchase additional miles or choose a listing that offers unlimited mileage. From Gilroy you are roughly 35 miles to Monterey, 40 miles to Santa Cruz, 80 miles to Pinnacles National Park, and about 95 miles to Big Sur, so day trips and short loops fit comfortably within a typical allowance. For a longer RV road trip from Gilroy to destinations like Yosemite or Lake Tahoe, look for listings with unlimited mileage to keep costs predictable. Always confirm the included mileage in your listing before booking.
nps.gov/pinn/index.htmWhere can I park an RV or find campgrounds near Gilroy?
There are several solid campgrounds near Gilroy for your RV trip. Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park offers lakeside sites with hookups and great hiking just north of town, while Mount Madonna County Park to the west has forested sites in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Casa de Fruta RV Park, about 15 miles east on Pacheco Pass, has full hookups, a pool, and easy highway access. Many RVezy hosts can deliver and set up your RV at these campgrounds, so book your site and rental together for the smoothest Gilroy RV camping experience.
parks.sccgov.org/parks/coyote-lake-harvey-bear-ranch-county-parkWhat is the best time of year for an RV trip in Gilroy?
Spring and early fall are the most comfortable times for RV camping in Gilroy, with highs typically in the 70s Fahrenheit and lower visitor traffic at parks. Summer days often climb into the 90s and align with peak festival and harvest season, so plan for air conditioning and book campgrounds well in advance. Winters are mild, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and most rainfall between November and March, making it a quiet but workable season for RV travel. Check the latest forecast from the National Weather Service before your trip to plan around any storm systems.
forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=37.0058&lon=-121.5683Is it hard to drive an RV around Gilroy?
Gilroy is a beginner-friendly place to drive an RV, with wide roads, easy Highway 101 access, and mostly flat terrain through town and the surrounding valley. Your RVezy host will give you a full walkthrough at pickup that covers driving tips, mirrors, leveling, and hookups, which makes a big difference if it is your first time renting an RV. Avoid Highway 101 during weekday commute hours, take it slow on the winding roads up to Uvas Canyon or Mount Madonna, and use pull-through sites when possible. If you would rather skip the drive entirely, choose a host who offers delivery straight to your campground.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if I break down during my Gilroy RV trip?
Every RVezy booking in Gilroy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is just a phone call away. Coverage includes common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and mechanical breakdowns whether you are in town or out exploring Pinnacles, Big Sur, or the redwoods. Save the RVezy roadside assistance number alongside your host's contact info before you leave so you can reach support quickly if anything happens. Your host is also a great first call for questions about the specific RV.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I cross state lines or travel to Canada or Mexico with my Gilroy RV rental?
You can typically travel across state lines with a Gilroy RV rental throughout the continental United States, subject to the mileage included in your booking and your host's listing rules. Travel into Canada requires advance approval from your host, since insurance and border documentation need to be arranged ahead of time. Travel into Mexico is not permitted with RVezy rentals. Popular multi-state RV road trips from Gilroy include Yosemite National Park at about 145 miles, Lake Tahoe at about 230 miles, and Crater Lake in Oregon for longer adventures, all subject to your host's approval.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow should I budget for fuel and travel costs during my Gilroy RV trip?
Most RVs in Gilroy average about 8 to 14 miles per gallon depending on size, with travel trailers reducing the tow vehicle's fuel economy similarly. California fuel prices are among the highest in the country, so check current local averages from the California Energy Commission when budgeting. As a rough example, an 80 mile round trip from Gilroy to Santa Cruz in a Class C motorhome may use 6 to 10 gallons of fuel. Plan a few longer stops instead of frequent driving, fill up at larger stations along Highway 101 that can accommodate RVs, and use fuel apps to compare prices on your route.
energy.ca.gov/data-reports/energy-almanac/transportation-energy/california-retail-fuel-outlet-annual-reportingHow far ahead should I book a campground near Gilroy, and where do I reserve?
Aim to book campgrounds near Gilroy 1 to 3 months in advance for summer weekends and longer when major festivals are happening. Santa Clara County parks like Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch and Mount Madonna are reserved through the county park reservation system, while California State Parks are booked on ReserveCalifornia. Private parks such as Casa de Fruta RV Park accept reservations directly through their own websites. Confirm hookup type, site length, and pet rules so the campground matches your specific RV rental.
reservecalifornia.com/What are local driving conditions like in the Gilroy area?
Driving conditions in Gilroy are generally easy for RVs, with flat terrain, wide arterial roads, and direct Highway 101 access running through town. Traffic builds on Highway 101 during weekday commute hours and on summer weekends heading toward Monterey and Santa Cruz, so plan departures outside peak times. Mountain roads heading to Uvas Canyon County Park, Mount Madonna, or over Pacheco Pass on Highway 152 are narrower and winding, so drive slowly and use lower gears on descents. During harvest season, watch for slow-moving farm equipment on rural roads east and south of town.
quickmap.dot.ca.gov/What equipment and amenities can I expect at RV campgrounds near Gilroy?
Private RV parks near Gilroy, such as Casa de Fruta RV Park, typically offer full hookups with water, sewer, and 30 or 50 amp electricity, plus extras like Wi-Fi, laundry, showers, and a pool. County parks like Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch and Mount Madonna provide more rustic sites with potable water and restrooms, and some sites with electric hookups, but fewer resort-style amenities. Dump stations are commonly available at private parks and at select county park locations. Check each campground's site map and amenity list when booking to match your RV's hookup needs.
parks.sccgov.org/parks/coyote-lake-harvey-bear-ranch-county-parkWhat amenities come with my Gilroy RV rental?
A typical Gilroy RV rental comes ready to camp, with beds, a kitchen with cookware, a bathroom, climate control, and basic outdoor gear like chairs or a hose. Many listings also include air conditioning, a generator or solar setup, a TV, and add-ons such as bike racks, outdoor BBQs, or kid and pet gear. Each RVezy listing has a detailed amenities section so you can confirm what is included before you book and message the host with any special requests. Air conditioning is especially helpful during Gilroy's warm summer months.

Many hosts will deliver directly to campgrounds such as Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch or Casa de Fruta RV Park, which is ideal for a stress-free family RV trip from Gilroy. Use the RVezy filters to narrow down by RV type, sleeping capacity, and features.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gilroy%2C%20CaliforniaHow does payment and the security deposit work for Gilroy RV rentals?
Payment for your Gilroy RV rental is handled securely through RVezy, with the rental total typically charged in installments leading up to your trip. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your rental payment and is released after your trip once the RV is returned in the agreed condition. The deposit covers potential incidentals such as damage or excess cleaning, and the exact amount is shown on the listing before you book. Returning the RV on time, clean, and with the fuel and tanks per the agreement is the easiest way to get your full deposit back quickly.
