David was absolutely incredible to work with. He truly saved our family vacation weekend to the Dover NASCAR races, when our other RV reservation cancelled at the last minute. David was extremely prompt with his responses and was so accommodating with drop off and pick up and everything was amazing with the RV. My family and I are extremely grateful for David and our experience with RVezy.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Felton, DE
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Felton, Delaware?
RV rental in Felton is affordable compared to renting near the Delaware coast. Travel trailers typically run $90 to $160 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275, and Class A motorhomes sit between $250 and $400. Because Felton is in central Kent County off Route 13, you are outside the premium Rehoboth and Lewes pricing zone, so you can often save on the same class of RV. For a cheap RV rental in Felton, book midweek in May or late September, choose a smaller travel trailer, and ask hosts about multi-night discounts. Bundling 5+ nights usually unlocks the best per-night rate, and many Felton hosts reduce cleaning fees for longer trips.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felton,DelawareDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Felton, DE?
Good news, your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Felton, DE. The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles only requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for vehicles over 26,000 pounds, and virtually every RV on RVezy, including Class A motorhomes, Class C motorhomes, campervans, fifth wheels, and travel trailers, comes in well under that threshold. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from another country? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home license and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how straightforward it is.
dmv.de.gov/DriverServices/drivers_license/CDL/index.shtmlWhat protection is included when I rent an RV in Felton?
Every RV rental in Felton booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Route 13 with peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle, giving you meaningful financial protection without piecing together your own coverage. During checkout, you choose the protection level that fits your trip, not the host, so you stay in control of your coverage. While it is not traditional auto insurance, it is designed specifically for peer-to-peer RV rentals and handles the situations renters worry about most. You can review the available coverage tiers on RVezy before you book.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Felton RV trip?
Booking is low-risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy for every rental in Felton. There is a money-back grace period after booking so you can lock in your dates, and refund eligibility scales based on how far out you are from your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will issue a refund or travel credit so your trip plans stay protected. Because the policy applies platform-wide, you will not see different rules on different listings. Book early to secure a peak-summer RV for Killens Pond, then relax knowing the cancellation policy has your back.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Felton?
Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Felton is easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see every host who welcomes dogs and cats. Delaware State Parks make this an especially great dog-trip destination because leashed pets are welcome at the state park campgrounds, including nearby Killens Pond just south of Felton. Bring proof of rabies vaccination, a 6-foot leash, and waste bags. Killens Pond has a Pondside Nature Trail that is perfect for morning walks with your pup. Message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and ask about their favorite local dog-friendly spots, many Felton hosts are dog owners themselves.
destateparks.com/petsCan the RV be delivered to my campground or rental property in Felton?
Yes, RV delivery in Felton is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game-changer if you are new to RVing. Many local hosts will tow or drive your motorhome rental in Felton directly to Killens Pond State Park or your driveway, then level it, hook up water, sewer, and 30/50-amp shore power, and walk you through every system. That means zero stress about backing into a tight site or learning to tow on Route 13. Use the Delivery filter to see hosts offering this service. Delivery fees are set per host and usually scale with mileage, so booking a host based in Felton, Dover, or Harrington keeps costs low.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felton,DelawareHow far can I travel on a Felton RV trip, and what about mileage limits?
You have plenty of range for a fantastic Felton RV trip. Many hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal because Delaware is small and many adventures are close. From Felton, Rehoboth Beach is about 45 miles east, Cape Henlopen State Park is roughly 50 miles, Assateague Island National Seashore is about 90 miles south, Philadelphia is around 90 miles north, and Ocean City, MD is about 80 miles southeast. Each listing shows the exact mileage policy upfront, so there are no surprises. If you are planning a multi-state RV road trip from Felton up to the Poconos or down to Chincoteague, filter for unlimited-mileage listings first.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Felton,DelawareWhere are the best campgrounds near Felton, Delaware?
You are spoiled for choice near Felton. The closest and most beloved option is Killens Pond State Park, just south of Felton, with wooded RV sites offering water and electric hookups, a waterpark, and a pond for kayaking. About 25 miles south you will find Trap Pond State Park, famous for its bald cypress swamp and mature-forest sites. Cape Henlopen State Park (about 50 miles east in Lewes) offers oceanfront camping, while Delaware Seashore State Park sits between Rehoboth and Indian River Bays. For a private resort vibe, Tall Pines Harbor Campground and Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay are both popular. Book through the official Delaware State Parks reservation system as early as possible for summer weekends.
destateparks.com/know-before-you-go/camping/When is the best time of year for RV camping in Felton?
Felton has a humid climate with a long camping window from mid-April through late October. Spring (April to May) brings highs in the 60s and 70s and blooming dogwoods at Killens Pond. Summer (June to August) is warm and humid, with July highs around the upper 80s and afternoon thunderstorms, perfect for beach runs to Rehoboth but you will want strong air conditioning. The local secret is September and early October, when temperatures cool, humidity drops, and state park sites are easier to grab. Winter camping is possible with a four-season RV. Book Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends several months out, they sell out fast.
weather.gov/phi/I have never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving one around Felton?
You will be just fine, and Felton is one of the easier places in the country for first time renting an RV. Central Delaware is flat, the roads are wide, and Route 13 (the main north-south corridor) is a straightforward divided highway. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup covering driving, hookups, leveling, the propane system, the awning, and dumping tanks, so you are never left guessing. You can also message the host any time during your trip, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every booking. Do a quick practice loop through a large empty lot, such as near the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, before heading to the campground.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
Help is always a phone call away. Every RV rental in Felton booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance, covering tire issues, towing, lockouts, jump-starts, and mechanical breakdowns, whether you are parked at Killens Pond or cruising Route 1 toward Rehoboth Beach. For anything system-specific like the awning, slide, or generator, message your host directly through the RVezy app, most Felton hosts respond quickly because they know their rig inside and out. RVezy customer support is also available before, during, and after your trip. Save the roadside assistance number on your phone at pickup so everything is at your fingertips if you need it.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat are the best RV road trip routes from Felton?
An RV road trip from Felton opens up some of the East Coast's best driving. Head east about 45 miles to the Delaware Beaches loop (Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, and Fenwick Island) along Route 1. Drive south about 90 miles to Assateague Island for wild ponies and Atlantic dunes. Cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel for a Virginia Eastern Shore adventure (around 130 miles). Head north about 90 miles to Philadelphia and Valley Forge, or push roughly 4 hours to the Pocono Mountains. Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed with many hosts (confirm in advance), but RVezy rentals cannot be taken into Mexico. The Cape May-Lewes Ferry accepts RVs and is a scenic shortcut into New Jersey.
nps.gov/asis/planyourvisit/directions.htmHow much should I budget for fuel on a Felton RV trip?
Fuel is one of the more predictable parts of your budget. Class B campervans get 18-22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 10-14 MPG, Class A rigs get 7-10 MPG, and trucks pulling travel trailers land around 10-13 MPG. Delaware gas prices typically run a few cents below the national average, and you'll find dependable fuel stops at the Wawa and Royal Farms locations along Route 13 in Felton, Harrington, and Dover. For a typical 200-mile weekend loop to Rehoboth and back, expect $50-$90 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: GasBuddy consistently shows Royal Farms as the cheapest fill-up around Felton, and they have diesel pumps tall enough for big motorhomes.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Felton?
Booking ahead is the single best move you can make. Delaware State Parks open their reservation window through the official Reserve Delaware State Parks portal. For Killens Pond, the closest campground to Felton, summer weekends and holidays often book out 4 to 6 months ahead, while shoulder-season midweek sites are often available closer to your travel date. Private parks like Tall Pines Harbor and Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay use their own websites and tend to fill 2 to 3 months in advance for July and August. Lock in your RV on RVezy as soon as your campground is confirmed so you have the best selection.
destateparks.com/know-before-you-go/camping/What are driving conditions like around Felton?
Driving around Felton is refreshingly stress-free. Central Delaware is flat farmland with no mountains, no tunnels for tall vehicles, and minimal traffic outside the Dover and Wilmington corridors. Route 13 and Route 1 are the main arteries, both well-maintained divided highways comfortable for any size RV. Watch for slow-moving farm equipment in spring and fall on county roads, and plan around summer beach weekends when Route 1 to Rehoboth backs up Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings. Sudden afternoon thunderstorms pop up in July and August, just pull off safely and wait them out. Check DelDOT's real-time traffic map before heading out on busy weekends.
deldot.gov/Programs/realtime/What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Felton?
