What's traffic and road driving like in Hillsborough and the Bay Area?

Driving in and around Hillsborough is straightforward, but expect heavier traffic during weekday rush hours, roughly 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m., on Highways 101 and 280. Hillsborough's residential streets can be hilly and tree-lined, so go slowly in a larger rig. Downtown San Mateo and areas near SFO can get crowded. If you're driving a larger motorhome rental, stick to main routes and avoid peak commute times. RV delivery is a smart option if urban driving gives you pause.
